  Well up until recently, I thought he was the best box-box midfielder up to the final 3rd. If he really can add consistent goals to his games, he could be the best midfielder in the premier league. Boundless energy, very good defensively, good technically. I am so excited by the prospect of a long term Wilshere, Ramsey, Ozil triangle.

      Differentials is the most misused, or misunderstood word on this site.
      
      Anelka and Weimann are certainly differentials, but not the sort you want.
      
      I think most of the time differentials is thrown out to justify bad decisions/punts. Unless you are trying to beat a specific opponent, differentials don't mean much.

After my extensive research on the last page, I have concluded:

* A -4 transfer hit = 20,000 ranking drop (not taking into account if it is successful or not)
* a higher number of transfer made can cost you a few thousand places in the ranking

  I have no idea how my hit this week to get RVP in went. So far ok as I would have captained Walcott, but if Sturridge scores (I transferred him out for the Dutchman) then it'll be a big disaster.
  
  With hit - 12rvp + 2 (walcott) + brady (2) - 4pt hit = 12
  Without hit - Sturridge (?) + Walcott as capt 4 + Kim 1(would have come in off my bench) = 5
  
  .... so if Sturridge gets more than 7 then this week's hit was officially pants.

As is see it, the main decision to be made over the next 6 weeks or so, is RVP or Rooney/ Suarez. Personally i'm faced with RVP/Lambert(or Lukaku) or Rooney/Suarez, with my other striker being Benteke. Think there wont be much in it but despite all the Rooney love on here, RVP is more reliable captain choice and I'm leaning his way.

While RVP is clearly overpriced for the fixtures beyond City I think he is a must have. If he doesn't perform, suarez/Rooney transfer is easy. Much will also depend on Lambert/Lukaku's form.

  Not sure about Carvajal... RM have a tough group, and they don't keep clean sheets too often. They played a Illara-Modric double pivot in the last game, and they were very open. Not to mention Arbeloa might come in (unless injured?) because of his experience.
  I also think your bench is really strong. The Athletico Madrid defenders should be starting because they are on of the tightest units in the world under Simeone. Can you not downgrade the bench to get Ronaldo? He performs in the CL.

  Exponential I'd assume, which looks about right considering how early into the season we are. Straightens out more at the season progresses, but theoretically will always be exponential.

    That's the cumulative density function of the normal distribution. Thinking rank is actually the same as cumulative density. That would be on the y-axis, points would be on the x-axis.

  On a bigger scale of course, but it would provide a good insight to how far you are away from a certain rank.

    I think someone like Mathmo (forgive me mystery person if I misattributed this) did one scraping thousands of teams off the FPL site. Would be interested to see his graph. Only difference with this one is that it tests honesty.
