The ScoutCast – Episode 157 – Hipsters

Three middle-aged beards collide to talk Fantasy Football. Hipsters? Sadly, as Jonty so rightly points out, we bear a closer resemblance to a trio of David Brents.

A clean-shaven Ryan joins us to complete the quartet and boost the credibility: the Kiwi contributor wakes fresh and ready for action to mull over the Gameweek gone, the week’s transfer bandwagons and to look forward to the weekend’s action.

Around those regulars, we brace ourselves for the latest bout of quizzing from you, the community. We tackle the potential of the Palace form guys and the unlikely contribution from Hull and Leicester, as we cast an early eye on the looming double Gameweek.

The ScoutCast was beamed out live on Wednesday via a Google Hangout and you can view the full video recording on the player below.

Alternatively, for the polished, low-fat audio version can be found via this link or the first player.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and Google Plus page to keep informed of when future ScoutCast hit the screen.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Bolasie based on stats and form, Punch based on proven FPL pedigree.

So having missed the deadline last week, I have 2 FTs. Any ideas for punts before I use my WC next week?

    Myhill(Forster)
    Terry Rose Wollscheid (Bellerin, PVA)
    Silva Mata Mane Eriksen
    Aguero Kane Rooney

Thinking maybe Forster—>Howard, but can’t really think of another one…

      How does this sound?

      Forster + Eriksen + Kane ----> K.DAvis + Nasri + Lukaku

I think I've lost it, but as mentioned in the Scoutcast, Spurs seem to be on holiday and have had an incredibly poor attack recently.

Hazard'll come in next week with my WC. Been making my transfers last minute recently, no time to think = no Hazard 😆

actually, i'm just going to say it. Eriksen & Mane > Bolasie Puncheon.

Yea all set I think, done 1 of my 2 FTs...can't wait to WC next. Haven't decided on my 2nd transfer - maybe you can help 😀

          A) Naughton > Baines/Coleman, play 4-3-3
          B) Sanchez > Silva, okay 3-4-3

DEF + MIDs at the moment are

          Myhill
          Clyne Ivano Dawson
          Eriksen Hazard Mane

    Repost, bottom of last page.

    Panti
    Ivan-Bert-Alderweireld
    Haz-Silva-Mane-Boyd
    Kun(C)-Kane-Gomis
    Bench: Hamer, Alexis, Lescott, Wasi
    1 FT, 0.4 itb.

With this team it's got to be worth doing Gomis, Panti->Murray, Howard for -4, right? I'm wildcarding next week.

I would be grateful for some guidance on transfers:

Team for this week (with 1 FT and £3.7m):

    Heaton
    Terry - Jagielka - Clyne - ? (Haidara)
    Eriksen - Hazard - Boyd
    Kane - Aguero - ? (Austin)

Bench: PVA - Sanchez - Henderson

I'm 35 points ahead of my mini-league rival. His team (if he doesnt take a hit) will be:

    ?
    Rose - Alderw - Clyne - Baird
    Silva - Fab - Haz - JWP
    Kane - Aguero

Bench: Ospina - Giroud - Sanchez - PVA

Next week I will do Eriksen to Fabregas.

If it wasn't for the ML situation, I would probably do:

Now: Haidara to Schlupp and Austen to Vardy for -4
    GW34: Eriksen to Fabregas
    GW35: Vardy to Giroud

However, I'm worried about Silva - should I go with my original plan, or perhaps trade Sanchez for Silva?

Able to field 11 currently (double wba defense and mane) with 1 FT and WC next week.
    Who should I take out?

    A) Naughton
    B) Dawson (Have Myhill)
    C) Mane (Stick with the Double WBA defense and bank on the chance Koeman will play him?)

    Suggestions would be lovely!

You haven't got Silva? Tough one then, don't fancy a WBA clean sheet this week and Silva could easily get goals/assists this week. Not sure myself, toss a coin.

I doubt I'll want double WBA defense and Mane's issue is causing me some headache. Dont want to take a hit before I WC (Doesn't make sense) Yeah I do have Aguero but I do fear the threat of Silva..

I won't be able to get Silva and Coleman / Baines at the same time. I just hope Aguero goes bonkers without help from silva :p and that Mane does smth when he starts.

Rather not take hits at this stage when I plan on WC the next week. Don't want to lose free points to those around me! Cheers man for your help!

In that case B sounds fine. I wouldn't be surprised if West Brom get a clean sheet this week so double WBA def may not be as bad as it first sounds. Pulis will be fuming after conceding so many and he obviously knows the Palace players well and how best to negate their attacking threat

Which of the following options do you think will score highest:

    A) Murray (WBA, HULL)
    B) Rooney (che) AND Yaya (WHU, AVL)?

This is for an alternative fantasy game where you can swap players during a gameweek. Currently have Rooney and will either swap him for Murray before kick-offs tomorrow or wait till after he's played Chelsea and get Yaya instead

    Silva's last three Ethiad returns:

    9, 11, 17 = Silva (C)?

Good shout. If you're chasing - its a good option. But with so many going with Kun.. you should take your time with that decision.

Yeah, I know. Kind of risky and the up-side might be hampered with Kun/Silva returns likely to be correlated, and all the Kun captainers.

Then again Kun's last Ethiad returns:

        2, 2, 9.

Also 2 meaningless goals against United in last 6 and 5(4) in 12 since returning from injury.

i believe he's on Pens - that's what's swinging it for me at the mo. Kun (c) over Silva... but then again stats are bonkers for Silva... arghh difficult one. All the best with whoever you choose mate.

    No goalkeeper this week.

    Currently on Guzan and Foster.

    Schmiecal or Davis?

Have a one week dilemma I'd like advice on.

    I have the option to:

    A) play Remy and Foster> Hart/Howard for free

    B) Remy > Murray for free and play with no GK this week.

    C) Remy > Murray and Foster> Hart/Howard - 4 hit

    D) Remy > Kun (maybe captain him) and Foster> Myhil -4 hit

    Wildcarding next week to clean-up

      I'm in a similar situation.

I think its not worth the hit if playing WC next week.

    9 Playing Player this GW.

    Guzan & Naughton.

    1FT 2.7ITB

It worth changing both for -4 or play with 10 & no hit?

Really? I'm playing a draft league, hence still holding firm, but I really need a player who'll play both in the double...

1ft left, wc next week so a 1 week punt.

    Phillips -> Bolasie
    or
    Bellerin -> Coleman?

    Clyne a possible non-starter again?
There are rumours that he has been "tapped up".

Also, Mane might be benched. Ronald was angry with him last week for breaking team rules, when he tried to take the Southampton penalty.

Hey guys, wildcard left for GW 34, circa 15k position but key is 20 pts clear in mini league.

    This week:

    Krul
    Wollsheid Bertrand Rose
    Silva Hazard Boyd Eriksen
    Aguero Remy Kane

No subs. 2FT. WC next week. What do you recommend? need to use both FT...

A - Remy > Murray (depending on news conference – rival has Remy and will not be able to sell)
B - Sanchez > best mid option for the week (Bolasie, Yaya?)
C - Sanchez > Siggy (to cover one of the few differentials rival has)
D - Naughton > Baines and bench Wolly
    E - another transfer?

Would really appreciate any tips or opinions. Will blast the WC next week on 6-8 DGWers

    Thanks in advance

Have exactly the same team apart from Rose (I have Terry). 2 FT and just 3 points ahead in ML. I am thinking of Lukaku, Yaya and Baines depending on Remy news. Almost sure rival got Bolasie, so might have to cover that but have a feeling Yaya may come strong this GW. Probably will be a last minute decision on both transfers.

Thanks Massive, I think my rival might get Bolasie or Yaya so I will probs cover that...last minute moves for me too!! Good luck

    Panti*/Hamer*

    Terry/Toby/CDawson/Bruce*/Baird*

    Alexis*/Silva/Hazard/Chadli/Boyd

    Kun/Kane/Giroud* 0.1 ITB 1FT

Tough times... Thinking Alexis-> Fabregas and potentially a hit to bring in a playing keeper.

    Next week take a 4pt hit for CDawson + Chadli - > Skrtel + Henderson/Sterling

    Any thoughts?
