The Gameweek 2 Team News

Michail Antonio is available for West Ham’s trip to Southampton. Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is expected to be fit for the home clash against Crystal Palace but West Bromwich Albion’s Jonny Evans is a major doubt for an away day at Burnley.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home encounter with Manchester United, though forward Fernando Llorente remains out as he continues to build up his fitness levels after breaking his arm.

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe revealed that Jermain Defoe is in contention to start against Watford, after the forward came off the bench in the 1-0 defeat to West Bromwich Albion. A late decision will be made on Simon Francis (hamstring).

Daryl Janmaat, Younes Kaboul and Roberto Pereyra will all miss the trip to Bournemouth after suffering low-grade muscle injuries in the 3-3 draw with Liverpool. Troy Deeney has returned to full training following a groin injury though, while Christian Kabasele (hamstring) and Brice Dja Djédjé (fractured finger) resumed training in the middle of the week and may be available.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

Jonny Evans (hamstring) looks set to miss West Brom’s trip to Turf Moor, while Gareth McAuley (thigh) and James Morrison (knee) remain sidelined.

Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton will be without Izzy Brown for the trip to Leicester City, after the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that Daniel Sturridge is expected to be fit for the visit of Crystal Palace to Anfield, but Philippe Coutinho and Nathaniel Clyne both remain out due to back injuries.

Mauricio Pellegrino has a fully fit squad to choose from for Southampton’s home clash against West Ham United, with Ryan Bertrand recovering from a minor knock picked up during the goalless draw with Swansea City.

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic will have Michail Antonio available for the trip to Southampton following a hamstring problem, but Manuel Lanzini (knee) will return to training on Monday.

Mark Hughes has confirmed that new signings Bruno Martins Indi, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Jese Rodriguez will all feature in the matchday squad at home to Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger welcomes back Per Mertesacker for the trip to Stoke following a facial injury, while the Arsenal boss also revealed that Shkodran Mustafi and Francis Coquelin will be in the squad. Tomorrow’s match is expected to come too soon for Alexis Sanchez (abdominal injury), though.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman revealed club-record signing Gylfi Sigurdsson will undergo tests over the weekend to assess whether he is ready to feature in Monday night’s trip to Manchester City. Sandro Ramirez (heel injury) is a slight doubt after missing last night’s 2-0 win over Hadjuk Split.

Is Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting the only FPL player whose name is too long to be an FPL team name?

    Afternoon all

I'm trying to save my FT but am getting a bit itchy on Milner. RMT suggests I bench him and play Benteke. In fact RMT suggests benching Milner over 4 weeks out of next 6. To me this is not how I'd like to £6.5 of my budget. Any suggestions? Thanks all.

    Daniels Kolasinac Kompany Bertrand (Milner)

    Willian Salah KDB (Chalobah, Milivojevic)

That's what I'm thinking. Bench Benteke as I don't see him doing much against Liverpool. Then have 2 FT's for GW3 and reassess then.

Theory is sound, it's just the rest of it that worries me 🙂

Liverpool's defence is comical; Benteke could make a big impact if Palace get enough balls high into the box.

After last week I'd agree with that but they'll miss Zaha. May fiddle with defence and fit him in. Time yet.

Thoughts on giving Kane the arm band again this week? Punished by basically the rest of my mini league who captained Lukaku last week. He could be a differential against a weakened Chelsea side?

When I was younger I used to love football so much, I was obsessed with it. Anyway I started playing for a team, a terrible team. Because I was the only one who could slide tackle without horrific results I got automatically put as right back no matter my other attributes. Really sucked, coach was a joke no matter where the ball was on the pitch I was never allowed out of position. Just used to stand there watching our terrible striker try and score goals. So lame, did that for a few years then completely lost interest in football and never played again. I like it again now though mainly due to fantasy and gambling wish I kept playing it though and wish I had been put in midfield
