The Numbers Game – The Promoted Assets

Chelsea and Villa’s assets feature prominently in the top 10 of our ICT Index after Gameweek 1, with the two teams supplying five players between them after opening the season with a pair of fixtures apiece. While many of the usual suspects have made an instant impact, we turn our attentions to the newly-promoted sides and attempt to look for the positives after all three tasted defeat in their opening fixture of the 2013/14 campaign.

Don't like the MF. Walcott the only premium MF. Hard to upgrade your MF when required, which is bound to happen.

Downgrade RVP or Aguero and upgrade Sinclair/Nolan. I'd also bring in a premium defender, maybe a CB, given how the BAPS favour them now.

    Which one would you start?

    Koren(NOR), Sessegnon(sou) or Clyne(SUN)

Such a tough decision and I'm definitely going to get it wrong.

Who's he linked with? That'd be good news for me too, but Lukaku recently said that he doesn't mind competion from Rooney for the #1 striker spot, time will tell

Morning everyone! (Afternoon if your across the pond)

As we're all contemplating our captain choices for this upcoming week, I'd like to add my 2 cents on why Sturridge could possibly be a slightly better pick over Soldado & Benteke going into this weekend..

My thoughts are that Soldado is a solid choice + he has Pens... Benteke is in form so far, but having just played on Wed. I expect the whole villa side to be slightly sluggish.. That brings us to Sturridge.. Sturridge showed some good potential during the first game week and since he will be playing against that tired villa side.. should do well this week.. all that to say, CAPTAIN = STURRIDGE!

    Tell me I'm not crazy...

Sound logic but I'm going for Dzeko

It's far from crazy - but still a bit of a punt given Villa looks to have a reasonably solid defence this year.

One man's sluggish is another man's match ready fitness. The amount of chances that 'Pool spurned vs Stoke is a slight worry for me. That said Coutinho is still in my team. Pool could win, and win big, but I could see them losing too. Just too close a game to risk the armband on.

I agree with you and I still have Coutinho in my team to..I realize its a risk.. but based on the other 2 options I'm thinking its not as big of a risk given the other fixtures this week.. I just don't see the Spurs scoring more that 1 or 2 against Swansea (Although Soldado will probably be involved in any other the goals we see)..

Not crazy at all. Villa defence looks shabby to me.
