Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Bournemouth vs Man City

Gameweek 25 concludes at the Vitality Stadium with Bournemouth paying host to Pep Guardiola’s Mancheseter City.

Once again Pep’s teamsheet steals the pre-match headlines, with Gabriel Jesus preferred as his central striker, leaving Sergio Aguero on the bench for a third successive outing.

Transferred in by more than 210,000 ahead of Gameweek 25, Jesus is skippered by 156,000 tonight up against a Cherries defence that has shipped more Premier League goals than any other side in 2017, conceding three or more in eight of their last twelve matches.

That defence is at last bolstered tonight by an array of returnees, as Charlie Daniels, Simon Francis and Adam Smith all overcome knocks to claim berths.

Elsewhere, manager Eddie Howe prefers Jordan Ibe to Junior Stanislas on the right flank, as Josh King again leads the attack.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Should Siggy be my priority target rather than Hazard if I have Costa and don't have Siggy yet ?

Considering who to get for Sanchez.

personally i think hazard is over priced this season, that extra 1/2m can really get you points in df

Thanks. His recent point return has really not justified his price tag.

For a hit, I could do Sanchez & De Roon -> Siggy & Mane. I think it looks ok if Liverpool have a game confirmed in GW26.

Dropped from 47K to 129k in two weeks. Last week no Lukaku and captained Kun, this week dropped Kun and brought in Jesus and captained him. Was ecstatic when I saw City's lineup with Jesus up top and then 14 minutes later came the realisation it was all coming unstuck !!! I guess I should look at the bright side as I held onto Sanchez for his game against Hull or it would have been even worse !

at least the price changes have slowed up a bit in the last few weeks, or it least it seems that way to me. I have noticed far fewer jumps/drops of 0.2 or 0.3 in a game week compared to earlier in the year.

Jeez, I was looking at Sanchez + Defoe to Mane + Costa. Mane's already gone up in price, Costa is about to and Sanchez is about to drop. Reckon I'm looking at 0.9m swing. Was sitting pretty with 0.5m to spare after that move, down to 0.4m already and doesn't look good for a post presser transfer next week.

      D) Wildcard ffs. 🙂

As far as Ibra is concerned, you need to be clear on if you want to retain Ibra or not. Same for Sanchez. It's a risky and divisive decision on these forums, and so you won't really get anywhere with choices like those. Those pro-Ibra will say A, those willing to sell will say one of B or C. Either all your choices should involve Ibra or none at all. Hope you get what I'm saying.

      I like B.

        🙂

Wildcard decision was made last week - saving for the DGWs.

        B) is my current favourite also, although the temptation of Mane for LEI is quite strong. Will likely mean 1 less starter for GW28, but may still be worth it.

Great pick with Sterling. I brought him in once this season for a hit, I think because of that Sanchez 'injury' with Chile and he got dropped/rested for no reason whatsoever. Can't go there despite his form.

So which, if any GW28 fixture do people reckon will be freed up after next weekend?

Arsenal and Burnley should win easily
United & Chelsea ought to be okay

IMO Spurs is the one, Poch fields weakened teams in the cup and they're lucky to still be there.
Boro and City faltering wouldn't shock me either... Boro's form is dreadful so they might rest players. Huddersfield are a decent side and could surprise City.

Not sure why Spurs are considered as default team to go out, its Fulham afterall. Their defense is pretty meh, so even with a weak side, it wont be that tough.... 😮

Ok, so a couple problems here.

    Heaton. Valdes.
    Alonso. Walker. Coleman. Brunt. Amat.
Sanchez. Alli. Siggy. Phillips. De Roon.
    Kane. Lukaku. Jesus.

    1 FT, 1.2 ITB.

What moves to make with 26 and 28 in mind?
Particularly Jesus, how bad is his injury? Original plan was to hold him for Sunderland in 27.

I wouldn't be worrying about prices drops at this time of year. First half of the year is to get that money up for these sort of weeks. I'd rather find out who is definitely playing over .5 in team value.

    Haz Phillips Eriksen Siggy
    Lukaku(c) Barnes
    (Mannone, Ibra, Sanchez, Amat)

Any thoughts on what to do so I don't have to play Naughton this week? Thinking of either Amat->FM and double on Ev defence or Sanchez->Mane

Well obviously I'm going to wait but nice to get some ideas when it's likely all Prem teams will go through

Hazard had one terrific goal week 24- but that would be his only goal in many weeks. KDB to Siggy seems better

Rather Siggy next week, no rush when he's at Chelsea next.

I've always owned him so am aware of his track record but I'm also aware of the Chelsea defence this season so prefer to back them at home this week.

            Time and place I guess.

    any defender 4.1m playing?

got stanilas 5.1, amat 4.0, and .8 in the bank. want snodgrass for a hit instead of stanilas. other thing i can think of is fernandez for amat, then could potentially buy Zaha, but CPL are horrible.

Should I just take Stanilas out for a hit to snodgrass, basically a -2

Not sure there is anyone at 4.1,just do stan-snoddy and upgrade capoue when you have a bit more itb

just found this guy called Stephens 4.0m starting past 3 games for Southampton, anyone know more about him? Looks like a contender for an escape throwaway 4m defender.

Has Stephens been replacing anyone about to be replaced?

Stanislas seems not nailed to start anymore. It's ok to have Routledge as backup though.
