After Aaron Mooy fired Huddersfield to victory over Newcastle, we make our way to Wembley as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head in Sunday’s final fixture.

A victory for Spurs today would set a new club record of 15 successive home league wins, yet their record in competitive matches at Wembley – two wins, one draw and seven losses – is anything but convincing.

Subject to over 164,000 transfers out last week, Harry Kane has now gone 11 Premier League matches in August without finding the net.

Yet Kane was still the second most captained player for Gameweek 2, handed the armband by 526,000+ FPL managers as he looks to recover from last Sunday’s blank at Newcastle.

Both Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli plundered the points at St James’ Park to put Kane in the shade.

They also combined for both goals in the corresponding fixture last season, with Eriksen supplying assists for Alli’s pair of strikes in a 2-0 home win over the champions.

For Chelsea, Alvaro Morata is handed his first start after emerging from the bench to bag a goal and assist in last week’s shock home loss to Burnley.

But there’s no Eden Hazard as he fails to recover from an ankle injury in time for the Wembley encounter.

          I can't argue with that but you do realise that Kane converts his chances better than any striker in the league and plays for a team that creates lots of chances. This is an interesting read, explains better than I would in a single comment:

            & because you sound like a nice gentleman unlike a couple of people above, let me tell you. I know Harry Kane is quality and I love him, had him in my team for a majority of span last season and he delivered big time. But, for a fact I know that he's generally a slow starter.
            I'm not saying he won't ever come good this season. He will and we all know that. Just that I'd rather spread my funds elsewhere until he starts firing. 2 FTs or a hit would be good enough to get him back once the points start rolling. I just don't find it convenient to have a 12.5m player who doesn't deliver.

              That's fair enough. Certainly makes your team easier to change if your funds are spread more evenly. Unless you are regularly captaining Kane (which I will despite going Lukaku twice so far), he doesn't represent good value.

              Would you feel the same if the two shots that rattled the post had gone in and he was 2 in 2? That seems more like variance than a struggle to score. And variance has a funny way of correcting itself.

              Either way, I get your point. I'm going to stick with my original decision and see how it plays out.

      He has been unbelievably unlucky: two good chances against the post in first two gameweeks, bags of chances. There is no logical reason not to captain him next week, but there is an illogical fear lurking in the back of my mind: what if he really is cursed in August?

      I think this has been the best start I've ever had to a fantasy season. Tempted to take a -4 to get Chicharito in as, without sounding full of myself, I feel I can justify losing the four points as I'm slightly ahead of the curve.

      Going to have to captain Lukaku again next week out of fear, but may go for Kane and be ballsy.

      This happens every season (maybe not with Kane) where there's a big exodus of a player before a good fixture and then they explode.
