Fantasy Flutter – Gameweek 38

In our final head-to-head with Paddy, we’ve invested faith in Arsenal’s English speedster, Everton’s robust frontman and Stoke’s man of the moment.

Our first, and favourite, wager of the week has us backing Theo Walcott to net his third goal this campaign. Arsene Wenger looks set to slightly rotate ahead of the Gunners’ FA Cup final, which should afford the fleet-footed winger his first start since Gameweek 29. Considering the North London club has conceded just one goal in their last three home ties, Paddy’s 11/4 odds on Walcott to score and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet against West Brom tempted us to part with our first £4.

It’s been a lucklustre season for Romelu Lukaku, but the imposing Belgian has finally hit some form in recent weeks, notching two goals in three starts. No striker came close to mustering as many attempts on goal (nine) as Lukaku last Gameweek, which – coupled with the fact that Tottenham drew blanks in two of their previous three match-ups – encouraged us to take up Paddy’s 33/1 offer on Lukaku to score two or more goals and Everton to keep a clean sheet.

Charlie Adam – the target of our final bet this Sunday – has been a revelation of late, tallying four goals in seven starts. The Scottish midfielder ranks third over the last six Gameweeks in terms of attempted shots (35), behind Philippe Coutinho (30) and Alexis Sanchez (29). Considering Liverpool chalked up a solitary goal in their last three road matches, we’re liking Paddy’s 18/1 offer on Adam to score and Stoke to keep a clean sheet and handing over our remaining £3.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Not getting together with any other managers as I live in Arizona, and the people that I did start a league with fell far behind me and gave up. I am going to a Spurs fans house though and we're gonna stream 4 matches at once as I try to overcome a 4 point deficit.

I'm in St Petersburg, in the "Liverpool" bar but they can only show the Chelsea match (which I have no players in), probably a good thing. Not as exciting as last year when I was in an Oxford pub with Huttondressedaslahm.

Also less fun with no money league this year, it was disbanded because l'm "too good" apparently, cowards! Having a shot of vodka for each goal scored by my team, on 3 so far! It's 6pm here though and there's a band on later so it's not too early to be a little tipsy...

Could you guys give me your views on R.Taylor as a prospect this gw? They got everything to play for, he plays in midfielder and is on set-pieces. But will he play? Williamson is back pushing Dummet out wide, so left back is no longer an option. And he was subbed on the 63rd minute last gw...!

Think he'll play midfield but could be subbed if they need a goal. He is a threat from direct free kicks, but Newcastle are poor at set pieces in general.

I think he'll start alongside Colback behind Sissoko. If they're chasing then he'll be subbed for a forward and Sissoko will drop back.

That's what I was thinking. No pressure on United, Hull will have to come and have a go whbich will leave them wide open for a smashing.

Here is a quick roundup of some of the biggest stories making today's back pages...

    - Manchester United have stepped up their efforts in the summer transfer market, pursuing Nicolas Otamendi, the Valencia centre-half, for whom the Spanish club are asking £36m (Mail)

    - Chelsea are set to move for Stoke keeper Asmir Begovic (Mirror)

    - Manchester United have been offered Costa Rican international keeper Keylor Navas as a sweetener in a bid to take David de Gea to Real Madrid (Express)

    - Sunderland want to sign Robert Green and save him from relegation misery at QPR (Sun)

    - Liverpool are plotting a recruitment drive, spearheaded by the £30m capture of Christian Benteke. James Milner, Danny Ings and Fiorentina goalkeeper Neto are their other primary targets (Times)

    - Arsenal have put Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, 28, high on their summer wanted list (Star)
