Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 29

Once more, we scour the weekend’s matches and analyse the press reports for news of any fresh injuries to concern Fantasy managers as we tentatively pencil in plans for the weekend and beyond:

Arsenal
Kieran Gibbs is a doubt for the Gunners’ Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Wednesday evening after being subbed off with a calf complaint in the weekend FA Cup win over Everton.

Cardiff
The Bluebirds centre-half Ben Turner was forced off in the dying minutes of Saturday’s 3-1 win over Fulham due to injury, reports the club’s official website.

Chelsea
Fernando Torres was named in the starting line-up to face Tottenham on Saturday evening but was withdrawn after picking up a problem in the warm-up. Jose Mourinho revealed he could be without the Spaniard for the next fortnight:

“Torres has a muscular problem and even when they are small it is always a couple of weeks. He has to go for scans. He’s already had two problems, in both knees, both ligaments, but his recovery was faster than we expected. He also had a little muscular problem and now he’s having another one. Sometimes it happens. There are other players who have the same. Others have a complete season without problems.”

Fulham
Reports in the local press confirm Ashkan Dejagah was forced off just after the break in the 3-1 defeat at Cardiff due to injury.

Hull City
Jake Livermore was omitted from the matchday squad in yesterday’s 3-0 FA Cup win over Sunderland after picking up a thigh problem, according to local reports.

Man United
David Moyes confirmed Rafael was subbed off late on in the 3-0 win over West Brom after sustaining an ankle knock.

Newcastle
Reports in the local press indicate Loic Remy will be assessed ahead of next weekend’s trip to Fulham. Remy is hopeful of returning in time to face the Cottagers after receiving lengthy treatment on an ankle problem sustained during France’s friendly win over Holland last Wednesday evening.

Southampton
Jack Cork was subbed off in the first-half of Saturday’s win over Palace with an ankle problem. Early reports indicate he left the stadium wearing a protective boot and may be facing weeks on the sidelines.

Sunderland
Gus Poyet confirmed Jozy Altidore, Wes Brown, Valentin Roberge and Craig Gardner all missed yesterday’s FA Cup clash against Hull after picking up knocks.

Tottenham
Michael Dawson was withdrawnin the second-half of Saturday evening’s hammering at Stamford Bridge after suffering a hamstring injury. Mousa Dembele also missed the match with a similar complaint.

West Brom
Claudio Yacob, Chris Brunt and Steven Reid were all forced offin Saturday lunchtime’s home loss to United due to injury. Yacob picked up a hamstring problem, whilst the latter pair both sustained knee injuries.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Sunderland have been in pretty good form lately.
Only yesterday did they look crap and that was partly due to resting some key players.

off the 4-3-3 idea, here atm:

    Mannone - Davis
    Kompany - Baines - Ivan - Ward - Chester
    Haz - Yaya - Nolan - Sterling - Noone
    Suarez - Aguero - Sturridge

then Nolan > AJ or Rambo (probably AJ) after the DGW

Have spent a bit of time in Members Area trying to justify keeping Mata, and for that price his goal threat is shockingly low. Couple that with his lack of FPL output, and I am starting to believe there is little reason to keep besides the allure of a DGW. Another reason to ship Mata is he allows me to keep Lallana for this week's match if I want to bring in Aguero now.

Anyone else getting rid? If I don't do it this week I won't have the stones to ship him the next one.

I think I'm going to give him a stay of execution, but it certainly is tempting to swap him for Yaya/Silva. But it would definitely take a hit and I just feel like he's too good a player not to get some points at some point.

    B. Sissoko + Aguero

Either way will definitely have Yaya, Suarez, Studge, Nolan, Sterling for GW31 (as well as Baines and Evra). Option B would require two extra hits, so leave me 8pts worse off.

Could do with a Rooney injury for a few weeks to his price drops and a couple of price rises of my own. Only 0.6M away from this team for the run in.

    Mannone Adrian

    Koscielny Cahill Fonte Ward Baker

    Hazard Yaya Gerrard Lallana Noone

    Aguero Suarez Rooney

Also have the option of downgrading Gerrard and could probably get Baines/Coleman instead of Fonte but want to keep Gerrard.

Looks like injuries, knocks and niggles are starting to mount up for the end of the season. On the upside, if we know someone is out with an injury for a few games, it should make rotation a little less likely.

They need the results and have extra doubles, my only concern is after all the cup and European games they've played if rotation will play an increasing part in their season.
Worth the risk though I think with Yaya and Aguero, hopefully Nasri will get you enough points not to worry about the odd missed game. As long as you have a playing bench.

Right, need your help big time. Do i either

    A) Adebayor to Lukaku for free
    B) Adebayor, Lambert out for Lukaku and Remy for -4
    C) Adebayor, Lambert and Silva out for Lukaku, Aguero and AJ for -8

I can do C right now but leaves me with 0.0 itb so has to be done now before the price changes?

Other strikers Suarez and other big midfielders are Hazard and Yaya.

    Thanks.

Confused with so many options for the 3 mids beside Yaya and Hazard...

    A) Johnson, Sterling, Bacuna
    B) Nolan, Sterling, Colback
    C) Johnson, Henderson, Noone
    D) Nolan, Sissoko, Brad Johnson

I can afford both Nolan and Johnson by having Coleman, instead of Baines - but I don't want to risk going without Baines in the DGW.

So you mean Sterling above Henderson/Sissoko?

Cannot get both without dumping Baines... Instead, I can use a transfer to go from Nolan to Ramsey / Johnson, if needed.

He bought Rooney last week for sturridge possibly as a 1 week punt even though he had cash to buy RVp instead. How did he choose Rooney over Rvp considering penalty and position disadvantage over Rvp?!I mean are these guys enlightened souls who can see future or just luck again and again!!

RvPs attitude has been shockingly bad of late.

Its obvious he doesn't want to be at United.

And Rooney has more than matched his output at a cheaper price.

And yeah some played the punt pre wc many don't have a wildcard and getting RvP eats into dgw funds.

Not so enlightened in my opinion.

I've got just enough cash to do Ade to Aguerro this week for my FT. Should I wait for after Barca game? Will his price rise by then, because that'll mean I can't afford him this week? Would it be better to keep Ade for one more week, then bring Aguerro in for gw31?
