Dugout Discussion – West Brom vs Arsenal

The Gameweek begins at The Hawthorns as West Brom host Arsenal to offer immediate interest for Fantasy managers.

Alexis Sanchez is the main focus. Currently owned by a modest 26%, despite remaining the top scoring asset this season, he is surely a key target for the season run-in given Arsenal’s looming double Gameweeks. However, with obvious unrest in the Gunners camp surrounding the Chilean, his performance and output today will come under scrutiny.

Sanchez starts, although it’s not yet clear if he will lead the attack or be deployed wide on the left, with Danny Welback also named in Arsene Wenger’s line-up.

For West Brom, our expectations are far more modest.

Gareth McAuley has served us well over the season and, with six goals from set-piece scenarios, he will be an obvious threat to Arsenal today. Aside from that, there is limited interest in the Baggies’ camp, although Chris Brunt’s remaining owners will be willing him to deliver on his return to the starting XI having been denied returns in recent weeks.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

That Arsenal team has Zero confidence and the players look completely disillusioned

Agree. I've never seen them look so poor and demoralised.

I do believe a few of them need to pull up their big boy pants.

Still don't understand how the BAPS battle was so close between Sanchez and Dawson, but hey? I'm not complaining 🙂

It's bizarre that a defender on the winning team who scores 2 goals, hasn't run away with the bonus points.

I've always thought this, surely it's much harder to achieve!?

Just thinking they have a bias or something towards the small teams, normally if it was Alonso or some Arsenal defender, their BAPS would've been some 50-60 odd points 🙂

If that was a shot by Chadli he'd be given the assist... so now we're in the business of deciphering whether it's a pass on target or a shot. The only difference is intent and, although in this case it's clearly a pass, this leads to grey areas... the system isn't well defined. In my opinion a pass on target where the goalkeeper has to intervene should be classed as a shot to avoid any ambiguity...

p.s. I just want Chadli to take Sanchez's baps

Funny how shooting the ball results in an assist instead of "passing"(the action that is supposed to assist)

Wasn't there a similar issue with Deulofeu last season where he should've been awarded an assist for a shot but FPL decided his intention was to pass and not shoot?

Think Chadli's is so stone wall a pass that they can't really justify giving him the assist for that going on their own precedent.

imo that should be an assist regardless of what the system says as his shot/assist or whatever it was rebounded directly into the path of the scorer

Hazard is out and I smell something fishy because Chelsea kept it low key before the game

I have been more patient than the Arsenal fans with funes mori. Time to throw him out?

What if you remove him and 34 year old Jagielka gets injured and Funes Mori starts again? 🙂 Apart from that, yes, you should kick him out.

Possibly a good way for those types of players to be recognised as they don't really get recognised much at the moment.

I know there's moaning ...about the baps system but.

There was FAR more moaning and bitching before the system changed a few years ago. Far more.
