Fantasy Football Scout Cup VIII – Third Round Draw

With little time for turnaround between Gameweeks, we roll out the Round 2 results and Round 3 Draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, sponsored by Paddy Power, this evening. Before we look at the remaining contenders for the crown, those taking part should note that these ties take place over Gameweek 15 – the Gameweek 14 midweek matches do not count towards your tally:

Our defending champion Wild Rover seems to have risen to the occasion and, having climbed the rankings in the last couple of weeks, now faces Hillbillypete for a place in the Fourth Round. Wild Rover is one of only three previous Scout Cup winners still remaining; GoonerDave goes up against Mufcste55 – the latter is the favourite here, sitting just outside the top 10,000 – whilst sleepingmaster pits his wits against bigfourleggedbeast.

Mark’s podcast co-host and Champions League tipster Granville swept aside Dullardinho last weekend and now faces The Upper Deckers, who sits just inside the top 1 million. Gaz Downright – who tops the Contributors and Moderators league – is up against 2ndMan, whilst fellow moderators applebonkers and Ryan have been drawn against ste2510 and Bedknobs and Boomsticks respectively.

Amongst the community members still in with a shout, Tommy Tynan’s Left Shin Pad takes on Jafooli, The Sarjeant faces Isacki, EpicFAIL has been drawn against The Shadow and Daniel plays host to The Flying Nugget.

Giuliop11 may well be considered the favourite for the title. Sitting in 164th spot overall, he’s the man to avoid – Ferenc55 stands in his way of a Fourth Round spot.

As usual, we name-check the highest scoring winner from the previous round. Realunitedfc takes the honour, after racking up 90 points in Gameweek 13 – now up to around the 17,000-mark, he swaggers into the next fixture against bcdahm.

If you fancy a glance back at the Round 2 results, click here or if you are awaiting the fixture list for the next batch of head-to-head, the draw for the Third Round is available here.

As always, good luck to those still in with a shout of the silverware.

    Hey guys!

I was watching the Spurs v United game at the weekend and was surprised to see Walker so involved in set pieces. Is that like a thing now, or is it just AVB tinkering?

    Cheers

Off topic Question: How does these price rises works , I mean if someone is 150% green than he will rise 0.1 for the day and rest 50% will be added for next day or not???? Similarly what happens if he is not more than 100% . Can anyone explain clearly ???

If they are over 100% at 1:43am UK time then they will rise 0.1 and be reset to 0%, regardless of whether they were at 100.1% or 1000%

hard to explain but yes, that 50% does carry on to the next day, meaning they are 50% of the way to their next rise

I have two frees, and not quite sure what to do. Can't justify getting Rooney in, as I'd really have to ditch Ozil or Coutinho, and it's a stupid week to do either. So might wait on that. SO really I just want to use my must-use transfer, and carry one.

    Mignolet (Lewis)
    Terry Chico Walker (Coleman Chester)
    Ozil Coutinho Ramsey Ward-Prowse (Brady)
    Suarez Aguero Remy

    0.4 in bank.

    Possibles:
    A) Chester -> Ward
    B) Brady -> Brunt
    C) Brady -> Amalfitano
    D) Chico -> Evans

In B and C, I'd bench the West Brom player this week. D is slightly annoying as Chico has a good next two. Thoughts?

    1. Aguero could have easily had a goal or two.

    2. What is it the City fans say when Negredo scores?

After this week (which Suarez (c) ftw)

Which combination will serve me best?
    a) Rooney Lukaku Ivanovic Evra
    b) Suarez Lukaku Dawson Evra
    c) Suarez Rooney Burner Vlaar

I don't think coverage matters in attacking sense but if you're into that. I don't have any MU attacking coverage and I may get Mirallas depending on situation.

    Cheers guys

Planning to get Rooney and Lukaku in for Suarez Remy in GW 16 if I go with A.

With B and C it's a straight swap Remy to Lukaku / Rooney.

    Migs boruc

    aguero negredo suarez.

Have 1.8 in the bank.. short .5 to swap sess to walcott.

Another thing ive thought of but am scared to do is just keep negredo and swap aguero for rooney... silly hey? How do I get walcott?

    Repost for a different crowd.

Just done some research into the number of games, (premier league only), that teams have scored in this season.

Games scored in (out of 13)

    12 Arsenal
11 Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Newcastle
    10 Chelsea, Southampton
    9 WBA, Everton
8 Swansea, Spurs, Fulham, Hull, Norwich
    7 AVL, Cardiff, Sunderland, Stoke
    6 West Ham
    5 Crystal Palace

This should give you a fair idea of what teams to play your defenders against whilst highlighting some surprises, for example:
    - Newcastle have only blanked twice all season (in GW 1 and 2!) so try and avoid playing defenders against them.
-Spurs have blanked in 5/13 games, so being forced to play a defender against them isn't the end of the world.

I understand this doesn't take into account things such as form and fixtures but hopefully someone can make use of this.

    Cheers.

      Mignolet,
      Koscielny, Chico, Clyne,
      Oscar, Ramsey, Cabaye, Morrison,
      Rooney, Suárez, Agüero.

      Daniels, Brady, Coleman, Chester.

Arsenal didn't pay 45+ million on a player for nothing, considering they haven't spent one-third that money for more than a decade.

Fantasy aside, hope we think and think twice before we sell a game-changer like Özil just prior to two tasty home fixtures. We won't have casuals to blame this time around.

With that, goodnight folks! Good luck in GW14.

Got a good feeling about young Jordan. He has been excellent this season and getting further forward now, plays every minute and great fixtures. Last season he scored 5 games in half a season so is very capable of getting double figures at some point. I predict an Aaron Ramsey impact soon.

      ------------Giroud
      3 of Cazorla/Ozil/Walcott/Wilshere/Ramsey/Rosicky
      2 of Arteta/Ramsey/Flamini/Wilshere

Yeah that really narrows it down 😆

Arsenal v Hull Wed 4 Dec
Arsenal v Everton Sun 8 Dec
Napoli v Arsenal Wed 11 Dec
Man City v Arsenal Sat 14 Dec 12:45

      Brutal schedule

      1) AW has already stated they are taking a very stront team to Napoli , they cant afford to lose
      2) He said after saturday that Ozil was tired

Question is , Does he rest Ozil against Hull or against Everton. ?

I think there will be half a dozen players he wants to give a little rest to , including Giroud and Ozil , he will probably rest three different for each fixture to avoid too many changes at once.

One player who dosent need rest maybe Walcott , Ramsay too howing no sign of slowing down

They likely to lose against city anyway ,who can afford to take it easy in their champions league game .Bit cruel giving them the early kick off three days after Napoli.

For me Ozil and Giroud will be rested tomorrow. With both returning for the Everton game.

Maybe it is because I am a Walcott owner, maybe because Giroud has been needing rest for weeks/had no returns (The two against the Saints certainly don't count imo)

I think he would rest ozil against hull or maybe take ozil off the 60' min against everton..
Ozil owners, like me, should at least be prepared with their bench..
Wally is too early to bring in as i think he's not showing form yet..

Is funny how Ramsey does not seem tired though. He has started the most games of all Arsenal midfielders in the league (12/13 games). Is he just incredibly fit?
