Double Gameweek 34 Confirmed

Earlier this morning, the Premier League kindly helped to relieve the monotony brought on by another international break by confirming the rescheduling of a number of fixtures that were previously postponed due to FA Cup ties.

The following matches have now been moved into Gameweek 34:

Chelsea v Southampton
Arsenal v Leicester
Crystal Palace v Spurs
Middlesbrough v Sunderland
Manchester City v Manchester United

As a result, we now have three teams set to play twice in Gameweek 34 – Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and Manchester United.

Palace hardly have the most appealing pair of fixtures – Big Sam’s will now travel to Liverpool before hosting Spurs.

Middlesbrough face two vital relegation clashes, with a trip to Bournemouth preceding their home encounter with Sunderland.

Man United, meanwhile, will hit the road twice – making their way to Burnley before rolling up to neighbours City on Thursday April 27 in the final match of Gameweek 34.

As a result of this rescheduling, those holding West Bromwich Albion players should be aware that the Baggies are the only team that will face a blank in Gameweek 34.

The Premier League have also revealed that the remaining postponed fixtures will be confirmed “on or around Friday, April 7”, which is just prior to the weekend of Gameweek 32.

At present, there are six matches yet to be afforded a new date:

Arsenal v Sunderland
Chelsea v Watford
Leicester v Spurs
Man City v West Brom
Southampton v Arsenal
Southampton v Man United

We’ll go into more detail on the knock-on effect of today’s news in future “Scouting the Doubles” fixtures nearer the time but, for now, this is just a heads-up.

Need to shift Anichebe, that midfield is very pricy also. Much better options than Hazard like Alli/Eriksen/Pedro/Siggy all delivering consistent points to free up some cash. I'd be getting rid of Evans too if I had him.

    Gabbiadini (TC) ?

Possibly. Or Tadic. One penalty and you're already looking at a better score than Aguero's 9.

Why isnt anyone talking about BB34?
    1. All the SGW players have got pretty decent fixtures
    2. Lets be honest the DGW players are gonna be crap.
    3. I like my team at the moment and my bench is made up of Brunt & Foster who are blanking and De Roon who will be doubling anyway.
    4. DGW37 you will be able to concentrate on 11 really good DGW players and nt spread the risk too much
    5. Gives you the flexibility of WCíng in 37 itself

Think people don't understand that you are BBing 4 DGW players in GW37. They keep blindly believing they are BBing 15 players, completely oblivious to the fact, that you don't need any chip to play 11 DGW players in GW37. Hence, no consideration to playing BB in any other week.

haha yeah exactly.... i cant see any good foster & brunt replacement as a keeper and 5th defender.... Ibra Valencia Valdez and chambers/friend could be a handy BB with De Roon there as well

It's an option. Chances of matching the BB37 in BB34 are pretty slim, though - so your TC in 37 needs to be exceptional to pull it off.

      1. fedolefan
        • 9 Years

If we are to assume BB is played in a SGW, DGW have an advantage of an extra round of fixtures for their bench in a DGW. It then basically comes down to an extra captaincy vs the entire bench for a single round.

Why do you say that? its 4 DGW players in 34 vs 4 in 37.... Sanchez TC in 37 has sto &SUN.... Ibra has bur MCI in 34

Just by sheer weight of numbers and quality of players. It's not 100% guaranteed but I'd be very surprised if the average bench boost in 34 is better than the average one in 37.

A good TC is worth an extra 15-20 and a good BB should be worth about the same. I think it is easier to hit that number for BB in a dgw.

I would argue that last year's Aguero and Sanchez masterpieces spoiled us a bit for TC chips. Hard to get in form superstars with good fixtures.

Not sure which part you are asking about.

I would be happy if my bench got 5/5/5/5 in a week I used the chip. I always use that as a measure for a good return. In a DGW that is more likely to be achieved, and frankly one could argue that the ceiling is higher with more players getting involved in dgw37 so you can maximize the best fixtures and best bench.

Last year, Alexis and Aguero were absolute alphas at the peak of their games, and both had great fixtures in their DGWs. The best player in FPL right now is Lukaku, and he doesn't have a double.

im asking why do you think that DGW players in 34 wont get the 20 points you are targeting?

            1. tm245
              • 12 Years
              7 years, 10 days ago

Because without the bench boost chips, like in previous years, those DGW players would not have been on my bench, they would have been in my lineup. It seems a technicality but it might be an objective way to measure how well I use the chip.

My fifteen man squad in 37 could very well outscore my fifteen man squad in 34 by 15-20 points considering the fixtures and the players involved. That is why I think the chip might best be used then.

although I would wild card 35 and TC in 37

    In GW34

    Chlesea (SOT)
    Arsenal (SUN)
    Man City (WBA)

I can see me wanting their players for that. GW34 WC is looking nailed for me.

    DDG
    Valencia
    Ibra
    PvA
De Roon (fodder and plays SOT in 37)

The other advantage of WCn in 34 over 36 is that you will likely get the key assets for cheaper

Depends what the team is like now, I quite fancy bringing in Vardy, Costa, Alli and maybe Hazard.

I don't want my next 4/5 FT dictated to me by a DGW, I want to catch the players in form now.

    Ibra TC GW34 anyone?

I know they're not the best of fixtures, but it's Ibra, he can score against anyone.

The only other option is Sanchez 35 or 36, but I question Arsenal's determination at the moment. Also if 36, then I cannot play TC in GW36 and WC to set up for BB 37.

1FT, 5.2 ITB. Still have WC and BB left

    Pickford
    Alonso, Coleman, Mawson
    Sanchez, Mane, Eriksen, King
    Lukaku, Llorente, Carroll

    Heaton, Holebas, Fletcher, Evans

    A. Holebas/Evans to Valencia (bench Coleman)
    B. Carroll/Llorente to Costa/Vardy

Any idea why Holebas didnt play?

Chances he will be back in the lineup for Sunderland (H) ?

What is all this thing about damage control? My H2h rival has Payet. I am unable to get him. Oh! Damage.

I think WC GW35 is the way to go now, given I might fancy a few Boro/Palace players for the DGW34, but definitely not after...

For those who still have their TC chip, have you considered using it in a SGW (asuming that you are using your BB in GW37)?

Ibra and Sanchez don't have the best fixtures in their DGWs but why not consider Kane(if fit) vs Bou in GW33, Hazard vs Sou in GW34 or Kun vs Cpl in GW36. Even in GW38 there are couple of great fixtures for big teams, and those games can go mad with goals.

Yeah, this is a great point! I should have used TC in almost any SG for instance instead of Aguero DGW... 9pts.... How many times this season my captain has scored more than 9pts... And I should have TCed in any of those... DGW has potential, obviously, but it's not that great!

            Aguero 37.

I'm seriously considering pretty much ignoring dgw34. Ibra a no brainer but other than that it's very meh. Palace are blunt and Mid are rubbish plus have awful fixtures so I'd be dead against wc'ing them in. Man u will prob rotate and I don't fancy their defence anyway

Of course not wc'ing them in, get Palace/Boro with FTs, then WC GW35!

How many people have teams in good enough to shape to be using fts for that. One needs to be used on ibra that only leaves 4 and will doubtless have other fires to fight

One does not simply rotate Valencia...

Prob not but I'm apply to avoid man u defence. Would much prefer a fit Rose to Valencia

Injury update estimates from Jack Sullivan (Chairmans son)

            Obiang out for the season
Reid 6 weeks. (Could be longer)
Antonio 3-4 weeks. (Could be sooner)

Aside from Lanzini, that's our best 3 players of the season.

All the people who preach the gw36 WC and gw37 bb combo...

Have you seen how many gun players have doubles in 37? Sanchez, Haz, Costa, Kun, Kane, Ibra, Alli, Eriksen, Sane, Sterling, Alonso etc etc

Why on earth would you want any kind of bench for these games? What a waste of money! Get it invested in big names and the strongest eleven possible.

Also consider that if you are wcing to a strong 15 in gw36, you will be leaving money on the bench in gw36 and 38.

I guess the only worry is rotation in 38

Could easily have Hennessy, Ake, Fernandez and Carroll on bench. Dirt cheap and all should play final game.

Bench Coutinho/ King. In fact get rid of Coutinho along with Kane.
