FanDuel Social League Final Results

Our inaugural FanDuel social league champion is Philman, who, thanks to a pair of third-place finishes in the final two rounds, timed his march to the top perfectly.

A fourth found score of 264 points was achieved in part after drafting in Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who fired two past Sunderland in a 4-0 victory at the Stadium of Light.

Another canny transfer for our winner was Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, who also supplied a brace against Hull City at the Emirates in Saturday’s early kick-off.

With the top three Gameweek scores counting towards the final tally, Philman’s combined score of 790.25 points proved unbeatable.

He wins the top prize of a £50 Amazon voucher and a £50 FanDuel credit.

The second place prize of a £30 Amazon voucher and £30 FanDuel credit goes to jeccross, who had three top 20 finishes, including an eighth placing in the first round. His best three total score of 776 points was not enough to catch Philman.

Gezep takes the third place prize of a £20 Amazon voucher and £20 FanDuel credit. The winner of the fourth place price of a £10 FanDuel credit is Iiiusions , who had been the overall leader since round one but a disastrous final round, where he finished 63rd, resulted in a dip in the overall standings.

If all four Gameweek scores had been counted, Iiiusions’ combined tally of 959 points would have handed him the lead, by 4.5 points over second placed darkish and Philman.

The fifth to tenth place winners of a £5 FanDuel credit are elbow55, darkish, sl8ter, supercool and Allezchef.

The final overall standings are available here.

With weekly prizes also available, gibbo1982 wins a £25 Amazon voucher as the top scoring manager in round four.

As with Philman, he was another to find success with Sanchez, who brought in 65.75 points and was his top scoring player.

Fielding Alfie Mawson, who scored against Leicester City for Paul Clement’s Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, was another shrewd decision.

Joining him in winning a £10 FanDuel credit as one of the round’s top five highest scorers are: Philman, gzep, elbow55 and giizmo.

While our social league is now complete, there are plenty more weekly and daily contests taking place next week for the Gameweek 26 fixtures.

Look out next week for our Weekly Shop article as well as our FanDuel Focus to guide you through your selections.

Congratulations to all our winners – we will hopefully bring you news of the next FanDuel Social League very soon.

Comiserations to Iiiusions. I thought he was the wire-to-wire deserved winner. I guess he lost out as his lowest score came in a higher scoring week than mine, but can count himself unlucky as his total over the 4 weeks was the highest.

Also getting in a low owned player like Gabbiadini was key in that last week.

If the 7 matches are cancelled in GW28, I can't see a better replacement, looking at the fixtures.

      1. Arteta
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

Yup, they have lovely fixtures and I'm without Chelsea attacker (excluding Alonso's threat). I can't get Costa for Jesus in less than 2 moves and I'm confident that Eden can cover him. The problem is I know I'll want Sanchez back but if he could drop to 11.4 it wouldn't hurt me at all.

I'm stuck in the same position. Sanchez to Hazard or Ibra to Costa or both for (-4).

      If Arsenal & United blank both GW26 & GW28 I think that's a sensible move.

It depends on a number of factors. How many players do you currently have with a guaranteed GW28 fixture? Do you have Lukaku?

If you have 5+, and already have Lukaku, then I would say (B)
If you have fewer than five, and don't have Lukaku, get Lukaku
If you have fewer than five and have Lukaku, look at someone like Carroll...

      1. Sotamendi84
        • 7 Years

I have 7 gw28ers + Lukaku so you suggest B thanks. caroll could an option too (west ham fan also) but need to wait on injury news

If there are no more GW28 fixtures (i.e. only 6 play), I wouldn't suggest having more than 7 players playing that week unless you plan to WC very soon after. I will have 8, but only because I have Tom Carroll and Jaku who were brought in as bench fodder before fourth round fixtures.

What I'm saying is Costa (with two fixtures) > Carroll (with three)

7 GW28ers + Lukaku, is enough if there are only three games in GW28. I still wouldn't make any of the move you have suggested however, unless you are planning to bring Ibra straight back in for GW27, or Sanhcez back from GW29 onwards.

None of those are likely to have a game in GW28

I'd keep Sanchez and Ibra, and look at ways of bringing Siggy and Lukaku with GW28 in mind.

Accumulator with the bookies of the 6 PL teams all going through (excluding Arsenal and Leicester as that is pretty much guaranteed to go ahead) is odds of about 1.5-1, so with the few percent for the rake taken out that's about 30%

Most of the matches the bookies are only about 2 - 3 % overound. Just done the maths on a leading bookies website 1.34/1 for all 6 to qualify . Take out about 15% for the overounds gives 1.2/1 ie a 1/5 shot they all get through. Bookies think there will be no upsets.

I expected Sanchez to have way higher price fall rate and have fallen already, but he has survived 6 nights.
I will probably wait until FAcup matches are done to think about any transfers, but I can't stop being tempted by doing Sanchez->Mane everyday.
My only concern is playing Siggy at Chelsea, which may not be the worst thing.
    I bought Sanchez at 11.0.
    What would you do?

This is my current gw26 line up:

    Heaton
    Alonso Brunt Coleman
    Sigurdsson Alli Phillips Pedro
    Lukaku Costa Rondon

    Grant Friend Holgate Sanchez

I have shipped Alexis for Hazard (also bought at 11.0). I've also done Zlat to Costa for a hit. My view is that I can't have that kind of capital tied up and, between Hazard and Costa, I expect them to score more than four points more than Tom Carroll and Erik Pieters.

The important thing for me is making sure that I have the cash to bring Alexis back after the blanks. I wouldn't use funds released to upgrade more mediocre players

      1. AndyCook
          7 years, 2 months ago

You have to remember that transfers are valuable so I never like getting rid of someone I know I will want back. In GW29 I'd like Sanchez back so I'm happy to bench, I have lots of TV though so can just field Baines instead which isn't bad

      2. AndyCook
          7 years, 2 months ago

I'd swap him out of the only thing stopping you is the potential for upsets. You can get him back if you don't spend the money so why wait? You know Arsenal will miss GW28 as they have Burnley, and any upsets at all is unlikely

It's weird how happy I felt when Jesus had that injury - 19 year old potential superstar, sadness should have been the right reaction.

But considering I'm on that trail already, a Mane and Sanchez injury wouldn't be that bad as well over the coming weeks 😛

So,no Rose Spurs, better avoid their attacking players?(i was thinking to replace Jesus with Kane, but probably will take Costa),

If Fulham beat Spurs, I might end up tripling up on the attack, simply because it's the best option with upcoming fixtures

A goal a game for Aguero the rest of the season would probably be about 7.5 PPG on average. That's worth his price imo, espeically with the occasional assist.

          Latest Wenger quote:

"No matter what happens, I will manage next season, whether it’s here or somewhere else, I am not sure"

Terrible -- he needs to zip it before his authority is completely ruined and they go into free fall

Shouldn't even have entertained any comment except "concentrating on the next game".

No one makes the same fuss over Barca losing 4-0 to PSG, who aren't as good as Bayern. Honestly, one loss and everyone knee-jerks to a 'Wenger-out'.

It's not exactly a knee-jerk though. Not saying it's right, but they have had the same late-season implosion forever now, always getting 3rd or 4th and getting knocked out right after the CL groups every season

The Wenger adversity preceeded the Bayern game so its not knee jerky . It's a recurring theme which won't go away particularly if as I expect Arsenal are not top 4 at the end of the season.

                  1. Fergie left partly because he knew that he was leaving an over the hill / not good enough for another season squad behind which needed major renovation.
                  2. Arsenal will not appoint Moyes.

Or LVG? or Jose? United have had one top four finish since he left. Arsenal haven't missed the top four since Wenger joined.

Yes, Arsenal have a few class acts (Sanchez, Kos, Cech), but to suggest that they should be doing more than finishing top three this season is a push. Chelsea and Citeh much stronger

I mean be top four or higher. I'm not saying they won't drop out of the top four, but suggestions that they "won't even be top 4" are based on pure guesswork as at the moment they are still in it along with Spurs, United, City and Liverpool.

Sorry I think I misunderstood what you were saying . I thought you meant they could push on and achieve something eg go for the title now they are out of the Champions League I don't think finishing 2nd , 3rd of 4th really matters it would be like finishing 2nd last year . I agree ruling them out of a push for the top 4 would be silly way too early to call that

Wenger won't win anything meaningful for the next two seasons, unless we get lucky in the league. They need to start getting their ducks in a row for when he leaves, we've all seen what happened to United.

OK . A leading bookie has a top 4 finish odds of :-
                              Chelsea 1/100
                              Man City 1/5
                              Spurs 4/9
                              Liverpool 4/6
                              Man U & Arsenal EV
So they are actually ousiders for a top 4 finish.

Wenger got too much stick for a long time when he didnt deserve it - Coming top four in the years of minimal spending after the new stadium was great work - They lost important players practically every season to rivals (Nasri, Fabregas, Adebayor, RVP etc) but consistently managed UCL football and then broke their cup drought with successive FA Cups. But the last couple of seasons has been sub-par - money has been spent, but the players are consistently failing in the big away games in particular. Arsenal have been dreadful away to Everton, United, Chelsea, Bayern and City in recent weeks (And for most of the Bournemouth game). They still can't replace an injured Cazorla, with consistent central midfield issues which, tbh, has plagued them for years. The sad thing about the Bayern result was that it was so expected, even if Bayern are not as terrifying as they used to be. Something has to change.

Don't see it as replacing or not replacing one player

                      It's a collective mental thing

The one player who looks like he could be a leader (Sánchez) has given in to sulking

About 9 players from the invincibles would've given him a slap by now

He means go ahead (with the blank) or at least that's what I meant to say. Because for that game to be played in GW28 we'd need both Millwall to beat Leicester AND Sutton to beat Arsenal so it's almost certain to be a blank... I can see why you're confused by his wording
