FanDuel

Introducing the FanDuel Social League

This month we have teamed up with FanDuel to launch a free to enter league, spanning the next four Gameweeks.

This marks a departure from FanDuel’s usual weekly and daily game setup to offer a distinct league format over a number of Gameweeks.

There will be a range of prizes for the highest scores each Gameweek as well as for the best overall scorers.

In total, there are £200 in Amazon vouchers and £250 in FanDuel credit up for grabs in what looks to be compelling mid-season add-on, particularly for those currently treading water with their Fantasy Premier League line-ups.

Existing FanDuel customers, as well as those new to the game, are free to take part, although it is worth noting that this is only available to UK-based customers.

In addition, for new customers that register for the league, FanDuel are giving away a free £5 credit, which can be accessed by using the promocode SCOUTFIVER when signing up via this link.

If you’re building a FanDuel lineup for the first time we recommend taking a look at our strategy guide that examines which players to target in the various positions.

Getting Started

Click here and pick you FanDuel lineup for Gameweek 22’s matches.

Once you’re lineup is complete, you will either need to register an account or log in.

If you’re registering for the first time, Don’t forget to use the promocode “SCOUTFIVER” to claim your free credit.

Once your lineup is entered you can log back in and edit it, right up until the kick-off in the first match, using this link.

Managing Your Lineup

Each week in our FanDuel Focus article we will be providing a link to the current table of scores before publishing the new link required to select your next Gameweek lineup.

We will also be using our Twitter and Facebook pages to share these links.

Schedule and prizes

The competition takes place over Gameweek 22 – Gameweek 25, with the deadline for entries set at 12:30pm Saturday January 21.

Each Gameweek, the top scoring manager will receive a £25 Amazon voucher and each of the top five highest scorers will get a £10 FanDuel credit.

The overall league score will be measured by combining your top three Gameweek scores over the four set of fixtures.

The overall prizes are:

First place – £50 Amazon voucher, £50 FanDuel credit

Second place – £30 Amazon voucher, £30 FanDuel credit

Third place – £20 Amazon voucher, £20 FanDuel credit

Fourth place – £10 FanDuel credit

Fifth – tenth place – £5 FanDuel credit

1 free transfer, 0.5 in the bank - I'm settled enough here to stick with this until Giroud's fitness is cleared up, right?

    Heaton - Jakupovic

    Rose - Alonso - Jones - Nyom - Chambers

    Eriksen - Sanchez - Lallana - Phillips - Fletcher

    Ibra - Giroud - Negredo

I think I will sell Eriksen immidietely when Lamela is back.

He hinders Eriksen, he takes set pieces away from him and I think Alli is much better choice in that case.

Yeah, agree with your original point. Lamela and Eriksen leech on each other's points. But hopefully won't happen for a while. I think he's even got to get past Son as first sub.

That won't happen for the forseeable imo. Walker and Rose in advanced roles gives them way more going forward that they ever did as full-backs in a back four. He could return if their form dips, but he'll be a sub until things turn drastically / injuries occur.

Walcott makes a bench appearance vs Watford at best. He's already been categorically ruled out of the Burnley match so chances of him starting the week after are slim to none

Eriksen is the logical player for me to bring in but he has burned me so many times before. I've owned him maybe eight times over the last two and a half years and each time has marked a barren spell that takes place directly before/after a great run of points.....

With that in mind, who would you go for if you had zero interest in a Spurs midfielder?

      Been thinking the same mate!

Who's the rest of your mid?

Mine is KdB, Sanchez, Alli, Antonio

KdB -> Eriksen is logical, but I kind of fancy either Ozil (if Giroud injured) or Pedro (1 week punt).

Depends what you need the funds for. I'd be holding Carroll right now. If the stock is going to move in the next few weeks, it's only going to go up. He thrives on stuff like that goal Saturday. Could be the start of a purple patch.

When you're at the top, chances are you will have already had the best players at the right times. Common sense really.

Doesn't mean hits are bad. The majority of us won't have the luxury/luck of having the top scoring players at the right time.

I am not buying that argument. They all started with very different teams. They just didnt kneejerk and take hits and jump on bandwagons and come last to parties and all. Patience is a virtue i guess. They dont even have the same teams today, far from, but they all stuck to their horses and captained smart i guess.

They're not all playing optimally, far from it. There's many routes to success... you shouldn't expect them to have identical teams

Exactly, and that says something. When majority of top teams come with different teams and all they have in common is they don't take hits. Never. Think about it.

But they're not at the top 'because' they didn't take hits. They are at the top because the players they have had have been getting lots of points.

Someone who had a poor player, but then took a hit to get a better player and got lots of points, wouldn't be at the top because they had the low scoring player. But their hit worked and will have got them a rank rise, just not enough for the top spot because the guys at the top already had that player without needing the hit for it.

Aguero - > Kane or ride it out for one more week?

Tough one this, but if you ride it out, chances are you won't make the move next week also given Kun's fixtures. Comes down to whom you want in the team.

    Please pick one

    A) Baines, Brunt, Monreal (Alonso GW 25)
    B) Baines, Brunt, Rose
    C) Rose, Brunt, Monreal
    D) Brunt Rose Alonso

Tough decision. Baines on pens swings it but not sure.

Alonso Brunt and one of Rose/Baines. I can't decide on it either

I play Alonso, Brunt and Rose each week. I essentially have no defenders and 8 midfielders. I plan on bringing in Baines which will put me in the same position as you. :p

Don't own any Spurs though, worth bringing in or have i missed the train?

I've never really understood this whole missing the train thing. Why would their players all of a sudden stop being good picks out of the blue?

But yeah, that move looks decent.

Alli surely wont keep tempo for instance... rather pick for example Coutinho if he picks form than Alli in decline?

Hi, long post ahead. I think I'm the guy that ruined Costa for everyone, sorry guys!

Bought him really late at 10.9 and since then it has been downhill.. he's 10.4 now 🙁

Should I wait a bit and try to regain some of the value lost or just ditch already for someone else?

You'll lose value by keeping him. He is falling.

That's the problem. Still that possibility he'll be back this weekend. I'm waiting it out.

Bit different in my case since I bought at 9.5, further drops this week won't affect me as he's already dropped once.

Every drop affects that lad ^.

    WC selection, any thoughts?

    Courtois (Jaku)

    Jones Wimmer Coleman (Yoshida Wilson)

    Sanchez Phillips Lallana Sterling (Hojbjerg)

    Kane Ibra Lukaku

    Thanks guys!

Alonso/Rose would be priority picks for me on WC. Wimmer far from nailed. Davies could come in, if they keep their back 3/5. Aldy and Dier the duo if they switch to 4.

Prefer quite a few over Sterling but your choice.

      Quality front 3 🙂

I think I'd do Lallana + Sterling to Eriksen/Alli + Stanislas. Remainder of the funds to upgrade Coleman to Rose, and Wimmer to Brunt if possible.

Yeah you'd have a light midfield on paper, but Stanislas and Phillips are 2 inform value picks with fixtures. Enables a solid defence and brilliant front 3. Lots of points there imo.
