The Numbers Game – 2014/15 Review – Everton

Having finished fifth in their first season under Roberto Martinez, Everton failed to live up to our expectations last time around. With Europa League duties adding to their schedule, the Merseysiders stumbled home in eleventh spot, winning back-to-back matches on just three occasions in a bitterly disappointing campaign for Toffees fans and Fantasy managers alike.

In our latest article for members, we assess the Toffees’ squad, focusing on their key performers in terms of creativity and goal threat.

What is the title of a 2009 Tony-nominated musical, which is also a Christian hymn and a Jewish holiday hymn?

All these Arsenal fan pages, and people are like ''Linked with 100 players, bought one''.

Like come on, which Arsenal target has even been bought/sold so far? Martinez... 29-year old, never played in a big league before... Milner... don't we have too many box-to-box midfielders already?

I still believe we will sign Cech/Leno and Schneiderlin/Kondogbia before the end of the TW. If we do sign a striker and get rid of one of Walcott/Giroud is one I'll be looking at with interest.

You looked nailed on for Cech and if you can add Schneiderlin too that should be more than enough to give Chelsea a run for their money next year.

I might be the only Arsenal fan saying so, but I don't want Cech. Buying Cech means we would keep the younger Szczesny and boot Ospina out.

Whereas Leno will come cheap, I think he is as good as ter-Stegen, and we can keep Ospina as the experienced back-up. Ideal.

Yes, I would not mind at all, once the requirements are fulfilled first. 😉
Honestly though, would want to see Chambers play more games at CB next season, though can't see it with happening with Mertesacker, Koscielny and Gabriel ahead of him in the pecking order.

The Arsenal has such a big squad that Le Prof's main problem will be making sure players get enough game time not to get grumpy.

What do we think of two squads, one for League and Champions' League, and the other for FA Cup and Worthington Cup.

In the one, Oezil will be number 10, and in the other, Jack will be number 10.

In the one, Giroud will be number 9, and in the other, Welbeck will be number 9.

In the one, Koscielny and Mertesacker will be CBs, and in the other Paulista and Chambers will be CBs.

In the one, Monreal and Bellerin will be fullbacks, and in the other, Gibbs and Debuchy will be fullbacks.

In the one, Sanchez and Walcott will be the mercurial marauding winger, and in the other, Chamberlain and Gnabry will be the mercurial marauding wingers.

In the one, Cazorla will be the puppet master, and in the other, Zelalem will be the puppet master.

In the one, Coquelin will be the enforcer, and in the other, Ramsey will be in the enforcer.

Or should players be happy with being on the bench or out of the squad for months at a time?

In whose place, that is the question.
You'd not want to have more than 2 RBs in the squad, especially as Chambers can fill in too. Debuchy is really experienced, and at 30, still has a good 2-3 years left. And as good as Jenkinson is, Bellerin is the better all-round footballer, and an exciting prospect.

Fingers crossed to see how Wenger plays this one out.

Jenkinson should be sent on loan to Man United to get some CL/EL experience.

They need a specialist right back. They've been reduced to using Valencia in that position.

In my opinion, I think City need a CB (a good one), a CM to replace Yaya and maybe a LM/RM who will play alongside Silva.

In an ideal world for you guys, you would have signed Varane, Reus and Pogba. 😀

According to a French newspaper, Arsenal is in for Lacazette and Nabil Fekir as well. Don't really need Fekir but Lacazette could be good for Arsenal.

Cech looks like he's on his way there. The tricky one might be the CDM with other clubs interested, but there's a chance.

Can be serious title contenders with these signings.

The fans loved him last time around and he really did start to get into the swing of things come the end. A few training ground pointers could make him more teamy, but if he has lots of game time greedy is fine. I like mirrallas too for that same reason. Game time also an issue of course.

If Rodgers gets the bullet a new manager would want to bring in his own backroom staff. Pepijn Lijnders seems like he's the type of guy who could be relocated elsewhere in such an event... My instinct is that this would be a temporary appointment.

Of course people will say he's highly rated, so were most of our flops last summer apparently!
