Memberships Now Available

Fantasy Football Scout memberships for 2017/18 are now available for the pre-season price of just £12.50.

Last season’s memberships expired on June 1 but you can now renew to get access to the members area.

Existing registered users can upgrade via this link. New users, who are yet to get a registered account, can sign up via this link.

Payments can be made through Paypal or via Stripe using debit or credit cards.

If you’re new to the benefits of Fantasy Football Scout membership, you can get full details, along with a series of movies previewing the content, via this page.

We’re hugely grateful for the support shown by our members each season and, having invested in a redesign of the main site last year, we’re now fully focused on building on the members offering.

Mat – our new dedicated developer – is currently working on an array of fixes and new features, with the first update set to go live in the next 48-hours. You can find details of the work in progress in our previous “Development Squad” post – the first of many to come over the summer and the season ahead.

You can also see our immediate task list and progress on existing tasks right here.

That task board demonstrates our intent to be transparent on our future plans and work with you to ensure that the member’s area can become even more valuable to you as Fantasy managers.

If you’ve any feedback or suggestions of content that you’d like to see added to the members offering, then please feel free to drop me a line at support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have been known to use the ticker and watchlist occasionally but for the sake of £12.50 it is great value for money just even if it kills of few hours of boredom and you never know I might even start taking it serious next season.

I get membership every year and pretty much never use it. I've always got it so I can 'give something back' to the site. Mainly because of the brilliant community. I do feel it's starting to lose that community feel though. But that's the price of success.

I have to agree. The comunity is almost dead. This is the most active I've been on FFS all season. During the season there's no point posting. Overcrowded

It is madness during games but when has that not been the case.

Us lucky North Americans (Canada here) get the DZ and it's quiet but there is still traffic. Not sure I'd post as much if I had to use the site when everyone else does

That's a shame Syd .... it's well worth the £12.50 to put back a little into the site. I certainly don't use all the tools but that's not the point for me. It just wouldn't feel right to expect all the work that goes on behind the scenes to be delivered for free. It's only the equivalent of a few pints of peer of a couple of bottles of wine.

    Hi Mark,
Will the members tables include gameweek wise ICT index data this year or will it be exclusive to the fpl website again? The FPL website doesn't really allow to sort by gameweek or use it in comparison tool etc.
I understand you guys provide it to FPL but can't you mirror the same information here as well? I miss checking the top 10 ICT index every week like the year before

yeah i dunno to be honest, but as you've said in the linked post, the premier league money is obscene, it really is. even at a little north of 100 million£, they'd still be fairly low on the EPL standings. money doesn't guarantee quality tho, which i suppose is part of the point. still love it tho, where would be without defensive calamities from time to time

Tbh, I hate the way they pour money to football. I'd love the FIFPro plan, no transfer fees, no agents, no player loaning, squad size limits, forced to keep each signed player in the squad for 2 seasons minimum. That would solve a lot - although it could also create absolutely unbelievable pay checks for the players, which is probably a big part of the FIFPro plan, that's what it exists for anyway.

yeah it's a difficult thing to solve, especially seeing it's "working" on the surface, in terms of some people making an absolute killing. can't see any big changes in the short term

And to think that Juve is the only club outside Spain and England that would make it to the PL TV money table at all.

But it's only TV money. Teams like Juve, Milan, PSG and Bayern make more in match day and merchandise than most PL clubs (about all except Arsenal and ManU, maybe Chelsea). That said, the TV rights are the main source of revenue now. That's why the TV broadcasting also trumps the sportive aspect in match scheduling. Which is absolutely disgraceful.

very true. i suppose it comes down to marketing around the world, especially asia, where the premierleague is far ahead of the others it seems.

Looks like Juve received €123m last year, which is about £106m.

      http://www.totalsportek.com/football/italian-serie-a-tv-rights-money-distribution/

As the most-watched league in sport, it should come as no surprise that the Premier League were able to negotiate the biggest television deal.
Worldwide, it's picked up by over 200 countries and an average game is watched by north of 12 million people. Serie A is around 4.5 million.

If it's not Real, ManU or Barca, and I don't think it will be (except maybe ManU), then there probably is no club that can offer more than Arsenal. Another question is whether Arsene will offer what Arsenal can. I doubt that.

Lacazette if the rumours are true. Jose prefers someone with a bit more hustle and bustle, i.e. Drogba/Costa so I think Lukaku makes more sense and is more likely

Have a only watched him a handful of times in this seasons CL but has stood out in every one of them.. has a fair presence about him too think he's about 6ft 2 very elegant too.. heard great things about Bakayoko but looked a bit ponderous to me when i saw him.. impossible to judge on a few games but was just my initial thoughts.. Matic pure quality premier league proven.. closest thing to Keane in terms of tenacity would be Nainggolan at Roma.. smashing player

It depends if you think a negative variance to xG results from bad luck or bad players/management. But on the assumption there's at least some bad luck in the mix then yes Saints players may be value next season.

I think he already is a good player, at least when I watch him anyway. Just needs to add some goals to his game which I think he can do if he(or someone else) helps refine his game.

I had Redmond for 13 whole gameweeks to start the season just because he looks like a good player when you watch games. Hasn't translated to good FPL player yet.

I've always wondered, are professional players in the PL allowed to play FPL or does that create some sort of conflict of interest that PL won't allow? And are there any players that are respectably good at it?

They are. Memory's quite hazy but I saw the Stoke players private league before and I *think* Peter Crouch was absolutely bossing it. Funnily enough, I can vaguely remember someone posting here years ago that Andy Murray was (probably still is) in the FFS league and had some legit way of proving it

PL players frequently feature on the FPL Show, so it must be OK for them to play FPL - but I would imagine that there shouldn't be any money prizes involved.

There were no Andy Murrays in the FFS League this season. There used to be one in our league, but it may not have been the tennis champion (Murray is quite a common name). However, tennis champion Andy did use to be in an FPL mini-league with other leading tennis players and coaches, but I think he may play a different fantasy game now.

Andy Murray was on Lawro's predictions on the BBC for GW37 - he mentioned needing Lukaku and Baines to do well for his fantasy team. Can't have been that good if he still held out of form SGW players for GW37 😉

Why can't more hulked posts be archived? There are good ones that aren't hot topics that sometimes are worth finding again.

    Hey guys,

Setting up a draft league next season and looking for a bit of help around the scoring system. I'm keen to have passing (successful passes), interceptions, blocks, clearances and tackles all considered for points - we'll be using fractional scoring so I'm looking for help around assigning value to these. An example would be having each completed pass worth 0.1 points, which would give 10 passes = 1 point. The idea around including these kind of stats is to give value to the players who are essentially worthless in regular fantasy, as the nature of the draft format means that there's going to be a necessity for more viable players.

    My current thoughts are:
Completed passes: 0.05 (20 passes per point)
Blocks, interceptions, tackles: 0.5 points each

The idea then is also to tweak these for different positions - a striker might score less per pass, but have a higher points per goal/assist than a midfielder. Equally a defender might have a lot of pointless passes, meaning that their points per pass should be slightly less, and their tackles/interceptions etc slightly increased.

What I'd like from the community is some thoughts around a par score - if you figure a goal is worth 6 points to a striker, then what would an average performance from a midfielder look like. I think I'd like around 3 points for passing to be an average score (so 0.05 = 60 passes to reach 3 points), a goal I'm thinking about 5 points, assists remaining at three. The difficult is around trying to make the most amount of players possible viable, whilst retaining the allure of stud players. Because there's no budget limitations in assembling your team, a system where a Bournemouth defender who does a lot of tackling and blocking is potentially worth playing over a Chelsea defender who does significant less defensively but is more involved in the possession and attacking game is a tricky balance to find.

Best to run a pilot (test) league for a few weeks and then daft for real during an international break in my opinion. You'll need input from participating managers.

I run a 60 team draf league, but we use pretty basic stats.

fantrax does have tons if scoring options though.
