Paddy Says – Gameweek 29

As befits the morning after St Patrick’s Day, Paddy will be handing out a number of hangover remedies today, from greasy breakfasts and fizzy drinks to Anytime Goalscorer and Clean Sheet odds.

There’s also the small matter of Enhanced Offers available to customers signing up today – and you don’t even have to be suffering from the mother of all headaches, or waking up at Cheltenham, or even hungover at all to take advantage.

We’ll start with the eye-popping 18-1 Paddy is offering on Liverpool to beat Man City. In the league, the Reds have won three of their last four while City have kept three clean sheets in a row. But how will their Champions League exit affect Pep Guardiola’s men? And can Liverpool win on the road for the first time since Gameweek 17?

If the answer to that last question is yes, then 18-1…

More down to earth (but stil tempting) odds are also available, like the 8-1 on Arsenal to beat West Brom and the 7-1 on Man United to beat Middlesbrough.

And if it’s a tasty Acca you crave this morning, Paddy’s got Chelsea, Everton and Leicester all to win 25-1.

Enhanced winnings are credited in free bets. Be sure to check the terms and conditions that apply on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18 or over. If you’re going to wager, please always gamble responsibly.

Romelu Lukaku was the runaway winner in our captaincy poll this week, with Fantasy managers clearly able to look past any possible fallout from the brouhaha surrounding his new contract and the lack of his signature anywhere near it.

Paddy is perhaps slightly less convinced, giving him equal billing at the lowest end of the market with Sergio Aguero and Diego Costa on 1.90.

The Chelsea man is well ahead Bournemouth’s current goal machine, Josh King, as the most purchased player of the Gameweek. But the Cherries midfielder is 2.75 to score at home to Swansea, which seems generous for a man who’s managed eight in his last seven while the Swans have shipped nine from their last four matches on the road.

In the absence of Harry Kane, 72,000+ new managers are hoping Son doesn’t go down for Spurs at home to Southampton tomorrow. The general feeling is the South Korean (2.50) will take over striking duties, although there’s also Vicent Janssen (2.60) to consider as well.

The Dutchman, however, doesn’t even make it into the top 30 for transfers-in this week, whereas Son is at number five – just behind Dele Alli, who is 3.00 to score against the Saints.

No mention of Southampton is complete until the words ‘Manolo’ and ‘Gabbiadini’ have been typed out. The red-hot forward is 3.40 to add to his four goals from three league starts.

Burnley striker Ashley Barnes has snuck on to the lower reaches of the top 30 chart this week, with nearly 17,000 new managers hoping he can continue his fine form. He’s scored two in his last four starts – both away – and you can get 4.33 on him to continue that trend at Sunderland.

There’s only one Man United defender – Antonio Valenica – in the top 30 for transfers-in this week, but Paddy has the Red Devils as 1.90 favourites to keep a clean sheet, which has much to do with managerless Middlesbrough being the opposition.

Seamus Coleman continues to gather new owners, and he’s joined in the top 30 this week by team-mate Ashley Williams as Fantasy managers seek a Goodison Park shut-out against Hull. Paddy’s odds of 2.00 reflect that.

Palace defenders remain under the Fantasy radar, but the 2.29 on them to blank visitors Watford is worth a look. The Eagles have kept consecutive clean sheets and the Hornets have bulged no nets in four of their last six away trips.

Stoke City’s Erik Pieters is a surprise name in the top 30, what with the Potters hosting Chelsea today.

But Mark Hughes’ men have kept three clean sheets in their last four starts and famously kept the Man City attack quiet – ruining a number of triple captaincy punts on Sergio Aguero along the way – at the Etihad last time out.

There’s a bumper 5.50 on Stoke shutting down the league leaders this afternoon.

Do I drop Coutinho or Firmino?

Firmino has a great record vs City but is a slight injury doubt. Coutinho played terribly last week but isn't a doubt.

    Is Firmino going to play??

Deciding whether to do sterling or Firmino to Sanchez for a hit or just leave it. I've got no other pool or city cover if it's helpful.
