Dugout Discussion – Huddersfield vs Newcastle

Promoted pair Huddersfield Town and Newcastle United go head-to-head at the John Smith’s Stadium in Sunday’s early kick-off.

As both sides are braced for some favourable upcoming fixtures, today’s encounter offering us a chance to assess their main Fantasy targets as a potential source of value.

Certainly, the hosts are in fine form after last weekend’s 3-0 demolition of Crystal Palace.

Over 160,000 FPL managers acquired Steve Mounie after his brace at Selhurst Park, making him the seventh most popular transfer ahead of Gameweek 2.

The summer signing is the most captained player from this fixture – 12,000+ have handed him the armband against Newcastle’s injury-hit defence.

With Southampton, West Ham, Leicester, Burnley and Swansea in the next six, the likes of Aaron Mooy and Tom Ince could also play their way into our thinking in midfield.

For the Magpies, Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle look the likeliest source of returns for today and a promising next four fixtures (WHU swa STK bha).

Certainly, their displays on the road last term offers encouragement.

The Magpies won a club-record 46 away points last season – the joint-best record in all four divisions. Rafa Benitez’ men also chalked up a club-record 14 away victories in 2016/17, more than any side in all four divisions.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Needed Lindelof out before Ritchie so had to bring Jones in. The good news is I've got £1.4m banked from also doing Sterling > Ramsey (which will definitely hurt me come Monday night I can feel it)

So, Ritchie > £7.4m, maybe Redmond or someone? Tadic? Or just hold? If Jesus flops again and Hernandez has another good showing I could find myself with good cash for a big mid upgrade so may hold!

I'm thinking it'd be wiser to wildcard with that many changes 🙂

Pre game WC team (even though I'm not WCing)

    Fabianski Elliott
    Kola Bertrand Alonso Trippier Jones
    Eriksen Mhki D.Silva Ramsey Jese
    Kane Chica Quanar

Don't know who to bench besides Quaner haha. Ok this team may not be to your personal taste, but I can see the appeal of WCing now if you're unhappy with your team. Quite easy to build something to be very pleased with.
