The Knee Jerk – Gameweek 34

We were braced for disappointment and, four matches in, the Gameweek has delivered just that.

While it would have been hopelessly optimistic to expect big returns from Saturday’s limited set of fixtures, it’s already clear that we may have to settle for consolidation, if not damage limitation, from Gameweek 34.

Middlesbrough have been quick to snatch the role of arch villains.

Brought in by 201,000+ FPL managers – second only to Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford for transfer traffic – we started the day wondering if striker Alvaro Negredo could possibly grasp hero status. Sadly, it seems we already have our answer.

In truth, Gaston Ramirez is perhaps the real culprit behind Boro and Negredo’s miserable afternoon. The Uruguayan’s needless back-to-back cautions reduced Steve Agnew’s to ten men having already fallen behind to an early Josh King goal at Bournemouth.

That hindered their toothless attack and meant that Negredo would again be starved of service. Agnew’s side mustered a pitiful five attempts on goal, with Negredo treated to two of those efforts.

Meanwhile, at the back, Ben Gibson – brought in by more than 118,000 FPL managers – marshalled a defence that capitulated to concede four goals and return zero points.

With both Hull City and Swansea City earning victory, the concern now is that Boro may be on the verge of giving up the ghost.

They will face Sunderland on Wednesday for their second Gameweek fixture in what has the makings of a dead rubber. The loser will sure be relegated, the victor, in all likelihood, will be accompanying them. A draw would be useless for both.

Optimists among us will be willing Agnew’s side to lift themselves – to bounce back from today’s damaging 4-0 reverse with a convincing performance with goals and a shutout.

However, we have to question just how much they have left in the tank. We didn’t neccersarily expect profit from the trip to the Vitality Stadium, but we could hardly have envisaged such a fruitless defeat.

Over 155,000 (3.5%) put the armband on Negredo, including 27 of the top 100 FPL managers – Rashford, with 20, was the next most popular armband option. That is a staggering statistic and evidence of just how a double Gameweek can turn heads and warp the decision-making of even the leading managers.

To be fair, today’s big single Gameweek asset fared little better.

Everton’s Romelu Lukaku started his clash with West Ham as the most captained – backed by 602,000+ (13.6%) of FPL managers.

No doubt buoyed by his record of nine goals in nine appearances against the Hammers, it was the Belgian’s statistic of just a single goal in his last seven away trips that proved a more worthy indicator of what was to come.

Luakaku mustered just a single blocked shot on goal as a dull London Stadium encounter passed by with a whimper. That was typical of a day of disappointment.

There’s still some way to go, but already the fears surrounding the fools gold of double Gameweek 34 have been realised. It remains to be seen if Rashford and Crystal Palace’s assets can change the outlook.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Not sold on either tbh, Walker could see rotation with Trippier and Costa is out of form.

Jones Sunderland enough said and Aguero isn't worth the outlay for what he has returned

How do folks see Pep handling the Aguero vs. Jesus decision? Not that anyone can really ever predict Pep... Do folks see Jesus getting 60+ minutes and if so, would he get it along side Kun? I don't see both getting 60+ minutes and as such, I think there is some risk to go with either...

Could be anything and anybody being rotated. Don't forget Pep not only rotates but also has the added problem of playing folk in odd positions. Jesus could be a problem for all of

Aguero, Sane, Sterling, KDB and Silva.

My advice would be to run away.

Having had both Aguero and Jesus earlier in the season and the captaincy decision(s) single handedly destroying my 10K rank... I can assure you that the pecking order will be 1. Jesus, 2. Aguero.

Yes, Aguero has scored 5 in 5, but look at the team's results over that period... 2 wins, 2 draws and a defeat. That's not good enough in Pep's eyes.

what Pep said on 14 April about Kun:

"It was always good, from the beginning, it was always good," he said of the forward's attitude. "No complaints. Maybe now he understands better what we’re looking for. He’s trying and that is what I want. When he misses chances, always you can improve, but we’ve no complaints."

See from about 7:45 in this interview http://bit.ly/2oAwjWr

my feeling is Kun tries hard to do what Pep wants, but Jesus does what Pep wants.

        1. Dr Dream
          • 11 Years
          6 years, 12 months ago

          Agreed.

But equally. Just because a player plays the Pep way doesn't mean the same as they play every game. I'm fairly sure that Pep has a rough rotation worked out in his head for all of his squad (injuries permitting)....And that includes both of Aguero and Jesus...in fact it includes everybody...

I think every city player carries an element of risk as you rightly point out. Though with Jesus being cheaper and as Pep's preferred striker it makes him a better option. In my mind I need some City cover and - let's see how Jesus does this week - he would be my choice over Kun and Sane. Keeping a slot for a pool mid instead of Sane. That's kind of how I see my GW37 team at the moment.

I think Jesus and Sane will hoover up most of Man City's points over the remaining gameweeks.

In effect, we have 2 free games (vs Arsenal and United) to observe and identify the best picks for Boro in GW35.

It still allows for a lot of flexibility though. United could very well be focused on EL for the rest of the season and we remember what happened last season when Liverpool did the same 😐

City and Chelsea definitely look really good, but only any more than Hazard and Alonso from Chelsea is asking for it imo. City's rotation could turn their line-up into a guessing game as well...

I wish city had a settled defence it's going to be a minefield picking the right one.

I don't think Kompany suits Peps style of play though playing out from the back so even when fit he might not be as nailed on as he was under previous managers.

Do people feel glad to have kept the WC for this long?

I used mine a few months back to set me up for GW28, I think, and looking at the Season Ticker, I now need to take a hit to get 2 x Man City players this week, and load up on Chelsea the week after. Maybe -8 tops?

By not having the WC at this stage, also meant I didn't get in any Middlesbrough players due to their awful run in (except Valdes who became DDG before the GW kicked off).

The WC is such a powerful tool, I think it should be used when there's a big fixture change or a -12 is being considered.

Seriously Andy? You've taken 32 points worth of hits between GW27 - 29, and don't feel a WC would've been better used back then?

          I also jumped from 80k to 30k 🙂

Going to make a few changes with the wildcard to take advantage of the doubles now, happy enough with current position.

It's been a funny old season OR-wise. I was up to 10k when I brought in Jesus to partner Aguero rather than get Lukaku for his 4 goals vs Bournemouth, then next week captained Jesus when he went off injured instead of Aguero, etc,.. but I'm still clinging to 30k without Kane. Seems really forgiving as maybe many people are making similar "mistakes".

Same. Also by having it its meant I've had way more freedom for this so called lesser DGW.

Also don't forget this is 2nd year of chips and actually some of us didn't do too badly with WC+BB last year.

Get the selection right for DGW37, with a WC36 and you can utterly smash it.

What I'm trying to say Fred, is that I think I'll be able to have my squad well and truly lined up for DGW37 without major surgery.

                  Lukaku at home against Watford?

We know what the big Belgian is capable of when playing at Goodison against defensively poor teams and he will want to secure the Golden Boot before traveling to Arsenal in GW38.

Don't think I'll have space for Lukaku

Very expensive, Chelsea at home and 2 away fixtures in the 4 left.

              DDG (2) - Jaku (cpl)
              Baines (WAT) - Bavies (2) - Brunt (2) - Valencia (2) - Alonso (2)
              King (BUR) - Alli (2) - Eriksen (2) - Hazard (2) - Zaha (HUL)
Benteke (HUL) - Gabbidini (2) - Lukaku (WAT)

Lukaku and Zaha will become DGW players and maybe Benteke too, so yep, nearly 100%.

Come on, Dino, be kind! I have 2 GWs, let's say 4 transfers (-8), to tackle my SGW players and even they have favourable fixtures in GW37.

Plenty of coin in the bank to freely make moves too.

A WC would be nice, of course it would, but I was able to make changes for the next 6 game weeks and not just GW37/38.

I know... you haven't riled me yet, Dino 🙂

It's funny; except for DGW's where we may have a punt on a player for a GW or two, we don't intentionally bring in bad players. Really, it's a test of how long our patience is.

Take Siggy and Llorente this GW. I had that pairing up until a couple of weeks ago, and probably looks hits to take them out. Spurs thrashed Watford the other week while Firmino and Coutinho looked off the pace and I took both Liverpool mids out for Alli and Eriksen only for both to score away to Stoke. Yes, Alli and Eriksen have continued to score, but sometimes transfers aren't needed.

Long story short, it can be difficult to judge the urgency of a WC 🙂

No doubt it's a powerful chip to have ahead of GW37, it's just that the fixtures are so tough for all except Citeh and Chelsea so it feels a little like an opportunity lost earlier on.

Obviously I'm speaking with my team in mind as I was slow to get onboard with Spurs attacking assets.

Delighted that I WCed for GW30.

Ruthy was right all along I think. I reckon I can can match some late WCers in 36 and 37 with only a few hits and the massive points I gained with early WC means I'm happy overall.

Far from well set up kid I'm afraid. You've got 3 boro players in your team and two palace players.

Your team structure doesn't look set up to allow you to take advantage of the big hitting forwards and defenders with nice games for the last three gws either. I'm not sure what your bench boost ideas are either but again don't like your chances of optimising your squad with players from teams who have something to play for that are playing teams with nothing to play for.

The last point is the big one when it comes down to it as you simply dont have the this info when you play the early wc.

The beauty is we'll never know if it was right or wrong

Whether it pays off or not there's no way of knowing whether you would have done better or worse if you had or hadn't wildcarded at a certain point

I've risen in rank without wildcarding and won't have to take as many hits now until the end of the season. Is that better than wildcarding earlier and taking less hits before but then more now?

        We'll never know 🙂

Since Az wildcarded in GW26 here are out net points totals (not including this week):

                Az = 484
                Me = 476

Does that mean he shouldn't have wildcarded? No.

Does that mean I should have? Nope.

Please FPLVIRGIN, stop being so judgemental about other people and how they play the game. It really annoys me when you are acting like there is one right way to play this game. If you see "problems" in the way other people play, keep those to yourself. Pay respect and be more nice.

I wildcarded in GW29 as I felt my team needed it and I've gained 368 points since then. Gained 2m+ in TV and had 4 big green arrows. 300k to 70k (ish). No chance I would be anywhere near that if I hadn't have wildcarded in my opinion but like you say there's no real way to tell for sure.

The fact you have your WC has meant you've been less disciplined with your team this DGW, surely? Would you, Mark and Jonty all have got Negredo / Gibson in if you didn't have a WC in your pocket to take them out?

(I know Negredo could still come good)

Not really, I always like going heavy on DGW players.

I've only taken a -4 this week. -8 last week was to match a ML rival, no big deal.

I'm roughly 70 points better off from the GW30 WC than if I had have continued with my old team.

And that's from a 4.5k rank before I used it. Selling Siggy and Lukaku was key for me, their replacements outscored them by far. Plus I got loads of defence points over my previously rubbish defence.

So, "we'll never know" doesn't ring true for me (apologies for sounding like Ruthy 🙂 )

But you wouldn't have just stuck with your old team from then until now without making any changes. Maybe a few hits here and there before a big change later on in the season.

I'm not saying either way is better, just saying we'll never be able to know for certain as it's impossible to play out the alternative scenario

I just ran your non-WC29 team through from your GW30 with the odd free transfer (from your WC team) and brought in the very same transfers you made and I reckon you are 55 points better off (Lukaku GW 32 haul would have been a cert captain) ... 55 points is pretty much an excellent uplift in 4 game weeks so it looks as if the WC certainly paid off for you. The thing is though, you could have probably bought those 55 WC points with an extra -12 hit.

However, you now have Pickford, Fabio, Gibson, Negredo (SGW relegated) Zaha, Benteke (SGW) which you will probably need to sort out with -12 hit by GW37 and may even have injuries as well to sort out.

It is hard to tell, but I reckon you will end up breaking-even had you taken a -12 in GW30 and WC in GW35/36, in comparison to your actual strategy.

Thanks for analysing my team so thoroughly! 🙂

I WCed that week as my team needed it after punting on a few players in the previous 3 GWs, some of them did well, some did not. I needed to clear out some of those plus I had injuries (PVA), a non-starter (Holebas), McAuley whose fixtures turned to poo, Mignolet from a team that can't defend, Sane (didn't like his next 2 at all), Defoe (didn't like his next 3 at all), Lanzini (didn't like his next 2 at all), and double Swansea attack that I wasn't overly confident in. I also upgraded my 5th mid the week before to play AoA, so my team structure was out of kilter.

I wanted rid of all of those players (and rightfully so, looking back with hindsight). Those transfers would have cost 36 points (not 12) and as you say, you estimate that I am 55 points better off (I estimate 70!). I went from 4.5k to top 1k.

Yes, I will need some hits for 37 (not 36 as I have Sanchez and 2 Saints already). However it won't be a huge hit in 37 for my BB.

So, in conclusion, it was a success for me but as others have pointed out, there is never a right or wrong time, only the right time for YOUR team.

              Cheers!

Don't know where the rest of my post went here? It read "That is a key difference my team needed it" < - if your team is broken and you are looking at -16+ or so to fix it then you play the wc regardless.

My only point was tactically I don't think it was best to play it early this season as we don't know who has what to play for in the end and we don't know the make up of the dbls.

If there was a seismic shift in fixtures then it might be a different story.

You had the same points in 26 - 29 as 30 - 34 though (you did TC though so could argue you did better post-WC.

A few hits in 30 would have steadied the ship for you and probably provided similar results, and now you need a few hit to sort out 36/37.

If one needs you use a WC then use it, but otherwise I don't see much difference really in an early or later WC, except complete flexibility in 36 to WC for DGW37 with the full knowledge of form, rotation & injury

I've been able to get by with hits, WC 36 BB 37 looks a great strategy to me, right at the business end of the season too, not taking hits alone at that stage can be a major advantage.

Yes 'get by with hits' but realistically, your BB will probably cover these hits. Playing it earlier could have meant you wouldn't need the hits and you'd still be getting value from your BB

If I'd already played my wildcard then I'd likely be taking hits from now rather than in the past to get to this position. Check my team then tell me if you think I'd be better off having already played the wildcard or still having it to come and likely not needing another hit this season?

I think it's better to use WC early if you need to/know how to. Using it for the last 2 gws means you only have 2 gws you can take advantage of , whereas if used early you have a lot of gws (it's a marathon, not a sprint ;))

We have known for a long time that dgws are coming late in the season (and a massive 37) so it's really easy to plan for it without a WC and a couple of hits (which are OK because it's a dgw).

However, if your team is darn awesome throughout the season, it makes sense to save it for the last gws as a luxury chip.

There is no easy answer. I kept postponing my WC from 29 onwards and will finally use it now. I have done fairly in OR terms and gained in mini league terms as well. But it also meant I had to persist with sub optimal options like Llorente and Carroll far longer than I would have wanted.

I always fear using WC because I always end up picking one or two players I regret later on. Doing WC so late on will mean I won't have time to regret!

By now I have lost track of what I wanted to say.

If the team linked to your profile if yours - you scored 10 points more in the six weeks immediately after your GW20 WC week in comparison to the six weeks before your WC week - not a huge uplift ?

Also not sure how a GW20 WC was good planning for GW28 - you did not know the FA Cup teams and had a completely different team from GW20 to that in GW28?

Also since your GW20 WC you have taken 60 point hit and dropped from 17k to 29k at the moment.

I am not sure having a WC left necessarily correlates with bringing in Boro defenders ?

But hey, I am sitting around the 1 milllion mark so probably not qualified to comment

I thought I had an immediate improvement in the first couple of GW's but then the players I sold (such as Antonio, Siggy) went on a little run and I feltI didn't benefit by much.

I've always had a tendency to take points hits. It's only when these don't pay off is the OR seriously impacted.

I've made some really silly decisions in the past couple of months which actually led to me rage quitting a few weeks ago; I was so fed up with transfer decisions going against me when I put in so much time analysing the stats and enjoying the discussion on FFS.

I've come back and am playing it simply again. Trying not to overthink things and keeping a better perspective that this is a game and is not important at the end of the day. Whether my rank will recover, who knows, but I don't mind so much when things don't work out now.

I wildcarded GW29 and feel it's benefited me, my GW28 team contained triple WBA who had awful fixtures, Snodgrass who wasn't starting, Llorente with an injury and my 4th/5th defenders were non-playing Friend and Amat. On my wildcard I got in Yoshida and Maguire as my 4th/5th defenders and with the rests afforded to the likes of Valencia/Walker/Alonso they have regularly provided points off the bench that I simply wouldn't have got without the WC.

Bencrellin pointed out early on that GW37 would be the big one and with all the major teams featuring except Liverpool I didn't see great value in a GW36 WC as most would already hold the majority of key players (i.e. 3 x TOT, Sanchez, Alonso) before WCing.

I just ran your pre-WC team through to GW33, took a -8 in bringing in Yoshida (you would have brought him in for Friend/Amat?), and your exact transfers of Pedro, Sane, Zaha, Kane & Vardy (a week earlier due to Llorente injury speculation). Captained Erik when you captained Kane and guess what ? ... you are 15 points better off than if you had not used you WC.

You are certainly better off but it will be interesting for you to run a dummy GW36 WC & GW37BB to see if you can better your score by 15 points from 36 onwards 🙂

An interesting Hot Topic, with some interesting replies, but ultimately pointless.

In the end there is NEVER a general right or wrong time to play your WC. It is totally dependant on an individual and his/her team. Every team and manager is unique, and therefore statements like the original hot topic simply don't apply.

On a personal note, I have never felt compelled to pull the trigger, and WC teams I have come up with have not appeared to give the improvement on what I had to compare with the boost I am looking at in GW36.

However, others I know used their WC early to great effect, as their team was in a situation where a long term strategy of changing many players at the time had a good long term effect on rank. They have also been able to plan long term latter stages.

I must also add that I have seen some early WC that have been played that have actually gone wrong, where the player got the WC wrong and have suffered a rank drop over time. For me the freedom of knowing I have the WC in my pocket has let me take one or two punts recently without fear of long term damage to my team.

      1. Twisted Saltergater

I think the heading of this hot topic is a little misleading... and inciteful! This wasn't a discussion about playing the WC early is 100% the best time to play it and all other strategies are wrong. No, it was questioning if the way the fixtures and DGW's have fallen this season means that a WC now isn't *as* beneficial as playing it earlier.

If there had been a massive fixture swing where we needed say, Spurs and United players, then to switch to Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City, then we'd have all been struggling without a WC. But the season genuinely hasn't ended that way.

We can't actually compare as two teams are not managed identically.

I think to praise an early wildcard strategy because it worked out is neither here nor there.

It's the quality of the wildcard you played, and not when you played it. I have seen people play their second wildcard around 28/29/30 some have shot up some have gone backwards.

Some played a great wildcard and some didn't. I think people then associate their wildcard to when it was deployed rather than how well it was executed. They are two separate things.

Really wish I still had my wc because would love to bring in Sané, Jesus, Sanchez, Forster, Yoshida, Gabbiadini, Pickford + another DGW defender. Thats 8 transfers in three weeks, 20 point hit

I used mine in GW28, and my rank has gone up from 65k to 25k. Whilst still happy I went cheap at the back, my future plans to prepare for the DGWs were scuppered by injuries (Coleman, Mane, Kane, Gabbiadini, Valencia etc) so the gains haven't been as good as I was expecting.

Got a fair amount of stick at the time but would do the same given the choice again. Playing it so late (e.g. GW35 onwards) doesn't allow you to get the full benefit from it.

Yep, feel happy keeping my WC so long, thing is, you've to check two things-
      1) how many hits have you taken since your WC, not just exclusively for your WC team, so we've to see that since you took the WC

      2) too soon to write off DGW 34
Plenty of matches left, for me, it's better to load up on DGW players & see if they fail, coz you have the WC to fall back on, instead of not picking them & hoping for them to fall
As we saw yesterday, negredo didn't score, but neither did lukaku
Probably too soon for this whole topic!

I think I'll come out of retirement just this once, especially as I have been mentioned in despatches above.

I am in an odd situation with the wildcard because I still actually have mine! The reason is that I have genuinely never needed it. From GW19 to now my team has risen steadily from 95k to well inside the top 2k, I have taken only 3 hits in all that time and never more than one in a week. For me, the wildcard has served a strategic benefit by remaining unused; that has allowed me to play the weeks in front of me rather than needing to prepare for GW36&37 ahead of time.

Truth be told, I don't even really need it now, I could handle GW36&37 quite comfortably without it. So I agree with Philman in that regard; when best to use the wildcard is dependent on the circumstances of the team. I also agree with RCA (who apparently can't make up his mind whether to vilify or applaud me); if you saw that it could help you to have a major re-boot (especially from around GW29 when the rough shape of the DGWs was clear) then that was undoubtedly the time to pull the trigger. I was certainly very willing to do that had it been helpful for my team.

Actually, that was my view all along. The wildcards are the most powerful tools we have and much more important than the BB, which is (in my assessment) a mirage in terms of it's real value. My argument was therefore to de-couple the wildcard from the BB as some kind of automatic late-season pairing and to use the wildcard when it gave you the biggest benefit. After that I had (and have) no doctrinal view about when it should be played.

Some people want to insist that there is a "correct" or "optimal" way to play FPL. There isn't. There is good strategy and there is bad strategy. Some managers even appear to play with no strategy at all and are entirely reactive. But any strategy - good, bad or non-existent - is subject to eventualities (or happenstance, I know people like it when I use that word). A good manager will have a solid strategy but will also need to react to circumstances and events. So pontificating to others about what they should or should not have done is rather asinine unless you are thoroughly aware of their team (and probably not even then).

Although some people have wilfully interpreted many things I have posted on FFS in that dogmatic way, they were incorrect to do so. Mainly I wanted to offer comments about game strategy. About the framework of the game rather than the week-by-week decision-making if you want to put it that way. But the tactical management of a team is different to that and has to be done pragmatically by the manager concerned. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to every twist in the road faced by every team across 38 gameweeks.

Decoupling the WC from the BB in general is a fair enough comment because the BB is best used when the bench is strong, irrespective of a WC.

But in a DGW such as 37 there is a huge opportunity to have the strongest possible bench with very good double game week players without weakening the rest of the team ... in addition Rashford & Jesus maybe starting instead of Ibra and Aguero which frees up loads of ££££££ ... so there will be a lot of spare money to strengthen the bench in GW37 and this is best achieved with the assistance of a WC

... it is just the way the cards have fallen this year

I used mine in gw21 when I was plummeting at 623k, moved into top 50k in gw29 where i've been hovering around since.

Taken a -8 this gw but it's my first hit in the last 5 gws, I am looking at 14 dgwers in 37 for BB with just one hit. Also made a few luxury non dgw37 transfers including Origi and Gibson.

You have to be very good at planning but an early WC has much higher potential.

People write it off because they crave the biggest dgw score possible I think.

I panicked and used it in GW21, when my OR was 1.6m. Since then I've had 13 green arrows out of 14, so in my specific situation it was the right call.

My fear with Giroud is that Wenger will once again hand Welbeck a start (or two) in the middle - and that doesn't work well for anyone! Welbeck is a decent defensive forward, but he will never be a goal scorer (or provider)!

2 reasons I went for negredo over tekkers ( both a waste of space)

2 solely for the Sunderland game. Anything vs bou would have been a bonus

I didn't get chance to comment at the time...so fwiw...

I thought Spurs were absolutely brilliant today and, at times, made Chelsea look decidedly second best...and by a distance. Not the best of games for Harry Kane though which was maybe the difference between the two.

The future looks very bright for Spurs.

      Agree with the future.

The better side on the day and perhaps a little unlucky but I don't think they were that far ahead of Chelsea, or at least not as far as some are making out.

Chelsea missing a few key players for a lot of the match too.

I only saw from about 20 mins in until 20 mins before the end. They certainly dominated the part that I saw...although i'll accept what you say about the line ups.

Either way they look a real force for next season again.

I'm worried about playing at Wembley next season (potentially), Spurs look so good at WHL; faster pitch, shorter grass, whatever it is they look awesome. They are a good team but I don't think their home record will be as good next year.

Also I thought Kane did ok today, in one moment he reminded me of Marco van Basten in his balance and body strength.

As a football manager I watch Spurs and all I can see is damned near perfect football by the manual. They don't rely on the flash of the likes of Sanchez or Hazard, or the bullying of Costa, or the strength of Ibrahimovic...It's just really good football played as a team. Top stuff.

I of course agree 🙂 he strikes a very good balance with the players he has making the best use of their talents. But he really wants that player with extreme pace, Son has done very well but Poch wanted more from Sissoko. How well someone from that pacy Monaco attack would fit in...

A football manager you say? somewhere between Sunday League and Premier League?

Until Spurs can't pay the wages that their top players deserve. Alli Eriksen and Kane won't go unnoticed by the big lads for much longer.

I'm not sure Kane or Eriksen are going to attract Barca and Madrid and I can't see Spurs being bullied by United or anyone else anymore tbh .

It's not about being bullied. If you're Kane and you're scoring 20 goals a season in your early 20s you're worth £200k a week+ and £100m+ at today's market rates. That will only keep going up. Spurs have a stadium to pay off. Only a matter of time before things crack.

They played well but I feel as though they need to win something next season or they'll begin to lose players and faith in the manager.

I have a feeling the Premier League teams may do something in Europe now that the 4th spot isn't wasted on Arsenal anymore and if United open the 5th spot.

    Hows my potential WC? 2.4ITB

    Forster Pickford
    Alonso Clichy Holgate Yoshida Stephens
    Alexis Hazard Eriksen King Coutinho
    Kane Defoe Anichebe

Plan is to roll FT's to 37 then Defoe+Coutinho to Sane+Costa

Defoe has 2 great fixtures plus fighting for survival

Do you see Sunderland winning at 4 least out of 6 games?

I think today has taught us that quality is very much in the equation when it comes to DGWs. Having 3x Sunderland players will surely backfire...

Dont understand why people want DDG so much over Cech for DGWs? (United fan)

Okay United have better defence...buut rotations if defence, injuries, Europa League priority and worse league fixtures dont make it up...

Even with rotation, tired players and stiffer fixtures I'd still fancy Utd to clean more than Arsenal.
