The Dugout Discussion – Gameweek 38

The 2016/17 season comes to a close this afternoon, with all 10 Gameweek 38 matches getting underway at 3pm.

We’re spoilt for choice in terms of armband options for the final round of fixtures, with the top three players in this week’s Captain Poll – Alexis Sanchez, Harry Kane and Philippe Coutinho – are serving up their highest hauls of the season in Gameweek 37.

Kane’s four-goal blitz at the King Power takes him two ahead of his nearest challenger Romelu Lukaku for the Golden Boot, while Sanchez welcomes Everton on the back of three successive double-figure tallies.

Throw in champions Chelsea at home to relegated Sunderland (Eden Hazard and Diego Costa both start) and Man City’s trip to a decimated Watford defence and it’s fair to say that goals look very much on Sunday’s agenda.

So sit back and enjoy the frantic next couple of hours’ action – it won’t be until August 12 before domestic action comes back our way again.

    Chip gains throughout the season:
    Triple Captain: Aguero GW27, 27 points, (+9) gain
    All Out Attack: GW34, Maguire got 9 points, but I was going to bench Siggy (6) anyway if I didn’t play AoA, (-3) loss
    Bench Boost: GW37, Pickford (6), Yoshida (9), Stephens (8), Barnes (1), (+24) gain
    Most effective chip for me was the BB.
    Total chip net gain excluding both of the wildcards:

    Chips percentage of total score (excluding WCs):
    1.4%

    Ended up highest position since week 1, shame had to play so much catch up but pays to fight it and not give up...52 points in hits in last 7 weeks and 6 straight greens. I call that pretty fun 🙂

    291 points in GW37 & 38. Projected OR 5,490. Will be my 5th finish inside top 12.5k. Was 193K after GW23 and nearly giving up on this season! Finished 7th in my cash league, which I'm not too happy about, but still get paid out £81 so not all bad 🙂

        If the price is that close I would probably go Aguero. Seems like Pep warmed to him in the second half of the season.

          i owned costa and siggy for many games. Luckily it was Costa for the first half of the season and Siggy in the middle so they had a great ppg average for me

            For me it was the opposite.

            I got Costa after Kun's red card, then after his return from suspension, then after he scored vs. Hull after China-gate and finally after Southampton haul. He managed to disappoint me every single time.

            With Siggy I got him after his haul vs Palace for the easy run of 5-6 games. He managed 1 assist. Then sold him for the difficult fixtures, he managed 3 goals and 5 assists or sth. Then got him again for blank GW28 and he started blanking again. Then got rid of him after GW34 and voilla - he scored in 35.

      I think the auto subs have cooked my chances of finishing in the top 20k but it is my highest rank of the season. Was 26k just before Christmas before plummeting to 176k and clawing my way back from there. Enjoyable as always.

      Could have been 2K finish. Fluffed it big time by swapping Costa and Kane on WC DGW36. Will annoy me for a while.

      Weird thing is I just wanted that elusive 10K finish. Was on 6K but scored 16 below avg. hopefully hang on in there.

      Got 93 this gw, happy with that.

      Since discovering FFS, (Dec/Jan) I went on a strong run to the end of the season.
      Thanks to the community of FFS and the excellent job the hosts do with the in depth scoutcasts. It helped me massively. I ended up topping my work league out of 40 people and coming 2nd in my money league (£60).

      I did 102 with a carroll of the bench.
