Sky Sports Focus

Normal service is resumed with our weekly Sky Sports Focus article on hand to prepare you for the incoming Gameweek.

As always, we’ll examine the recent run of Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, the bonus point beneficiaries, transfer trends and Watchlist, before moving on to the Scout team and our future plans.

Gameweek 21 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters and earned an extra five points as a result.

We need to talk about Kevin once again. Mr De Bruyne recovered from injury to put in another Man of the Match performance and take his tally to eight for 2017/18. Eleven awards has commonly been the most earned by a single player over the last five seasons but the Belgian is well on course to top that.

Compatriot Eden Hazard (six) and the game’s second most popular player, Mohamed Salah (seven), moved into third and second place respectively in the MoTM table, while the only other player with significant ownership to feature was Christian Eriksen (19.1%).

He has returned to form of late, only failing to score over five points in one of his last eight matches.

Gameweek 21 Bonus Points

Let’s take a look at those players who have earned 34 points or more in bonus this term.

Watchlist

Here I aim to highlight a few differential players with low ownership who I think could be good options for the coming six weeks.

Three specific price brackets will be used to cater for our available budgets.

The players will evolve with fixtures and form, and offer Fantasy managers a nudge in the right direction.

Notes

Up to 153rd, but at the expense of a couple of transfers.

My beloved Philippe Coutinho left my team, so I was kind of forced into that one. Thankfully, another one of my favourite players, David Silva, returned at the perfect time for a direct swap. With Man City dominating both the league and the bonus point system, it felt like the logical move.

The other trade was something of a vanity transfer, although an injury to Mohamed Salah also helped nudge me to make it.

In came Christian Eriksen (and his 18 points over the two matches) due to him having four fixtures to the Egyptian’s one – and the one is Man City at home.

I’ll be watching that match “Salah-less” for the first time this season. Wish me luck people.

Captain Plan

Sat 13th – Kane (EVE)
Sun 14th – De Bruyne (liv)
Mon 15th – Phil Jones (STK)

Risky, but imagine another 2 points for Kane. Everton have had a couple of 0-0 already.

i'm leaning towards this as i'm an owner of alli and son and giving kane the armband i think would be too much in this game

I would not do that. I think Lingards nice run of points will end. Spurs will destroy Everton.

I'm Salah less too in Sky this weekend. Nervous times. Need to work a way to get him back the following week, but tricky to find room. May ditch Hazard, although his MoM skills are the stuff of Sky legend.

Different in Sky, No subs or price market so if a big player is out you can do really well by getting another in short term and captaining them. Aguero for me.

But yep in FPL with its price rises and spending points on transfers keeping looked to be the best option.
