The ScoutCast – Episode 222 – Intense

There’s no other word for it, this week’s ScoutCast is certainly an “intense” affair, gripped by the troublesome uncertainty served up by the most testing double Gameweek in memory.

Jonty, Andy and Az once again join me as we quickly review our Gameweek 33s, before indulging in the main course – chewing through your queries that dissect the dilemmas served up by the forthcoming fixtures.

The merits of Zlatan, the head-to-head between Negredo and Benteke and a full risk assessment of shedding Sanchez and Sigurdsson – these are all topics to furrow the brow as we indulge in the most passionate of ScoutCasts for some weeks.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Monday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

We had an emergency article when Coleman was injured ... will we get one tonight for Ibra?

Nah. Every chance he will have to be rested at Burnley, surely? Jose will 100% want him vs City and won't risk injury/fatigue at Burnley.

I think Rooney may well start that one.

Agreed on this. Wouldn't surprise me to see him rested at least once with Martial, Lingard, Mikhitaryan & Rooney playing in the forward positions.

Yeah, and I just spent the night doing a show in which I discussed Zlatan, only to have it rendered pointless by tonight's events.

Another twist - what a season.

Gotta feel for the early Zlatan adopters. We can knock 'em for going early but, lets face it, we've all been tempted when those 0.1's start to pinch.

Tremendous work, Mark. I know there are the complainers and the detractors, but no site comes close to this one for insight, analysis and banter. Much appreciated.

    Ibra - Rojo - Jak > Rashford - Bailly - DDG (-8)

    DDG
    Bailly - Davies - Holgate
    Hazard - Sanchez - Alli - Eriksen
    Aguero - Negredo c - Rashford

Pick - de Roon - Yoshida - Stephens

    I haven't got a wildcard so GW36 and 37 a consideration.

Leaves me with loads of cash to ..

de Roon, Holgate and Negredo to DGW options

    VS City

    DDG
    Bailly - Blind - Darmian

Just used my FT for Ibra -> Negredo.

Is it worth -4 to bring in Gibson?

    Grant (Randolph)
    Alonso Baines Bavies Mawson Stones
Sanchez Alli Zaha de Roon (Siggy)
    Negredo(C) Kane Lukaku
(would play Gibson Alonso and either Baines or Bavies)
    thanks 🙂

Tempted to WC to this team after getting in Ibra with my FT earlier this week. Have a lot of ground to make up and don't think taking hits is the answer.

    DDG Pickford
    PVA BAILLY GIBSON Alonso Stephens
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Sane Ward-Prowse
    RASHFORD NEGREDO BENTEKE

5m ITB to get rid of 2 x Boro and 2d CP players for DGW 36/37 players. The rest of the squad are DGW players already.

Last time I panicked like this was in January when Costa (c) fell out with Conte late on a Friday night - I duly shipped, got Kane and he bagged 34 points.

    Every cloud...and all that.

Asked this earlier today but with United rotating and knackered after 120 mins is it possible Burnley could get a clean sheet? Have Heaton and Valdes as keepers, Valdes currently starting in hope of him making the Sunderland match, do I:

    A) Start Valdes
    B) Start Heaton

ON WC. Was on this before today. Was planning on using frees + hits to get in more DGW37 players. With Ibra's injury, can spread the cash more...

    Pickford (Jaku)
    Gibson Bailly Yoshida (Davies Holgate)
Alli Zaha Sanchez King (De Roon)
    Lukaku Kane Ibra (c)

Would you suggest I keep this DGW in mind and get in Benteke or save myself a transfer and just get in Gabbi from now?

Hazard or Firmino for the next 2?

  23. Krafty Werks

    Robles (Pickford)
    Bailly, Baines, Fabio (Stephens, Olssen)
    Sanchez, Zaha, Alii, Eriksen, Coutinho
    Lukaku, Benteke (Ibra)

Already took a -4, still have 3 (possible 4 DGW'ers if Fabio is fit?) so i suppose i just wait on Ibra news now and play Coutinho in a 3-5-2 which isn't so bad right?. Agree? Or would you do Ibra > Kane for a -4 straight away?

    Thanks.

Do you think Kane is going to get the points that the player you would bench for him plus an extra 4? Depending on the player I would say it is possible.

I just did Ibra to Negredo and Albrighton to Hazard! I will play AOA:

    Jaku
    Mawson VALENCIA
    Hazard(c), Sanchez, Alli, Eriksen, ZAHA
    Kane, Lukaku, NEGREDO

    VALDES*, Alonso, Holgate, Stephens

I know it's crazy to cap Hazard but I have a feeling he will haul... But I can change to Zaha or Negredo, I don't know what to do! I am chasing 100 poits behind a leader who will probably captain Sanchez... very tough this week...

That is a very strong team!

Captain this week is tough. I personally wouldn't go Hazard against Southampton but Negredo & Zaha would worry me too. Struggling for a captain too.

This may seem crazy given their lack of goals and poor form but is anyone looking at Defoe for the weeks ahead? He certainly has the fixtures and also has a double week to come:

    34: Middlesbrough (a)
    35: Bournemouth (h)
    36: Hull (a)
    37: Swansea (h) & Arsenal (a)

I just think that they need to have a go now and if it's going to be anybody it would be him who does the business.

Valencia or Gibson for 34/35, already have Bailly and Rashford but no other Boro.

    Thanks.
