Jonty Joins As Community Manager

Fantasy Football Scout is delighted to announce that Jonty has joined the team as Community Manager from this week. Jonty has been a fantastic contributor to the site for several seasons but now joins the ranks, along with Paul, on a more permanent basis as Fantasy Football Scout continues to grow.

Jonty will be dedicated to working with the community over the season. His first task will be to recruit a team of moderators to work with us on HomeCrowd, the new comments system, to ensure that this new system helps to improve community interaction over the summer and for the season ahead.

He will also be responsible for such matters as Fantasy Football Scout cup tournaments, the Fantasy Football Scout Leagues, the weekly newsletter for members and for a series of articles that will draw on the very best community contributions and activity as the weeks roll by. It’s also pretty certain that he’ll continue to contribute to the ScoutCast, of course, bringing further community insight to the regular nonsense provided by Granville and myself.

I trust you’ll join me in welcoming Jonty as Fantasy Football Scout’s new Community Manager.

  Difficult to say. I hear that he was given a lot of money to spend, in that sense he did okay, left the club with a pretty poor squad though. Nevertheless, to keep a team in the premier league that long is definitely impressive. I'd look at QPR with all their money and they still didnt stay up. Pulis definitely did something right.

    Michu will be AMC next season imo and classed as a 9.0 forward. I'm staying away. Laudrup seems keen to get a striker who can score them goals so they don't have to rely on Michu. Bent seems perfect to me.

      But Michu is a bit of a fox in the box a la Bent. Even if you drop him a bit deeper you need a striker who can then hold up play and bring Michu into play (Lukaku would be great).

        Exactly. Especially considering Swans' style of play, they need someone who can assist and provide fluidity in counter-attacks. Don't think Michu / Bent provide that.
        
        Thats the reason De Guzman / Routledge played CAM in a few games.

    bent and michu are quite different. bent plays off the shoulders of defenders looking to be put through whereas michu likes to come from deep

  He has starter getting injuries now, when previously he was bomb proof. I think they have effected him and we won't see any more 20 goal seasons. He is also very one dimensional and rarely looks to set people up, which often sends chances begging.

Having spent 2 posts discussing Darren Bent, striker options are even more problematic

RvP, Aguero, Sturridge, Lukaku, Benteke, Lambert, Carroll, Bent, RvW, Berba, and that's before you factor in who Chelsea, Spurs and maybe even Arsenal, sign.

Can we just sack all the other positions and just pick a load of strikers Ossie Ardiles style?

  Balance it with form, fixtures and injuries and it will be alright.
  
  Tbh I could see me starting with Cavani, whoever Chelsea go for and RVP/Sturridge depending on fixtures.

  He'll have the same coaches and Fergie will still be involved. Whoever he signs it will ADD to the quality already there. And judging by previous quotes at least one BIG name player will join. Bale, Ronaldo, Lewandowski and Falcao have all been rumoured.
