The final stanza of Gameweek 17 sees Arsenal and Manchester City do battle under the Emirates lights tonight. The Gunners are unbeaten at home since the opening Gameweek but will be wary of a Sky Blues outfit that’s replete with attacking talents.
Although the Gunners rank second for big chances created at home (26), their shot-conversion rate at the Emirates (8.6%) is far from exemplary. Nonetheless, they can always fall back on the second-best defensive record (five goals against) of any team at home. Additionally, the North Londoners chart second-bottom for both goals conceded (13) and second-bottom for shots inside the box conceded (86) and joint-bottom for big chances conceded (17) across the entire campaign – highlighting their defensive prowess.
Man City’s rearguard was exposed with alarming regularity over the previous four Gameweeks. Indeed, the Sky Blues allowed the joint-most big chances (12) and ranked joint-third for goals conceded (eight). On the flip side, they lay claim to the joint-best defensive record in away matches, having surrendered just six goals in seven outings. Only three teams have chalked up fewer away goals (seven) than Manuel Pellegrini’s charges, though, which should encourage those Fantasy mangers who have recruited from Arsenal’s defence.
