FanDuel Social League Final Results

Our inaugural FanDuel social league champion is Philman, who, thanks to a pair of third-place finishes in the final two rounds, timed his march to the top perfectly.

A fourth found score of 264 points was achieved in part after drafting in Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini, who fired two past Sunderland in a 4-0 victory at the Stadium of Light.

Another canny transfer for our winner was Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, who also supplied a brace against Hull City at the Emirates in Saturday’s early kick-off.

With the top three Gameweek scores counting towards the final tally, Philman’s combined score of 790.25 points proved unbeatable.

He wins the top prize of a £50 Amazon voucher and a £50 FanDuel credit.

The second place prize of a £30 Amazon voucher and £30 FanDuel credit goes to jeccross, who had three top 20 finishes, including an eighth placing in the first round. His best three total score of 776 points was not enough to catch Philman.

Gezep takes the third place prize of a £20 Amazon voucher and £20 FanDuel credit. The winner of the fourth place price of a £10 FanDuel credit is Iiiusions , who had been the overall leader since round one but a disastrous final round, where he finished 63rd, resulted in a dip in the overall standings.

If all four Gameweek scores had been counted, Iiiusions’ combined tally of 959 points would have handed him the lead, by 4.5 points over second placed darkish and Philman.

The fifth to tenth place winners of a £5 FanDuel credit are elbow55, darkish, sl8ter, supercool and Allezchef.

The final overall standings are available here.

With weekly prizes also available, gibbo1982 wins a £25 Amazon voucher as the top scoring manager in round four.

As with Philman, he was another to find success with Sanchez, who brought in 65.75 points and was his top scoring player.

Fielding Alfie Mawson, who scored against Leicester City for Paul Clement’s Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium, was another shrewd decision.

Joining him in winning a £10 FanDuel credit as one of the round’s top five highest scorers are: Philman, gzep, elbow55 and giizmo.

While our social league is now complete, there are plenty more weekly and daily contests taking place next week for the Gameweek 26 fixtures.

Look out next week for our Weekly Shop article as well as our FanDuel Focus to guide you through your selections.

Congratulations to all our winners – we will hopefully bring you news of the next FanDuel Social League very soon.

Planning route back to get Ibra back for week 27. Who should go?

    A Lukaku (Spurs in 27)
    B Kane (EVE in 27)
C Costa (West Ham in 27)

Probably A but would want back for 28 unless any cup shocks. Could pay off if Zlatan captain and gets a couple of goals

Single GW game option for the FPL next season? Season long games are starting to be perceived as being a bit test-crickety nowadays, especially for the younger generation. Personally, I'd warm to it.

Have you tried the head-to-head leagues or the cup that starts on GW18? H2H is good for one week games and could be more of the T20/Big Bash crickety style you crave.

Just going to float this around again, GW26 1FT and 1.1 ITB, any advice welcome...

    Heaton - Robinson
    Alonso - Baines - McAuley - Amat - Ake
    Sanchez - Alli - Eriksen - Sigurdsson - Phillips
    Ibrahimovic - Lukaku - Carroll

    A, Sanchez -> Hazard
    B, Ake -> Robertson
    C, Something else

Presuming there are 3 fixtures in GW28, I agree on B. The import thing is having Lukaku this week, and Ibra next. Keeping Sanchez is a potential bonus, although for sheer points potential for GW26, selling for Haz or Mane would be tempting.

A totally random and irrelevant post coming up but I've gotta say it and get it off my chest....

Its about Sissoko mainly. Toon fans warned Spurs about how inconsistent he is but still signed him without looking at how he performed for 3 years in the PL it seems. Toon fans warned Palace about Pardew but they still brought him in. They warned about big Sams love for the green stuff and general ineptness.Toon fans ranted years ago about how uncaring and financially motivated their owner is.

Toon fans are showing immense support for their team in the 2nd division with 50k plus every home game to watch teams like Brentford (no disrespect intended).

So why are they continually being called "fickle and dillusional" at every turn by less informed football observers? They know a thing or two those Geordies.

    Just sayin....

Who's been calling them that ? They are the most genuine fans I have met and support through thick and thin. Any vitriol aimed at the owner is fully justified imo.

Totally agree yet anytime you listen to any phone in, talk show, whatever the old "fickle and delusional" description gets labelled. Been happening for years it seems. Totally agree about Mr Ashley as well. Just wondering if he's back at the purse strings again at that club which would explainnno sugnings in January....could be totally wrong of course.

All true fans know the ins and outs of their own club.

Arsenal fans get the same things from these 'informed football observers' who spend half their criticising and picking apart Arsenal but when they see a fan say something negative they label them as fickle and dillusional too
Most are just media United and pool fans who don't see the challenges of real football clubs and say they should be more like their Russian gas or Arab oil sponsored rivals

      Joins you in rant 🙂

I can see Arsenal fans frustration when they air their grievances about the club (wenger, no signings etc). It seems true fans arent allowed to complain about anything but it boils my pi** when pundits etc try to tar a group of fans all with the same cliche soaked brush. These views can stick with casual listeners and fans.

Hi, fickle and delusional fan here! 😉

We had a situation with a certain section of fans some years back thinking we were better than we actually were, mainly post Keegan up to post Robson.

Unfortunately some of the media played on this at the time and talking from experience, some fans still think that's the way we all are.

      1. Melvin Udall
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 2 months ago

And that reminds me of something else.

I think its totally OK to hope for the best for your club. "Aim for the stars you might land on the moon" sort of thing. Footballs about dreams of cups and titles. Leicester proved that you can acheive if you dream and why for me last season was the best since Blackburn also dared to dream and be dellusional.

Yet these fans outside the top 6 are called foolish for wanting the best...why? It seems its only an elite group of fans who are allowed the audacity to dream.

Fair comment.....and when there is a clear consensus of opinion from across the football world about a player or manager and lack of basic football knowledge exists then a perfect storm situation can arise when club drops 30 million for Sissoko.

Anyone who watched enough Prem League in recent years should have known how inconsistent, or just seemingly disinterested, Sissoko could be. I was a bit shocked when Spurs signed him for as much as they did. Just poor business. Glaringly poor.

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Alonso *Coleman Holgate *Smith (Pieters)
Hazard Eriksen Alli *Phillips (de Roon)
    Costa *Lukaku (Ibrahimovic)

    1.2 ITB

Assuming no cup-sets or injuries, I'm thinking :
    26. Holgate > *Brunt
    27. Eriksen or Alli > *Sigurdsson
    28. Pieters > *Mawson or Robertson / Maguire

Leaves me just *7 Gw28 players...
Is it worth considering more hits, if so, who?! Would have about 1.0-1.2 to spare.

TBH, Brunt is more with an eye on 26 + 27. Could go off piste with Robertson instead, but for -4, brunt feels a lot more reliable. I also could do with the wba cover/differential- lots of McAuleys and Evans' floating around our ML

After reading Fever Pitch, I thought Arsenal fans were different class. The way they have treated Wenger in recent years is despicable. They have no appreciation for what he has done for the club over the decades. The man is Mr. Arsenal, cut him and he bleeds Arsenal. Even if Fergie had a similar record to Wenger, United fans would never turn on their manager like this. No wonder Liverpool fans used to say Highbury/Emirates was so quiet, it was full of fickle, prawn sandwich eating supporters with no respect for history and service and loyalty.

    Rant over.

Normally the scoutcast would be out at this stage of the week. Fa cup hurry up and be over so we know what we're doing with our transfers. Its been painful to sit here with 2 FT's and watch prices rise and fall.

FA Cup results should shape your team.

Deeney looks an odd pick and GW27 could be tricky for captain.

Quite an interesting season for you.
Unless you think Deeney is going to score double figures, you are just planning for the future and an injury wrecks those quickly. S'ton could easily blank in 28 also.
