Fantasy Eliteserien – Gameweek 13 Preview

After a two week break Eliteserien return this weekend. Here is a short preview of Gameweek 13,  including an international round up, latest injury news and a look at some key differentials to consider.

INTERNATIONAL ROUND UP

In Norway’s World Cup qualifier against Czech Republic Tore Reginiussen (Rosenborg) was the only starter from Eliteserien. He left the pitch with an injury after 32 minutes.

For Norway’s friendly against Sweden Ander Trondsen (Sarpsborg) played 90 minutes, while Ohi Omoijuanfo (Stabæk) got his debut off the bench at half time.

There were a lot more players involved for Norway U21’s 5-0 win against Kosovo U21. Rossbach (Odd), Ryerson (Viking), Hanche-Olsen (Stabæk) and Yttergård Jensen (Tromsø) all got a start, while Zeknini (Odd), Reitan (Rosenborg) and Hoff (Aalesund) got apperances off the bench.

Hanche-Olsen and Reitan scored a goal, while Ryerson and Zekhnini was among the assisters. Sadly for Norway U21 it looks like the result will be changed to a loss, as Celtic player Kristoffer Ajer played even though he was suspended after a red card for Norway U19 earlier this year.

Riski (Odd) got 90 minutes for Finland against Lichtenstein, Rolantsson (Brann) got 90 minutes for Faraoe Islands against Switzerland and Mets (Viking), Baranov (Kristiansund) and Teniste (Sogndal) all played 90 minutes against both Belgium and Latvia for Estonia.

Singh Sandhu was India’s captain against Nepal, Sigurdarson (Molde) got a 13 minute sub apperance for Iceland against Croatia and Rasmussen got a 30 minutes sub apperance for Denmark U21 against Sweden U21.

Rosenborg’s depth in defence will be weakened in the coming gameweeks. Alex Gersbach will be playing in Confederations Cup for Australia, while Jakob Rasmussen will be playing U21 Euros for Denmark.

INJURY NEWS

I have to be honest, I haven’t manage to get an update on all injuries. Tore Reginiussen (Rosenborg) was subbed with an injury for Norway, but is expected to be back for Rosenborg’s clash with Haugesund this weekend. Sander Svendsen (Molde) got an injury last gameweek and isn’t expected to be back this gameweek. Sarpsborg are hopeful Jonas Lindberg will be back this gameweek.

Ghayas Zahid (Vålerenga), Samuel Adegbenro (Viking), Luc Kassi (Stabæk) and Robert Lundström (Vålerenga) are suspended.

DIFFERENTIALS FOR GAMEWEEK 13

Jean Alassane Mendy (5.2, Kristiansund, forward)

The Kristiansund striker has in exceptional form lately, scoring in the previous three Fameweeks. With a decent home fixture against Aalesund I back him to do well once again.

Aleksander Megalvis (4.3, Lillestrøm, defender)

I have been backing out of position midfielders for Lillestrøm in the previous two differentials picks with great success. This week I opt for defender Megalvis, who’s also out of position, playing as a right midfielder for Lillestrøm. His 2.9% ownership and a great home fixture against a Viking side, without key player Adegbenro, looks enticing and could provide returns at both ends of the pitch.  Previous picks Knudtzon and Udoji are also great selections for this fixture.

Martin Ramsland (6.5, Sogndal, forward)

With the lack of obvious differential picks this gameweek I opt for Ramsland. He’s a good option from the budget picks and last Gameweek he picked up a goal and an assist at home against Sandefjord. This time around he has another home clash, although he will have to be on top form against visitors Odd,  who have kept five clean sheets in their last six.

Sorry to ask a question that's been asked before, but could someone tell me when does the first half of season wildcard need to be used by? I can't seem to find that information on the site.

Thanks. I'd planned to finally upgrade Shuaibu this week, but I've the exact cash to do Matthew -> Haugen. I can keep Shuaibu for GW14 & GW15 (fixtures are ok), and then do a mini-wildcard for GW16.

    The round has been finalized.

I went from a round rank of 44k before today's game to a round rank of 4.4k.

        62 points.

Rolantsson, Haugen and Braaten got me 30 points, while Stølås came off the bench with 6.

Ah, I see. Round rank. I thought you meant overall rank, which seemed implausible, barring a massive score.

I scored 63 this GW, which is by far my best round rank of the season.

Moe, Ryerson and Knutzon all out for me next week. Who to ditch?

    1. The Quiff
      • 11 Years
      6 years, 10 months ago

Has to be one of Moe or Ryerson. Their returns have been terrible for the past 8 gameweeks (11 points for Moe, 10 for Ryerson). Meanwhile, Steiring (Sogndal, 4.0m) has returned 36 points in the same period, for example. Word of warning, however, Steiring's fixtures don't look great over the next 5 gameweeks. How much would you have to spend?

I'll be missing Moe and Knudtzon myself, but I'm planning on holding. Hopefully Svendsen is fit next week so I'll have one sub.

Nothing wrong with that. You could have worse subs.

Knudtzon is worth keeping on recent form (player and team). The other two...... not so much.

Any blank game weeks or double game weeks coming up ?

    Thanks

I think, with an emphasis on "think", that Tromso - Odd and Valerenga - Haugesund are blanks in gameweek 16. I also vaguely remember reading something about one of these games being penciled in for gameweek 26, meaning a double.

Don't take this as gospel though, and start making plans, until someone more knowledgeable comes along and gives you a definitive answer.

VIF-FKH is 100% being played after the next international break, likely GW24.

TIL-Odd is postponed on the official calendar, but a new date is not set, and both teams still operate with the original date in their fixture list.

          Thanks, Ramboros.

Strange postponements. I'm guessing it's Eliteserien policy to give teams the weekend off after an away-leg Europa League match. (Both Odd and Haugesund will be playing in Northern Ireland on the Thursday before GW16).

On a side note, I'm predicting Dundalk to beat Rosenborg over two legs in the Champions League.

It's a policy that if the teams request a postponement during the qualifiers, then it will happen. In FKH's case, Vålerenga's imminent move to a new stadium is probably part of the reason the fixture has been postponed for a while.

Tromsø away is by far the furthest travel in the league. Fagermo has been complaining about the fixture for a while, so it's quite predictable that it will be postponed.

Yes, I can see how the travel would cause an issue for Tromso. At the start of the season when we had to pick a team for the supporter's league I picked Tromso, due to their geographical location making them look like the outsiders of Eliteserien.

He's the least nailed on player in the line up. He's been quite good in the last two matches, so I think the only way he loses his spot is if Skoda/Ajeti performs in Knudtzon's absence and Knudtzon gets pulled back into midfield.

Knudtzon to SIF mid? Over next 4 games, personally think RBK, ODD, SAN (+ maybe MOL, SIF) have best fixtures so perhaps someone on form among them. Otherwise only a few weeks to use wildcard.

I'll probably take Knudtzon out. He's suspended and I didn't think he'd be very good when transferring him in either. I'm happy with my 0.2 profit.

Who have the best fixtures for next 5 weeks? I like Veldwijk's form but they have tough fixtures. Maybe Braaten or Barmen but Brann fixtures are also though.

Those with their 1st WC still intact, which are the key players you're planning on bringing in/keeping?

I've been away from this site and Fantasy Eliteserien for a couple of weeks now (forgot about the new GW this weekend and left Seck on 1st bench...), so I feel I need to get up to speed regarding who's hot and who's not. 🙂

        1. Niemi
          • 9 Years
          6 years, 10 months ago

For me I would have included these players on a WC:

          Brann defender (Rolantsson, Nouri, Leceijewski)
          Odd defender (Grøgaard, Ruud, Rossbach)
Rosenborg defender (Reginiussen, Hansen, maybe Hedenstad)
Haugesund defender (Knudsen, Stølås, Haraldseid, Bråtveit)
Seck if you already own him (wouldn't buy at 4.7 I think)
          Haugen (Brann)
          Andersen (Strømsgodset)
          Zahid (Vålerenga)
          Sigurdarson (Molde)

I would consider a double up from Brann, or maybe even Rosenborg with their great fixtures, at the back. I would include a bench fodder either in midfield or up front, depending on formation (Mendy or Shuaibu up front, Södlund in midfield). Probably would include a Rosenborg midfielder as well due to their amazing fixtures, although their form suggest otherwise. Hard to pick forwards. Probably one-two out of Mortensen, Ohi and Mos, depending on if you go for a fodder in midfield or up front.

A lot of picks for the remaining midfield spots: A. Sigurdarson, Adegbenro, Jradi, Brochmann, Gyasi, Braaten, Jevtovic, Midtsjø.

Also be wary of players that might leave in the summer: Leceijewski, Nouri, Adegbenro, Trondsen, Zahid, basically every player doing well.

And remember the blanks in gameweek 16: Haugesund, Odd, Tromsø, Vålerenga

        Hah, who knows any more...

Rosenborg-players are now seriously on the no-no list, as a team completely out of shape.

Seck is hot, picking up points no matter what
Brann the hot team, Haugen the top mark in midfield, loads of options around him, from Nouri, Barmen, Braaten, Rolantsson (who gets 61 mins and not 59 mins these days)

Knutzon was a hot ticket item, he is currently YC suspended, although they were going to protest it.

Bjørn Bergman Sigurdarson in Molde looks the only "Must-have" striker option, with the rest of the pack falling short. Myself I'm considering budget options behind him now, but things may change quickly.

Some usual suspects like Rosted, Brochmann and Mortensen are still on the pad.

All in all it's pretty slim pickings, got to follow close on every bit of news coming through to get a nibble at the pointscorers.
