The Big Numbers – Gameweek 3

We turn to the Opta data next for our regular post-Gameweek check on the top performers over the weekend for members.

A host of midfielders catch the eye this week, with assets from Liverpool, Spurs, Leicester and Stoke all impressing. The growing influence of Burnley’s playmaker is also highlighted as we also check in on Manchester City’s left-back debutant at the Vitality Stadium.

I've actually had Yosh & Bert for the first 3 GWs, 32pts from those 2. Saints fixtures just so good. I see another 4/5 CS in the next 8. That'll do me.

What about the rest of it??

Jones will probably require a transfer at some point (injury) - I'd upgrade Mbemba to a 4.5 tbh

Yeah, have De Gea at the moment but budget won't allow him to stay. Jones is at least at a price where there are plenty of options if/when injured so not too much of a big deal. 5th def is bench fodder, but going Kane & Pog instead of Kaku & Erik would give me another 0.6 to upgrade. hmmmm.

Ox to LFC for approximately £35-40m for a player with 10 months left on contract has surely been great business from the Arsenal.

Great player in small periods of previous seasons.

Klopp "could" bring out the best in him as a winger/wingback or something else !

But at "that" price surely that is a massive risk or a transfer master stroke, only time will tell.

Coutinho is either gonna be sold tomorrow for a humongous price or a future deal will be agreed July 2018 with Barcelona to coincide with incoming Keita.

VVD has surely gotta now be "the priority" to tighten LFC leaky defence then and only then can LFC fans talk about claiming the Premier League Title

It'll take more than VVD to give them a defense good enough to win the league

Defence is just as much about organisation, shape and teamwork with the midfield then the quality of your defenders. For me Liverpool, City and Arsenal don't have the defensive mentality required to win the PL. Utd's title to lose IMO.

35m + for a player who is in his last year of his contract and bang average in all the positions he can play,i.e, RW,CAM,RWB is crazy.
When you go think of it, just last year, Mane & Mkhi joined for less than this fee, seems ridiculous

Hasn't really got enough on the bench to play CL and PL to the max and still put out reasonable teams for the domestic cups.

The ox wont play wing or fullback.
The reason he chose Liverpool is to play midfield.
Wenger played him out of position for 5 years.

Remember the 18 year old that made the euro 2012 squad really suddenly?
By 24 Wenger has let that potential rot
Maybe now he can get back to being the powerful midfielder he was at 18

I wouldn't Alonso is your typical "Baines" defender. Buy him then never bench, never captain. Could be his last season as a defender.

    Alli Salah (C) Pedro Ince

      Lacazette isnt "Excellence" yet
Pedro isnt a good fpl pick esp with Haz back
      Alonso MUCH better than Azpi
I would pick about 4-5 players in that price before I would pick Ince

It's approaching 2018 and Arsenal still sell players to their rivals. Alexis will go if the money is upped, that's a massive change from 'not for sale'. Feel for Arsenal fans.

Arsenal are having a fire sale...I'd be pretty p%ssed of if I was a supporter.

      Gabriel sold (without replacement)

Mustafi, Ox, Sanchez on the brink

Only Lacazette and Kolasinac coming in.

"It is believed Oxlade-Chamberlain spurned the advances of the champions due to his desire to work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and play in midfield.

The England international is capable of operating wide in the attacking areas, and has also previously filled in as a wing-back with Arsenal - but it is the centre of midfield where the 24-year-old sees himself long term."

And last season he had 6 goals ,21 assists with most woodwork in PL. Kind of like a deja vu for me from last season, where he plays deep in some games and then scores hauls in some games.

Feel like the Ox has put Liverpool in a position where they can't not bid for him, and it's cost them Lemar

Any ideas as to how much a move to City will affect his value? Can he still be worth 12 million if he's not the main man?

Do you reckon they actually hand it in somewhere? Like, fill out a form at home in their best joined-up handwriting, name at the top, and bring it on on time, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, in a smart folder of their favourite colour?
