Dugout Discussion – Spurs vs Liverpool

After Arsenal swept aside Everton at Goodison Park, we turn our attentions to Wembley Stadium as Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool bring the curtain down on Gameweek 9.

All eyes are on Harry Kane, who is still seeking his first league goal at Spurs’ temporary home.

Despite that record, he is second only to Romelu Lukaku in the race for the Gameweek 9 captaincy – 18.4% of FPL managers have handed him the armband.

Given that only two of the top 10 captains have scored so far, a haul from Kane could have a major impact on the overall standings.

Elsewhere for the hosts, Ben Davies is passed fit to return but surprisingly has to settle for a spot on the bench along with Danny Rose.

Sold by over 195,000+ FPL managers last week, the Welshman has started just two of the last five Gameweeks and next faces a weekend trip to Old Trafford.

For the visitors, Mohamed Salah, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino have the chance to play their way into our plans as the fixtures turn in Liverpool’s favour from Gameweek 10.

And James Milner – listed as a defender in FPL – could also be one to watch as an out of position option, with Jurgen Klopp naming him in midfield this afternoon.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Don't need Salah and Coutinho. And Diouf a poor 3rd striker imho.

      I'd play 433 instead of 442

    Stones, Jones, Cresswell, Lowe, Gamez

I've already used my free transfer (Tadic was falling tonight and Richarlison risign so thought id save the 0.2).

Worth taking a hit? and if so, who?

Kane's Wembley problem in a nutshell.

Spurs crossing the ball a lot more at Wembley than at White Hart Lane last season (due to the bigger pitch).

More of Kane's goal attempts at home are headed attempts, way up on last season.

He scored hardly any goals with his head at home last season.

Plus the BIG chances have dried up at Wembley. He is getting lower quality chances, which suggests smaller teams are raising their game when they play at Wembley for the first time.

I feel the rotation risk is a little exaggerated, as he only missed one game due to rotation. Other two are because of illness (he's only just recovered and was therefore not fit enough to start today).
He's in the form of his life right now, so the LB spot is his to lose as long as he's healthy
That said, I may get rid of him anyways for the next couple weeks because Crystal Palace at home is a prime fixture to rotate, especially right after a big game with RM :/
