The FFS Cup – Sponsored by FanDuel – The Winner

After ten weeks of tough competition, the time has come to reveal the winner of our latest Fantasy Football Scout FPL Cup.

There was more than £1,000 worth of prizes available across this competition for UK based entrants, courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well a £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers.

Played out in the lowest-scoring Gameweek of the season so far, a nail-biting final saw A Manager Has No Name edge out Moin 36-35 to win the top prize of a £200 Amazon voucher and a £100 FanDuel Credit.

He now joins donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark and last year’s champion Leon Harris in our Cup hall of fame.

A Manager Has No Name’s lead would have been even greater if had he not swapped Stoke City defender Erik Pieters – who earned four points in the Potter’s 1-1 draw with Everton – for Manchester United’s Phil Jones, who limped off before the hour-mark to deliver a single point.

In the end, the captaincy proved decisive with the 6,478 placed Moin opting for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who failed to score, while our winner placed the armband on Alexis Sanchez, who managed to squeak an assist in Arsenal’s defeat to Watford.

Alvaro Negredo’s penalty also helped take 21,761 ranked A Manager Has No Name over the finishing line, although this was cancelled out by injuries in defence, to Jones and Spurs’ Danny Rose, and by Moin earning an assist from his key differential, Eden Hazard.

Despite missing out on the top prize, Moin still claims a £100 Amazon voucher and £50 FanDuel credit.

The third place play-off was another close contest, with 9,047 ranked Back on the Horse beating 43,547 placed Hazardous Blue 35 to 31.

Hazardous Blue’s transfer of Daley Blind to Antonio Valencia cost him two points, after the Dutchman earned a pair of FPL bonus points in Manchester United’s 0-0 draw with Hull City in Gameweek 23.

But it was in goal where this clash was won, with Hazardous Blue benching of Hull’s Eldin Jakupovic, who earned 11 points, in favour of Arsenal stopper Petr Cech, who conceded twice against Watford, proving costly.

Meanwhile, Back on the Horse’s picked Burnley custodian Tom Heaton, who returned nine points. This was enough to see him pick up the third place prize of a £50 voucher and £30 FanDuel Credit. Hazardous Blue, meanwhile, takes home a £20 FanDuel credit.

Congratulations to our prize winners and thanks to all those who took part in another successful Cup competition.

We will bring you details of our future tournaments very soon.

I'm planning to bring Costa in next week (just enough money lined up)

      BUT

I'm playing it risky this week with Jesus as part of a 3-5-2...

If he doesn't play I have no bench players that will likely feature/score (need to fix)

Is it worth taking the -4 hit and bringing in Costa this week as insurance and playing 4-3-3 with my cheaper midfielder (Capoue) on the bench?

      Full Team

      Grant (
      Stones - Walker- Coleman
      Alii - Sanchez - Phillips - Lallana - Capoue
      Jesus - Lukaku

      Bench - Jakupovic - Diomande - Ake - Kingsley

Maybe Valdes to Jaku to free up funds.

A lot of people think Giroud is unlikely to start and mainly suggest Carroll or Benteke. Could take a punt on Jesus with those freed up funds

      Hi guys,

I have activated my Wildcard and this is the team I selected, would you please tell me what you think?
      Heaton, Jakupovich
      Cahill, McAuley, Coleman, Lescott, Holgate
      Phillips, Hazard, Yaya, Capoue, Oviedo
      Costa, Kane, Lukaku

After this gameweek I will get back in Sanchez, Alli, Ibra, Defoe and one cheap forwader. Do this sound like a ggod plan?

      Muchas gracias!

I wouldn't get 2 city midfielders in with gw26 blank.

You are not gonna get much love on here from Yaya and Oviedo.

Choose Alli or Eriksen over Hazard and Sane or Sterling over Yaya. Then you should have money to improve Oviedo. I'd be looking at players like Snodgrass, Sigurdsson, Antonio, Zaha.

Best cheap midfielder is probably Tom Carroll of Swansea at 4.2m

So maybe try a midfield of Phillips Alli/Eriksen Sane/Sterling Tom Carroll Snodgrass/Zaha/Antonio
