The Numbers Game – The Promoted Assets

Chelsea and Villa’s assets feature prominently in the top 10 of our ICT Index after Gameweek 1, with the two teams supplying five players between them after opening the season with a pair of fixtures apiece. While many of the usual suspects have made an instant impact, we turn our attentions to the newly-promoted sides and attempt to look for the positives after all three tasted defeat in their opening fixture of the 2013/14 campaign.

Go for Bony and Soldado up front. Toure in defence, Coutinho. Taarabt and Shelvey as midfield punts.

No point having both RVP and Aguero. One or the other. I'd suggest you go with RVP and downgrade Aguero to Lambert perhaps, then upgrade your midfield.

Doubt it, we bought Schurrle for his versatility. He can play out wide or as a lone striker. Just goes to show that even with the return of Mourinho, Roman still makes all the decisions.

No, Mourinho specifically said that Mata isn't going anywhere. We're just adding Willian to the squad. Gonna be sad to see Willian on the bench if he comes to Chelsea. Like already De Bruyne, Schurrle, Van Ginkel on the bench wasn't enough. I've no idea why Chelsea is doing this. :/

“Hey guys, how can we hurt our title chances this year?”

I am amazed at the number of people asking if they should play their wildcards (or have done) because they don't have the perfect team this week.

With so many surprises in the first week, (Teckers, Lukaku, Luiz, Anelka...etc) i would suggest most people are stretched a little this week and will be next week as well with the blanks. What happened to using your bench, a hit here or there to build an evolving team over the next 3 or so gameweeks??

I could be wrong but i can imagine there will be stickier times than these to come and a wildcard will come in handy or be essential.

    Patience people

Sure.... but we knew it was coming... it's not like they snuck the blank in and screwed everyone over. Bit of planning, bit or bench rotation, a hit or two and you should be able to get through it with head above water.

This truly is silly season, nobody knows who is playing where or when. muddle through and kick on the other side i say.

Previously was torn between Aguero & Soldado to give Armband. Discussion of Walcott vs Briggs is picking up some pace lately & Fulham is also without Stekelenburg, Amorebeita. I'm making it a triple threat contest now. 😐

    1) Aguero
    2) Soldado
    3) Walcott

    Please everyone vote 🙂

Walcott definitely an interesting prospect. I'm very tempted to captain him.

That said I think the other 2 are safer bets.

Strange response to a low scoring GW, using your WC. It won't change your points total, and many others will have the same fate.

3 x Andy Carrolls for that... and other than match days you could let them graze in your field, keep your grass under control... Bale couldn't give you that.

Seems like a lot of people are taking a 4 point hit to transfer out Hazard for Silva. With Silva's fixtures and the blank GW3 for Chelski, it is worth it. Silva should get his share of assists and maybe bonus.
