After Spurs breezed past Newcastle at St James’ Park, Manchester United entertain West Ham United in the final match of Gameweek 1.

The Red Devils’ summer signing Romelu Lukaku is heavily backed for this one, having scored in nine of his last 10 appearances against the Hammers in all competitions for Everton.

The most captained player (28%) in the Gameweek, he was also number one contender in our Captain Poll, earning 38% of the votes.

While Harry Kane proved a bitter disappointment with a one-point return against the Magpies, Lukaku’s response will be eagerly anticipated after a host of premium strikers hit the net over the last two days.

With the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Sergio Aguero, Alvaro Morata, Roberto Firmino and Jamie Vardy all impressing, there’s no shortage of in-form big-hitters for out three-man frontlines right now.

Three goals and as many assists over pre-season suggests that Henrikh Mkhitaryan could stake a claim for midfield consideration, though the Armenian has been mainly overlooked – he’s owned by 7% to team-mate Paul Pogba’s 21%.

For the Hammers, a big display from former United man Javier Hernandez could have an impact on the overall standings –sitting in 21% of squads, he’s the fourth most popular forward in the game.

      The psychology behind the mentality of Fantasy Football players is very interesting.

      After ONE game week people are already thinking about getting rid of:

      De Bruyne - HIGHEST assists last season
      Kane - TOP GOALSCORER last season
      Zaha - reliable points scorer and not better value around for same price
      Jesus - Could have got a hat-trick against Brighton and was far more active and involved than Aguero (showed signs of being class last season too)

      And people are bringing in XHAKA? Red card magnet, only got a handful of assists last season and I'd be amazed if he got 2 assists in a single game again in the Premier League.
      And Hegazi. He's not nailed on but because he scores a goal people jump on this bandwagon.
      Salah - extremely poor first half and wasn't anything special second half at all. Got the points though, but he's still a bit of an unknown.
      Willian - when Hazard is back he's far from a certainty to start...

      Every week seems to be knee-jerk reaction week.

                I got Hegazi for GW1 due to opposition and the fact he's a giant so thought he'd potentially score. Got lucky he came off my bench for Iwobi. But I would be cautious of drafting him in - using a sub to bring in a £4.5m defender after GW1 is odd - how can you have planned your team so poorly to require doing that?

                I suppose with me I'm looking to WC early as I've planned to accrue as much points as possible from early GW's then shape my team to fit what the clubs are actually doing in regards to who they will play etc...

            Xhaka had 5 chances created, which is pretty decent, I figure he isn't as much of a red card magnet anymore as they had time to talk to him about that, took 8 corners for Arsenal and can score the odd goal - AN - is going to get a price rise (probably .2m)

                This was opening game of the season. There's no way Xhaka is going to be that heavily involved all the time. That's not the kind of player he is. Arsenal have a few injuries and not at full strength, plus, that game was mental.

                Who can use a 4-3 (with two goals coming in last 10 minutes) as a barometer for that player and the team? It's a massive, massive knee-jerk reaction - maybe it'll pay off but there's far more evidence and statistics that point towards it not being a good move.

                In a few weeks he'll be transferred out of a lot of teams. (If not next GW).

                  I already have Hegazi myself - the main point about him is that it was the opening week, he's a new player and not guaranteed starter. It is a bit of a risk this early on. If he didn't score then people wouldn't be bringing him in, no?

                  He'll probably get 4-5 assists all season and maybe a goal or two. That's it. Wouldn't be surprised if he got more red cards than goals throughout the season.

                If you buy Hegazi, Monies, Bavies etc, u don't get there pts aren't added automatically to your score!!!

                I remember when I got A. Young after 8:2 or Januzaj. Plenty of cases like that.

                Kane, KDB, Jesus etc can get a brace easily!!! Next GW. Just saying.

                    He has popped his cork already and reached his rise price for the day a while ago, all the purchases from now on means nothing as he will be taken back to zero at 2am or what ever time they do the rise, to start all over again. May see a double digit rise or more
