The ScoutCast – Episode 235 – Swingers

Careering out of the international break at speed, the ScoutCast returns in anticipation of a turning point in our seasons.

We’ve been chattering for several weeks on the much anticipated “fixture swing”, and now we’re all set to put ourselves at its mercy.

What does it mean for our Fantasy line-ups?

In truth, with multiple transfers and Wildcards at our disposal, Jonty, Andy, Luke and myself started this latest episode still seeking our own answers. Over almost 90 minutes and with your community questions providing the steer, we do our best to reach some conclusions.

We weigh up Manchester United exit plans, Liverpool’s blunted attack and Jamie Vardy’s recuperation techniques, before previewing Gameweek 8 in the usual hap-hazard style.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

and City. All PL teams seem to have their hardest group CL fixture as their double header now sadly

yeah, not much in that I don't think. Just really want that power house front 3 when Morata is back fit and firing, not convinced my old Jamie right now

I'll see how Vardy does, if he doesn't do well it will be tempting to bring Morata in by gw10 for the captaincy option

Yeah, if you have the budget, go for him, but be patient, as he can play deep. He does well when Aguero is out especially and everyone hates him because he trolled at the start, but he is only 7 points behind everyone's darling Silva and has barely taken off. Have my doubts about Silva's sustainability, but he's doing well, so you can't argue with that too.

    Elliot
    Davies Cedric Ward
    Salah D Silva Eriksen Carroll
    Lukaku Kane Vardy

    Woodman Wimmer Mbemba Obiang
    2ft 0 ITB

    My plan-

    This week Obiang to Loftus.

    Next week -4
    Ekiksen Vardy Mbemba
    to
Richarlason Morata Stones (still loose plan!)

    Any thoughts welcome

better hope Jesus goes up once more then so I can atleast get 0.1m profit before I transfer to Aguero

However, I don't think Aguero will play although I'm skeptical about Jesus's minutes. We could see Sterling start upfront.

I'm no computer programmer, but it seemed like such an easy thing to add last season. Five games in and it didn't matter much, but 25 games in and it would have been nice to see a Totals line.

At that price, Wimmer (Stoke) has the best rotation with Burnley, the problem is he isn't assured of starts if Shawcross ever makes it back. Newcastle (Lascelles, Clark) would be next best, I think.

Not much contact going on in that session. I still don’t buy that he’ll be back before the West Brom game. Surely if he takes another whack on that rib he’d be in trouble, it’s too risky.

First touch Aguero would get he'd have Darren Fletcher smashing straight through him.

Yeah, their next three are Stoke, Burnley & West Brom, all of whom like to mix it. If he does play he’ll be getting a few nudges in the ribs at least 😉

Someone made a good point earlier

Was it ever confirmed, like by a doctor or Man City rep that is was broken?

Could have been a crack or bruising and rested over international. But do agree prob too early this week. Back for next week imo

Yeah, people call them bronken, but technically they not usually. Had one myself, they just leave thm to heal as they just cracked. If broken they wouod require surgery to put right, and im 99.9% sure Aguero had none of that

Bottomed and in need of advice before price rises...
So the Aguero news totally screws with the last 2 weeks of WC planning/tinkering. Thinking Vardy over Jesus now.
Looking at the next 5-6 weeks would you:

    A) Silva + Sterling
    B) Silva + Salah
    C) Silva + Eriksen (have Kane)

...I'm assuming Silva is considered the "safer" pick out of him and Sterling

The common understanding is that Otamendi is more nailed than Stones, yes?

That's true but I'm not convinced about it. I think Kompany, Stones and Otamendi are interchangeable depending on fitness.

I don't know what the common understanding is. Personally I don't think either is secure of selection every week unless Kompany breaks down again.

    and
    Burnley v Manchester City

have 8.7 left for bench fodder for a defender + mid , would you go

    a) mbemba + RLC

    b) wimmer + carrick

defenders are : bavies - otamendi - mee - naughton

    midfielders : hazard - choupo - sterling - richarlison

    feedback much appreciated

I would never get bench fodder from a top team. You never know when you may need to triple up on their assets.

I've no Kane and the armband was on Vardy. I was having a hard time choosing who to captain this week anyway: Lukaku, Jesus, Vardy, Eriksen. So Alonso looks an ok punt against a Palace team with no firepower?

I like how your thought process was "it's too hard to decide between all the good options, so I'll go for a worse one instead" 😛

In all seriousness though, if it's 6 guaranteed points (and you'd assume that's the case vs. Palace) many of us would take that.

Haha, yeah and the outside chance of attacking returns as always. I just want a story for Jonty's Rough with the Smooth - Kola to Alonso(C) for a hit, 30 points in the bag haha 🙂

Haha, hope it works out for you - a double digit haul would be a great story.

Knowing my luck Kola will get a double digit score and Alonso a red card! At least that would still be good for Rough with the Smooth 😉
                Good luck over the weekend!

Was set on this WC team: (0.2 ITB)

    Fab II Elliott
Davies II Azpi II Walker II Ward II Clark
Salah II Silva II Richarlison II Surman II 4.5
    Kane II Jesus II Vardy

Now got a desire to get Hazard in for Salah (atleast for the next 2 gw - may do haz to salah and vardy to morata when he is fit)
Best way to find 1.2m to enable Salah > Haz?

    A) Walker to Stones & Ward to Mbemba (+0.3m)
    B) Walker to Cedric +/- Azpi to Alonso
    C) Any other move?
