The ScoutCast – Episode 232 – Feisty

“This is how the ScoutCast was meant to be” exclaimed Granville.

He’s not wrong. If you’ve successfully avoided this brand of nonsense to this point, episode 232 provides a less than gentle introduction.

Just don’t expect me to take a beating every week.

That’s certainly what pans out over this lengthy landmark episode which finds me rolling the punches after my “ill-timed” Wildcard.

Granville and Jonty take turns to dish out the blows, while Andy and Az make uncomfortable spectators.

Once the scuffle dies down, we do our best to address the latest community questions, assessing strikers, mid-price midfielders and the latest wing-backs demanding our attention.

But, for once, that forms the undercard for the “big fight”.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Final WC team. (Probably!)

    Gtg and set up right?

    Foster.
    Davies. Alonso. Jones. Kola.
    Eriksen. Mikhi. Choupo.
    Kane. Morata. Firmino.

    Elliot. Doucoure. Gamez. Carroll.

Set up right? Or start Doucoure over Choupo?

(Choupo is away to Newcastle. Doucoure is home to City, but he's scored against pool and saints already...)

    Thanks!!!

Doucoure won't keep it up, he's this season's Capoue. (good player though)

Thanks. I like the number of potential sources for solid scores.

Should make the whole weekend more fun instead of relying on 5 or 6 big players...

Should I use my wildcard? Only have 1 FT. This is my current team.
    Forster (Elliott)
Yoshida / Jones / Hegazi / Alonso (Long)
Salah / Carroll / Ritchie (JWP, Pogba)
    Kane / Jesus / Firmino

No need to wildcard. Just get a Pogba replacement and you're all set.

Hi guys - I'm on a -8 this week (1.6 ITB) with the following team –
    De Gea
    Davies, Dawson, Alonso, Dann
    Salah, Choupo-Moting, Mkhitaryan
    Kane, Morata, Firmino

    Elliot, TC, RLC, Rosenior

Is it worth wildcarding? (therefore saving the -8). My wildcard would retain most of the attacking players but add a Spurs midfielder, and change the defence drastically.

Really would like to get Vardy in with those fixtures before WC after gw 7.
It looks like only way is to do Pogba to Gross and next week JRod to Vardy.

Mmm. If I get Gross (tasty fixtures) my midd is looking awful (Salah, Tadic, Gross and Ritchie) but then if no injuries forwards Kane-Kaku and Vardy. Would like to get Tadic out also. I hate this game right now hah.

How many other strikers in that price range other than Firmino?

    2. Pariße
      • 9 Years
      6 years, 6 months ago

Yep. At a similar price, Firmino is a much much better choice. Vardy will probably have returns worth of a 7.5m player, the roof is much higher for Firmino.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

Vardy has 3 goals in 4 games and has the kindest run of fixtures there is and no CL to worry about...Firmino isn't "much much better"

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 9 Years

It's not just a case of that range - it's the next range too. Firmino is imo the stand out option at that range - every other Liverpool option is more expensive. Morata is just over 1.5 more (I got him at 10 when Vardy was 8.6). Jesus is less than two more. Lower down, the likes of Hernandez and Rooney will score points. In the midfield bracket, there is very little in the sub 8.5 bracket. One fit United option..Silva perhaps, and then lots of meh options.

Imo Mkhitaryan to Mahrez will become a popular transfer on here in coming weeks.

I'm not sure what you're getting at, I don't think a huge front 3 is worth it, so it leaves Vardy or Firmino. No striker below 8.6 is worth a damn in my opinion. I'd rather take Ritchie in the midfield.

    3. That Was Easy!
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      • 9 Years
      6 years, 6 months ago

Also, it's Vardy or Firmino as a third striker, I think most people are easily fitting in 2 big hitters with one of them.

      1. tm370
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        • 9 Years
        6 years, 6 months ago

What I'm getting at, is that there is a rush for Vardy because of Leicester's fixtures. What I'm arguing is that Mahrez makes more sense. His stats are better, he gets more points from goals and from clean sheets, and I'd prefer Firmino at 8.5, striking options at 7.5 compared to comparable midfield options, or even a Jesus, Morata, and Kane triple up which still allows a good team.

        1. That Was Easy!

Vardy isn't a stats player. He's an eye-test type and has Pen's, which is why I want him.

Difference of opinion, I'm sure Firm and Mahrez do well too.

Any ideas about two Man City defenders most likely to start every match?

Backline is looking like for WC with 7.3 left

Davies, Mendy, Bertrand ,Clark, and someone.....

Can't add another Spur. Like the idea of another city player. Could just get Alonso now, but such bad fixtures for the next 3. If I get a 5.5 city defender I have the money to bring in Alonzo for any 5.5 guy later on

    Would really appreciate any thoughts.
