The Numbers Game – Bournemouth

After assessing Arsenal’s performances over the previous season, our team-by-team analysis continues with a look at Bournemouth.

We’ll compare the Cherries’ displays to the previous campaign and check out their chief goal threats and creators in 2016/17. We’ll also delve deeper into the performances of Josh King from Gameweek 22 onwards in light of the late-season output that made him a must-have for many Fantasy managers.

We will then look examine the lessons learned and assess how these influence our approach to Bournemouth’s assets for the new season.

In a successful campaign, Eddie Howe’s men improved upon their sixteenth place finish in 2015/16 to end the season in ninth position on 46 points, up from 40 points last term.

Bournemouth also increased their potency in the final third, rising from 45 goals scored to 55 – only six sides (the top five and Everton) found the net on more occasions.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Only concern is lack of Spurs offense. Might downgrade Alonso and upgrade Pedro to Alli/Eriksen.

Spurs at Wembley is a wait and watch situation. I would get a Liverpool mid in that team.

Any chance Firmino is 8.5 or under? Maybe Salah? If not...Lallana for Pedro.

They won't list Huddersfield as Terriers in the drop-down menu so why is Tottenham listed as Spurs? They were still listed as Tottenham up until 3 years back.

At the club's request, it is because they can't be called "Tottenham" and "Tottenham Hotspur" doesn't fit.

            Morning Mark.

How many premium defenders are you looking at for GW1?

With the rise of the wing back, is the attacking, set piece centre half (e.g. Scott Dann) now dead as an option?

The ICC Cricket thing has brought many Indians here. I think it has to be India considering the number of people who are a part of the Cricket league and the posters I know.

Yes. Increasing the importance of other games like Cricket and banning a few brexit loving posters who have a problem with everything from Norway fpl to Cricket should definitely add to the attraction.

At the present exchange rate, it's 1000 Indian rupees which is not that high tbf. But it cannot be afforded by students like me. So a different fees could work. I'm not sure to what extent.

                        Agree!!
1000 is a bit on the higher side, compare to 12.5 pounds. I know this since I visited UK last year. A cup of coffee and a veg burger cost me almost 6 pounds.
So 12.5 pound isn't a big deal in the UK I guess.

1000 Rupees on the other hand is a considerable amount for many here in India to spend on a GAME.

Great stats. I'm very interested, if/when it is confirmed, in getting Defoe in. Tempted to go 3-5-2 with Defoe and Kane (who'll be 13.0) up top, then a killer midfield.

I'm hoping for 7.5 valuation. Was 7.0 last year to begin with last time out, and sun got relegated, but he finished 5th for strikers.... Hopefully that'll render him 7.5....

Bournemouth could be a decent side this year as well, with Bego moving there too: he was solid in his Stoke days.

There's also a link to Lindelof and Kolasinac there. We have a Knockaert and Ederson also ready to go, but feel like Ederson may be mothballed as ffs have covered him well enough already

Today I'm working from home so I'll writing one on klaasen, a final future trends article and a shorter one on other things that have been going on recently and get them out the next few days (after the wedding though of course for some of them!!)

feel like its a pressure signing and hes the best they can get in that position for an amount they are now willing to spend. I think it improves the squad but not necessarily the starting 11 and if so not by much.

It's probably more of a case of redistributing their money, that splashing the cash with Barkley and Kaku likely to leave this summer.

Defoe in no.9, King behind him at no.10: Afobe definitely reverts to backup striker. Question will be if Howe pairs Defoe with the near-fit Callum Wilson in a 4-4-2 to sticks with the lone forward.

Players who come from the Dutch league seem to be very hit and miss - for every Suarez and Eriksen there seems to be a Janssen and Depay. I'd probably not take a plunge on him from week 1, unless he shows amazing pre-season form. Can always transfer him in later 🙂

Kolasinac looks a decent prospect, given his last year's performances, so I don't blame you there! Am writing up a review of Mr Klaassen too right now, but also the signs look good... however, a bad opening set of fixtures really dampens his appeal... better for GW7 when they have BOU BUR bha!!

Something that was said earlier today got me thinking.... When I use this site and watch the scoutcasts I automatically think that everyone must be from the UK but this is obviously not the case. I would be interested to know where everyone is in the world, be good to know who and where we are all conversing with. Might be better to do this in the season when FFS traffic is far greater but thought I would ask the question now as well. I'll go first.....Devon, England.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave Real Madrid following tax fraud allegations, per Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

Madrid is the best place for him if he wants more big titles and more Balon d'Ors, i reckon he knows that too. Think this is just a game for getting more appreciation and pats on the back and a pay raise but if someone knocked on the door and wanted to splash €150-180M for him i would sell though.
