FFS Cup

FFScout Cups – Results and Third Round Draws

Our two Fantasy Football Scout cup competitions are progressing at lightning pace as we look back on the events of the midweek’s second round and ahead to round three, which kicks off on Saturday.

There were mixed fortunes for some former winners of our open to all cup, with reigning champion A Manager Has No Name among those to go through to the next round. He saw off community regular Krul runnings to set himself up with a clash with What Divock?!, who, with an overall rank of 69,987, is 42,738 places higher.

Among the other champions, Wild Rover and Donnellyc also prevailed, as did Mark, who squares up to tkmlim.

Of this trio, Mark – who is ranked 542 overall – can feel the most confident, given that his opponent is placed 66,102 places behind him.

However, the same cannot be said of 42,422-ranked Wild Rover, who faces the cup’s highest placed manager pitstop1 – he sits in 123rd spot.

There is also a seismic gap in the tie involving 284,826-ranked donnellyc and his opponent Who Divock Is Origi, who is comfortably in the top 10,000 at 6,139.

Sadly, I exit at this early stage, with Not Much Klopp’s score of 70 proving too much for my 50-point tally. Gribude joins me through the door, after being defeated 56-50 by Footopia.

Joining Mark as one of our live Hall of Fame representatives to survive is Dronny Imp, aka David Meechan, who progressed past Legomane 65-59 to take on Jurgen Can Karius, who, at 931,186, is the clear underdog given David’s pedigree and current 4,767 rank.

Another elite manager to make the cut is My Pretty Pony, aka Peter Kouewenberg, who is third in our live Hall of Fame and earns a third round encounter with Prophet.

This is another favourable clash for one of our top veterans, given that Peter’s opponent is ranked 262,527 places below his 1,567 ranking.

Top Marx, whose regular community analysis of the Hall of Fame involves some enlightening conversations with Peter, also makes it through and takes on Citizen Z.

The full third round draw can be found here.

Meanwhile, in our Members cup there will be a new name on the trophy after both former winners were dispatched.

Fuzzy Dunlop was beaten 60—56 by community veteran Parm, while Trigg was sent packing by Fenghh.

Billy Ketsu had a week to forget, after losing his place at the summit of the FFScout Members league and tasting defeat in his cup draw against Doctor 101.

Sleep Talk, who was beaten in round one of the open to all cup by Mark, is having better luck in the Members Cup, where he overcame Ma3jdw. This 38,164-ranked manager will now face 52,905-placed AT in the third round.

Another eye catching tie is community regulars FrankieTheGent and Hybrid.power’s clash.

There is also the chance of a giant killing for 56,534 ranked Rickytoso, who squares up to the Members cup’s highest-ranked manager Pukka, who is placed at 78th in the world.

The full third round draw can be found here.

There is £350 in Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk vouchers up for grabs for the final top three managers in both tournaments.

Good luck to all those involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link.

Aguero owners, is he the default choice for armbandthis week? or should we look upto other options (Alli/Eriksen/Sanchez), as he has burned us many times this season already.

Seriously considering Alli for the armband and if Aguero goes ballistic that will make me happy enough (even without armband). Still relatively low ownership (21% I think).

But Aguero (c) vs HUL is what FPL is made for. Not sure difficult.

Alli has comfortably outscored Aguero during the last few fixtures.

Spurs have been comfortably better at home than City, scoring far more and winning more.

I think Alli is the play, although Aguero is an understandable lure.

I'm defending a 20 point ML lead and think I might try and pinpoint rivals (C) - likely Alli - and just let Kun get what he gets. Always edgy with Pep plans...

I'm giving the armband to Ibra, scored and assisted last time he played Sunderland, and Jose wants more goals, Ibra will be the man to do it.

    A) Alonso-Davies-Valencia (Yoshi-Chambers) / Alli-Eriksen-King-Sancez-WardP

        Alonso-Walker-Valencia (Yoshi-Chambers)
        Siggy-Eriksen-King-Sancez-WardP
        And 0.1ITB

Wanna get Alli since I'm chasing in minileague, and no one has Alli, also Chelsea fixtures doesnt seem good for cs imo the next 4GW's. Dont have WC left

Over the next three GWs is:

Foster, McAuley, Siggy, Carroll & Aguero (after Hull of course) > Valdes, Valencia, Zaha, Benteke & Ibra worth a hit?

Will give me 5 x DGW players and ship a lot of dross.....

But then you would be left with some dross after the double...

He is viable in the short term but Kane looks likely to return soon(ish). Zaha, who may well end up starting 4 games compared to Son's two over the next GWs, might be preferable.

    Heaton
    Walker, Baines, Valencia
Alli (C), Sig, Eriksen, Sanchez (V
    Origi, Lukaku, Carroll

    Robinson, Brunt, Maguire, Carroll.

Good to go? 3.5 ITB. I considered Sig for Sane, but dont fancy the rotation risk. I also pondered Carroll and Sig for Zaha and Ibra for -4 but Carroll looks likely to be fit.

        Cheers for the input guys.
I'm keeping Baines - Burnley at home the following week looks good too and he has attacking potential. I dont see many defenders worth transferring out for.
I've considered the Benteke move, but I think Carroll's fixtures are much better over the next two. I'm also likely to opt for Zaha as palace coverage and their fixtures will stop me there I think.

1.2m itb. Im looking to replace Siggy. Other option is Sane but worried he might get rested.

Personally, I dont think that Siggy to Walcott is worth it this week. Palace away is a tough fixture and I think there are goals in the West Ham game. I'd hold off.

Happy with my current midfield, but maybe I'll double up on my WC in 36. He only tends to produce in home matches and I don't like the fact he always gets subbed off after 60-70 mins.

      Keeping.

Hazard only goes crazy once a month or so, lol.

Remember earlier in the season after the Everton game when most of us ditched Alexis to jump on the Hazard train? You know how that ended...

Keeping. Last night was a crushing disappointment and I was really expecting to overtake my ML rival who has been top of the league since October and at one stage 100 points ahead.

But I think i have the better team, and having Sanchez with a WC in hand over my rival will mean that I don't need to perform major surgery on my team to get him in for the doubles. You know he can and will turn it on eventually. If he wants a move he'll want to put himself in the shop window.

Firmino & Brunt -> Alli & Barragan for -4? Worth it?

    1. seanraggettheader
      • 7 Years
      7 years, 20 days ago

If it's not question of the 0.5m I'd only do Firmino > Alli. The -4 isn't really worth it even though Boro have Burnley at home.

      Who are your other midfielders?

... and I'd want to keep him. To be fair Alli is a bit of a must have especially if you don't have any other Spurs midfield coverage, but I think Firmino will pick up points across Stoke (A), WBA (A) + Palace (H). Brunt has OK fixtures.

Is it possible to get Gibson instead if you downgrade a different Def? I did Siggy to Alli but I had a few mil in the bank.

I'm keeping for two weeks. Burnley at home the following week is a good chance of a clean sheet. and Baines has some attacking threat. I've also got Walker and Valencia and not many others seem appealing atm.

I'd be tempted to move Alonso over the others. Too much tied up in a defender that aren't keeping clean sheets

I'd probably get rid of Brunt out of those with the blank coming up and Southampton and Liverpool in the next 2 games - I assume you have a defender lined up you really want to bring in?

Baines has Leicester at home. Strong home form of Everton vs the all new Leicester

Brunt faces Southampton. Both sides unpredictable

Siggy faces poor form West Ham.

I think no one seems to have much week or much strong points. So save imo
