The ScoutCast – Episode 211 – Beleaguered

It’s quite ironic that, in an episode that focuses on our experience and strategies of mini-league management, my long-term rival on that score goes awol.

Granville is waylaid by “homework” and misses out, but Luke crashes in mid-cast to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we deliver an 80-minute episode, which includes our dubious insights on navigating a team to mini-league glory – mind games and all.

Once again guided by your community questions, we take on the Diego Costa fall-out, the rising stock of Spurs on form and Everton on fixtures, while finding time to wade in on the demise of former darling Sergio Aguero under the stewardship of Pep Guardiola.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

I'd go for Brunt of those two, and I think will have him in by next week at the latest

OTOH I have a slight reservatiot about having Foster + Brunt when WBA seem less capabel of keeping cleanies this season

    Morning!

Clyne owners – any feeling for whether he’s gonna be fir this weekend?

I was planning transfer him next week anyway, I’m just curious whether I should bite the bullet this week and get in Brunt or Baines ?

“He is, how everyone can imagine – he made nearly all the games since I’m in and before, probably, [he’s] one of the hardest we have so the first second when it’s possible he’s out there. He has a big chance, I think, for Swansea.”

Sorry to keep posting about the dgws but this is the first time I've gone into the business end of the season in good shape (24k).

So am I right in thinking that there will be numerous blanks in gw28 and these teams will play their dgws in gw34?

Then there will fa cup semis in gw34 and the teams that play in those will reschedule for gw37?

And when are the two gw26 games that are cancelled due to league cup final likely to be rescheduled?

    1. Darklord_bg
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 3 months ago

It's unlikely that GW34 games will be postponed, since the following midweek is free.

The rest is correct - ManU-ManC will be almost certainly postponed in GW26 and one of Southampton-Arsenal and Leicester-Liverpool will be postponed.

For GW28 the only certain games so far are Everton-West Brom and Bournemouth-West Ham.

    Morning lads,

    2 FT - 1.1 ITB
    Heaton
    Walker Alonso Cedric
    Haz Sanchez Lalana Phillips
    Ibra Origi Defoe

    bench: Jaku Allen Pieters Amat

G2G and wait till next week for one of the following?

    A. Allen+Cedric > Stanislas + McAuley/Jones/Brunt

Potentially an hour but with all Liverpool's fixtures not more. Also a risk he could start on the bench and be the one getting the 30/20 minutes. Double up is fine IMO.

Help me solve my Origi-ache! Thoughts very much appreciated.

Swaying towards B, but have Phillips and worried about the possibility of an incoming Ighalo (but perhaps that may spur Salomon on)...also, losing Aguero for (-4) just seems wrong with that 5-0 v WHU fresh in my mind!! Have Sanchez so Giroud doesn't seem too essential. Have Alli and Eriksen, triple with Kane seems OTT. Heeeellllpppppp!!

    ORIGI HAS TO GO!

I'm doing fine but having some bad luck with injuries week to week. I will probably start planning for the blanks now and bring in F Mori/Brunt.

That's basically my issue. Very glad Gru is seemingly okay, didn't fancy yet another -4.

I basically am getting Brunt to cover McAuley. Everyone else has him in my ML, and some ppl also have foster, so I need to be in on that, otherwise wba cleanies - despite being rarer this year - will really cane me lol

I'm also still lumbered with KdB... He's gna go out for Eriksen next week, but no point in changing this week lol

            You gna do Brunt then?

Yeah I think Gru will be fine, and he is in huge form, I'm envious ;-).

Sounds wise to have at least 1 playing WBA def. However I already have Evans and need to sort Aké out first. Also have Baines so looking at either double Everton or double WBA def. Boro def is an alternative, although they might blank in GW28

Yeah gotta hope Jevs is ok! Got a couple of mates in the same boat with him. So many injuries.

Yah I was close to getting Baines in earlier this week but seems a doubt now. Coleman is an alternative, but I do like owning brunt lol so I'm fairly sure that's what I'll do. Though I'm still hoping Nyom is ok so I can roll ft...

If Senegal lose their Quarter Final match on 28th or 29th of January, I reckon Mane could be back for Hull 4th of February (GW24).... If they win their Quarter Final match, Mane is most likely back for Spurs 11th of February (GW25), because then they are sure to play either in the Bronze medal game on Sat 4th of February or in the final Sun 5th of February...

Mane's already dropped to 9.1m from 9.5m, and is rather likely to drop once more before coming back... Not too great fixtures though until GW30, but after that amazing fixtures until the end. They might still be in the League Cup final though, so there'd be a blank from them, right? So if that happens, would be GW26 blank for Liverpool.... Meaning there'd be a double for Liverpool later with that Leicester fixture in it... Nice!

So, in conclusion, Mane might further drop in price even when he comes back from Africa if it's GW25 against Spurs and then GW26 blank, and then GW27 Arsenal... I might just be eyeing him in for GW28 against Burnley... 😉

Livermore is a CM and has no effect on Phillips. To be honest Phillips won't ever be at risk in this form. He's the most integral player in the team right now.

Man United blank in GW26 if they go on to the final of the League Cup, correct? They won the first leg against Hull 2-0, so I can see this one being rather confirmed already... And it's the Manchester derby, so City likely to have blank GW26 as well...
