The Gameweek 38 Team News

Laurent Koscielny remains a doubt for Arsenal’s home fixture against Everton. Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino faces a late fitness test ahead of Middlesbrough’s weekend visit, while Stoke’s Marko Arnautovic is a concern for the clash with Southampton.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss Arsenal’s final day home meeting with Everton, while Laurent Koscielny will undergo a fitness test today on a calf problem. Midfielder Aaron Ramsey is “alright” according to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, after being forced off with a knock in the midweek win over Sunderland.

Jurgen Klopp is optimistic that Roberto Firmino will recover from the knock that forced him to miss last week’s 4-0 win at West Ham – the Brazilian faces a late fitness test ahead of Sunday’s Anfield showdown with Middlesbrough.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe will be without Lewis Cook for the trip to Leicester City, with the midfielder away on international duty with the England U20s. Dan Gosling is fit again following a calf complaint, though, and Andrew Surman is also back in contention following a knee injury.

Winston Reid will miss West Ham United’s trip to Burnley after undergoing surgery on a long-standing knee injury.

Harry Maguire, Evandro and Abel Hernandez are all expected to miss Hull City’s home clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Andros Townsend has been ruled out of Crystal Palace’s trip to Manchester United with an Achilles injury, while Yohan Cabaye (foot) is a major doubt. Eagles boss Sam Allardyce did reveal James Tomkins is likely to be passed fit, however.

Marko Arnautovic is the main injury concern for Stoke City manager Mark Hughes ahead of the trip to Southampton after suffering a bang to his elbow in last weekend’s 4-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement could be without Borja Baston (knee) for the home fixture against West Bromwich Albion, but Angel Rangel and Wayne Routledge returned to full training last week and are expected to be available for selection.

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis revealed there were a couple of “knocks and bruises” suffered during the 3-1 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday night that need to be assessed, with Salomon Rondon (hamstring) believed to be the biggest concern. Gareth McAuley (knock) and Matt Phillips (hamstring) remain major doubts.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of Sunday’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

I kinda want Giroud, but can't get him without taking a hit.

Could just go Haz/Alli -> Coutinho.

Or just DDG -> Heaton...thoughts? Team looks decent enough as it is:

    Pickford (DDG)
    Kompany Alonso Luiz Holding (Bertrand)
    Sane King Hazard Alli Sanchez
    Jesus (Gabbi Welbeck)

I'll also be doing Haz -> Cout.

Giroud is prob a decent idea but depends where you are in your ML, as to whether or not you should take a hit

Pool should throttle a hapless Boro and Coutinho should get a high score. Anyone of the opinion this does not happen and they finish outside the Champions League and Arsenal squeaks in?

Is Haz -> Cout a no brainer for my team?

    Cech
    Alonso Monreal Yoshida

    Jesus Kane
    Bench: Pickford, Stephens, Anichebe, Holgate

Id bring in Bavies for the last week but it would make me look stupid for not bringing him in 15 weeks earlier. Sound theory?

Who should i remove for Coutinho:

      Kdb or Ozil?

Alli if you have Kane already, otherwise keep alli as some Spurs coverage is important imo

Hazard. He won't start. He looked exhausted in the last two games. He will be saved for the final, specially with Sunderland without a few regulars

Only a win will get me mini league top spot. Pickford Jakub
    Alonso Cedric stephens ake walker
    Alli king Sanchez sane Zaha
Costa Kane Jesus . Do 1) all to cout? 2) Walker to bellerin 3) change the goallie since they both sh**?

Keep Pickford. Get Bellerin and Giroud for Costa. If Ali is playing why bother getting Coutinho?

No. He will be saved for the final. Maybe get a cameo at the end. Bats has scored in the last two games so no reason to either. Sunderland will have players and motivation missing

I'm not gonna bother with Sky next year. The website and rules are a huge step down from the FPL, and this week I was sick and forgot to change my captain to Sanchez on Tuesday and Kane yesterday.

No. Get rid of Hazard. Get KDB, Sane or Couthinho

Trailing 10-20 p. in two of my leagues.
    1 FT. 0.4 ITB

    Caballero
    Kompany-Davies-Cahill-Monreal-Stevens
    Sanchez-Alli-Eriksen-Sané
    Lukaku

    Bench: Pickford, Redmond, Rashford, Barnes

Would like to get in Coutinho and/or Kane, but 2 hits would be necessary to get in both.
    a) Sané+Lukaku -> Coutinho+Jesus (-4)
    b) Alli+Lukaku+Cahill -> Coutinho+Kane+Matip(or another) (-8) bit of a long shot.
    c) Other suggestions?

Wouldn't change you defense as it is solid. Problem is Erikson didn't play last week so might get nod over Ali. Would wait till last minute for team news. Would also keep Sane. So Ali/Erikson to Coutinho. Lukaku to Kane.

To do Lukaku -> Kane I can't afford to straight swap Erik/Alli -> Cout. That's why I have to tale 2 hits

    Choose one:

    Gabbi out for Giroud
    Alli out for Cout
    KDB out for Cout
    Sane out for Cout
