Yahoo Focus – Gameweek 7

Our partner game Yahoo are offering another big Premier League £10k Saturday contest for the upcoming Gameweek.

This consists of the six Saturday matches that take place from 3pm onwards, ending with the 5.30pm clash between Chelsea and Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Guaranteed to run, it’s £5 to enter and is a multi-entry offering, allowing you to select up to 10 teams. The top 450 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £1,000 going to the Yahoo manager who finishes in top spot.

Our selected XI will therefore focus on this contest, which offers the biggest pay-out over Gameweek 7.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo offering has a scoring system that is ideal for members of our community on the search for a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

New players can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promocode: Fantasy50.

It’s also worth checking out this Strategy Guide before selecting your XI to give you a better idea of the mechanics of the Yahoo game and those players who are likelier to profit.

My Strongest XI

David de Gea – £17
Antonio Valencia – £17
Aaron Cresswell – £14
Craig Dawson – £13
Eden Hazard – £23
Eric Choupo-Moting – £18
Junior Stanislas – £14
Grzegorz Krychowiak – £13
Romelu Lukaku – £29
Jamie Vardy – £22
Andy Carroll – £17

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up could be subject to change.

Up against a Crystal Palace side that has yet to find the net, David de Gea is an obvious contender between the posts. Given that keepers earn points for wins or draws and claim double the points for clean sheets than defenders, the Spaniard still looks worth the outlay. Man United are the only side yet to concede at home, while the Eagles roll up without a recognised striker after Christian Benteke was sidelined through injury.

We’re doubling up on Jose Mourinho’s defence and call upon Antonio Valencia for the Palace encounter. Rested from midweek Champions League duties in Moscow, he looks set to be unleashed from the off against Roy Hodgson’s strugglers. Only Henrikh Mkhitaryan has supplied more crosses than Valencia so far (28 to 26), with the latter ranked among the top two defenders in the final third for touches (171), passes received (107) and successful passes (94) over the first six Gameweeks.

West Ham’s Aaron Cresswell has been one of the main beneficiaries of a recent change in formation by manager Slaven Bilic. Unleashed as a left wing-back in a 3-4-3 set-up in Gameweek 4, Cresswell has produced more crosses (47) than any defender over that period and has taken 16 of his side’s 17 corners. The Hammers have two clean sheets in three since that switch and host a Swansea City side that rank bottom for goal attempts (40) this season.

Craig Dawson is our West Brom weapon of choice as Watford make their way to The Hawthorns. Along with Ahmed Hegazi, he is the only defender to start all six matches for a Baggies outfit that have conceded just one goal in three home fixtures. Dawson boasts a consistent goal threat, having netted four times in each of the last two seasons, with five of those arriving at home.

Eden Hazard is our only pick from the 5.30pm clash between Chelsea and Man City. Intriguingly, the Belgian was handed a central role in Wednesday’s win over Atletico Madrid as Antonio Conte opted for a 3-5-2 in Spain. He fired four attempts on goal and created seven chances – more than any player in the midweek round of Champions League matches. Hazard scored three times against City in the league last season, including both goals in a 2-1 win in the corresponding fixture.

Eric Choupo-Moting earns the nod as Stoke City entertain Southampton at the bet365 Stadium. Since being handed his first start in Gameweek 2, the Cameroon international has fired 15 efforts inside the box – only Harry Kane, Romelu Lukaku and Sergio Aguero have managed more. Considering that the rest of the Stoke squad managed a combined 22 shots in the penalty area over the same period, Choupo-Moting looks the most likely to break the Saints’ resilience.

Handed his first league start of the campaign last weekend, Bournemouth’s fit-again Junior Stanislas offers a budget-friendly option at just £14. Last season, the winger scored or assisted 53.3% of his side’s goals when on the pitch, more than any team-mate. He supplied the assist for Josh King’s recent cup winner over Brighton and followed that up by producing more crosses than any other Bournemouth player in Saturday’s 2-1 loss at Everton.

West Brom’s Grzegorz Krychowiak has been quick to make an impact since making his debut in Gameweek 4. The loan acquisition from PSG is joint-top when it comes to tackles (nine) and leads the way for interceptions (nine) for the Baggies over that period. His combative display in the centre of the park looks vital as Tony Pulis’ side seek to prevent Watford from chalking up a fourth straight win on the road.

Romelu Lukaku may be the priciest player in the Saturday £10k game, but there’s no way we can ignore him for the Crystal Palace encounter. A midweek brace against CSKA Moscow took the Belgian’s tally to nine goals in eight appearances for Man United this season. Considering that the Eagles shipped five away to Man City last week, Lukaku could wreak havoc against Roy Hodgson’s strugglers on Saturday.

Leicester’s Jamie Vardy makes his way to Bournemouth in fine form. The Foxes striker has netted five times in the opening six Gameweeks, netting against the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool over that run. He’ll fancy his chances of extending that streak against a defence that has conceded more shots in the box (62) than any side this season. Vardy is expected to shrug off a minor hip problem to feature.

Andy Carroll looks set to be handed a start as West Ham welcome Swansea to the London Stadium. Utilised off the bench against Spurs last weekend, the target man’s record when playing the Welsh side has convinced us he’s worth a punt. Carroll has racked up five goals and three assists in his last six outings against the Swans and the Hammers’ recent switch to a wing-back set-up will ensure he’s supplied with plenty of crosses. At £17, he’s far cheaper on the budget than team-mate Chicharito (£22).

This Week’s Contests

As mentioned above, the Premier League £10k Saturday contest offers the biggest pay-out – this gets underway at 3pm and covers the six matches over the remainder of that day.

Once again, the Saturday 3pm slot has the three biggest prize contests of the weekend.

There’s the Premier League £2k Saturday, which costs £10 to enter and has a minimum win-back of £20 to the top 60 Yahoo managers. Guaranteed to run, you can enter up to two teams for this contest, with the winner earning £200.

The Premier League £1k Saturday costs £25 to enter and is also guaranteed to run. The top 13 Yahoo managers share the prize pool – top spot earns you £200, with a minimum win-back of £50.

And Yahoo are also running a Premier League £1,000,000 Perfect Lineup Cup , which takes place over Gameweek 1-19.

There’s £40k in prizes on offer, with £30k shared among the top 5,000 and £10k going to the winner. The Yahoo Cup also has a “£1,000,000 challenge”, which gives away £1m to any user who selects the perfect line-up in any given Gameweek to score the maximum possible points.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Register here to claim the bonus.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

    Already have Lukaku, Kane

Would be best move be Aguero --> Lacazette, for next GW --> Morata?

No real midfield cover from big hitters -- just Salah, Ramsey.

      Foster
      Monreal, Davies, Trippier, Bailly, Cresswell
      Ramsey, Miki,

        Thoughts on this plan...
This week: Play Jones (TCarroll on 1st bench, Mbemba 2nd).
        Switch Kun to Morata.
Next week (injuries permitting): Firmino to Jesus.

This route avoids hits currently - sound okay?

Other options include get Kaku and play a hit next week, or take a hit to cover Jones' place.

Cheers for that informative press conference Jose. Looks like I'm keeping Jones.

My subs are Zanka and Mbemba so decision now is who's the best goal threat for tomorrow to be first sub or swap 1 out for cresswell.

        Wildcarding after this GW.
        Pick one:

        A) Jones > Kolasinic -4

        B) Play Carroll
