Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

After the first four fixtures of Gameweek 31 treated us to just seven goals last night, hopes are a little higher for the remaining six matches.

Many Fantasy managers will be keeping a keen eye on the Emirates as Alexis Sanchez looks to punish West Ham once again.

The Chilean is the third most-captained player this time around, having served up 23 points against the Hammers back in Gameweek 14.

Dele Alli – the most popular midfielder in FPL – and Spurs team-mate Christian Eriksen also have the opportunity to deliver a big profit as they travel to a Swansea City outfit that boasts the worst home defensive record in the top-flight.

Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough are also in action this evening, affording us an early scouting opportunity as both gear up for a double Gameweek 34.

Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha roll up to St Mary’s looking to build on their goal and assist apiece away to Chelsea, with Sam Allardyce’s men seeking a fifth straight victory.

‘Boro face a tough task away to Hull, though. The Tigers are a tough nut to crack at home under Marco Silva, with six wins and a draw in seven in front of their own supporters across all competitions. Notably, the Teessiders appear to have opted for a front two for tonight’s clash.

Chelsea and Man City square up at the Bridge in one of two 8pm encounters.

Diego Costa is the second most-captained player for the Gameweek – over 10% are backing the Spain international despite a run of two goals in seven. Meanwhile, for the visitors, Sergio Aguero has persuaded 8% to take an armband punt on the back of three strikes in four.

Liverpool seek to gain revenge on their 4-3 capitulation at the Vitality Stadium earlier in the season as Bournemouth make their way to Anfield. With Sadio Mane sidelined, Philippe Coutinho – the top transfer target for Gameweek 31 – and Roberto Firmino carry the main threat to a defence that’s been breached 31 times already on their travels.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

City attack needed for HUL. Tadic to Sane if you have spare funds, or you could take a hit & do Kone to Holgate to raise some.

    2 April - 90 mins vs Arsenal

8 April - City at home vs Hull - surely a good chance he gets rested.

Happy to have him in my team this weak but I won't be captaining him. Not scaremongering as I have him.

    Wildcard tinkering - currently on:

    Valdes - Pickford
    Alonso - Valencia - Vertonghen - Gibson - Yoshida
    Sanchez - Alli - Eriksen - Coutinho - Albrighton
    Ibra - Lukaku - Origi

A - Worth doing Coutinho to Pedro/Walcott/Sane this week or wait until DGW?
B - Origi vs Gabby when he's back (would need to get rid of Coutinho)
    C - URVEBALL: Coutinho + Alonso > Hazard + 4.6m DEF

Did anyone see how well Sanchez played last night? It was a big captain fail which affected me big time but I had a read of some game reports this morning and it sounded quite positive. Just wondering what to do with him really - he has Palace next and he is expensive for the returns he's been producing lately

Watched the part of first and whole 2nd half.
He should've had 2 assists if not for Bellerin's poor finishing.
Worringly Sanchez didn't have many shots on goal.
He was his usual industrial all over the pitch...except not too close enough to opposition goal.
I captained him too:( still managed 75 points thanks to other assets in my team.
Though my closest opponent had Hazard C and it was enough for him to have same points as me. Annoying captain fail.
I only got Sanchez before WHM game. It would be unwise to sell. See how he delivers in CRP. He has good away record.

    Pick. Mignolet

    Kun. Tekers. Afobe.

    Thoughts on his team?

Will get in trouble defence wise next gameweek with Williams suspended, but many will have McCauley in their side anyway so probably good and Simpson has a little chance og CS, Leicester will probably play utterly defensive to secure one point. Double palace is a bit too much, maybe, at least for next week.
