Dugout Discussion – Saturday

After Sanchez’ delivers a double-figure haul, the day rolls on with five-afternoon kick-offs, with attention switching to Old Trafford as Manchester United host Watford.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic heads into today’s contest once again backed by the majority of Fantasy Premier League managers for the eighth consecutive Gameweek. Over 957,000 (22.1%) opt for the Swede as their skipper for a clash with a Hornets defence that has kept just a single clean sheet since Gameweek 10.

Elsewhere, Everton’s trip to Middlesbrough will be keenly monitored by Romelu Lukaku’s owners. Brought in by more than 186,000 FPL managers ahead of the Teesside trip, they’ll be looking for instant returns from a striker that produced 21-points in Gameweek 24. Lukaku is backed by over 305,000 (7%) managers with the armband.

Sunderland’s Jermain Defoe is the other key asset on show. Brought in by 89,000 ahead of today’s outing, more than 87,000 (2%) have turned to the Black Cats’ veteran for their captain ahead of his meeting with Southampton at the Stadium of Light.

Meanwhile West Ham United, without Andy Carroll, face West Brom at the London Stadium, while Crystal Palace will be seeking a quick recovery following their 4-0 hammering by Sunderland as they make the trip to Stoke City.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So, if in doubt, they give it to the guy who clearly had either zero touch or an incidental touch? Evans scored that goal. McAuley might have touched it also, at the same time, so...
Give it to McAuley? Absurd decision.

Baines blocked someone from getting to the toilet ahead of him, Coleman intercepted a towel meant for Middlesbrough locker room, both yet to be added.

I was at the game. Baines never touched the ball in the first half and has one run late in the game. DeRoon and Fabio were the best players today. Morgan was Evertons.

Worth doing Sanchez to Siggy? Keeping in mind that I might not be able to afford him back?

    Had bought him for 10.9.

You need to decide if you want Sig on a short term basis v Sanchez for the long term - go with your gut.

Do we actually believe ownership of players plays a part in borderline decisions in awarding points?

All seems a bit conspiracy theory, although from memory highly owned players do seem to get the benefit of the doubt more often than not.
