The Weekend Team News

Spurs are dealt a massive blow as Harry Kane is ruled out of their trip to Manchester United. West Brom have concerns at the back ahead of a home clash with league leaders Man City, while Bournemouth have mixed news up front as Chelsea roll up to the Vitality Stadium. Here’s our round-up of the team news so far, with eleven press conferences still to come today.

Earlier this morning, Spurs confirmed that Harry Kane has a minor strain to his left hamstring after undergoing assessments.

With a Champions League clash against Real Madrid in midweek, Mauricio Pochettino admitted that his star striker will miss tomorrow’s crucial trip to Old Trafford.

“We cannot take a risk for tomorrow, we’ll see after for Wednesday (v Real Madrid). But tomorrow, it is impossible.”

Fernando Llorente or Son Heung-min will now lead the Spurs attack at Old Trafford, with Pochettino perhaps set to field a 3-4-2-1 formation.

Meanwhile, United’s first-choice centre-halves Phil Jones and Eric Bailly, along with Marcus Rashford, were all pictured back in training yesterday.

Arsene Wenger has no fresh injury concerns ahead of the home encounter against Swansea City.

Martin Olsson is almost certain to miss out for the Swans due to a hamstring injury, while Renato Sanches and Wilfried Bony remain sidelined.

James McArthur and Chung-yong Lee are both doubtful for Crystal Palace’s home fixture against West Ham United due to knocks.

Georginio Wijnaldum has recovered from a knee injury, and is fit to return for Liverpool’s home meeting with Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers’ Elias Kachunga has trained all week following a back injury, and is available for the Anfield clash. Collin Quaner has a chance of being involved after stepping up his recovery from a calf injury.

Roberto Pereyra will miss Watford’s home clash against Stoke City due to a hamstring injury, while Sebastian Prodl and Younes Kaboul remain out.

Peter Crouch (back) is a slight doubt for the Potters, while Bruno Martins Indi remains sidelined.

Tony Pulis will be without Craig Dawson (knee) and James Morrison (achilles) for the home encounter with Manchester City. Gareth Barry (hamstring) and Jonny Evans (groin) remain concerns for the Baggies.

Jermain Defoe is back in training following a hamstring injury and “should be fine” for Bournemouth’s home match with Chelsea, according to Eddie Howe. Josh King has recovered from illness but is now doubtful due to a back problem, while Ryan Fraser will be assessed after picking up a knock in midweek.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche revealed Chris Wood is “touch and go” for the Monday night meeting with Newcastle United due to a hamstring injury, but Sam Vokes could return following an abdominal strain.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this tomorrow’s 11.30am deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from today’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

No good captain option for tomorrow.
Sitting on 3 city players: silva/jesus/sterling

    Should I do Kane + Silva -> Aguero + Salah (c)?

or keep Kane and do: Bavies + Sterling -> Moreno + Salah (c)?

    Cheers

If I've learnt one thing over the years it's that there is one guaranteed way to jinx your team and that's to captain a Liverpool player (since Suarez left).

Don't agree with this transfer out panic, they sound pretty confident that he'll be back next week and he's hard to get back in once he's out!

Would agree with above, captain Jesus.

Why the Chalobah transfer? Can that not wait until when you have a spare free transfer?

I am personally keeping Eriksen all season but your two transfers do look good.

    Elliot
    Otamendi • Cédric • Duffy • Ward
    Salah(C) • E. Hazard(vc) • Richarlison • RLC
    Aguero • Vardy

    (Fab / Kane / TC / Yedlin)

I was very close to W/C, now really thinking about it. Would you?

    Elliot DDG
    Jones Davies* Suttner* Naughton Long*
    Salah Silva Sterling* Atsu Carroll
    Kane* Aguero* Abraham

    Lots of injury/rotation doubts.
Lots of my ML have already used their W/C and I am top of most, so risk seems low?

    Would appreciate your thoughts

This weeks fixtures are very different to GW 11 which in turn are very different to GW12. I think it would be difficult to WC this week.

I'd just do upgrade Suttner or Long to strengthen your bench. Doesn't look worth a WC.

    A) KANE for MORATA ? (-4)
    B) KANE for SANCHEZ ?(-8)
    C) STICK and sub on CARROLL!?

Other strikers are Jesus and Aguero so there are doubts already...

Hm, so now need to bring in a playing striker rather than my initial plan of 4.5 fodder.

Best option for 5.7 or less? (Tammy is 5.8)

    A) Diouf
    B) Okazaki
    C) Ayew
    D) Joselu
    E) Murray

A load of tosh I know, but leaning towards A, despite his possible move back to wing back.

    Fabianski (Elliot)
    Otamendi, Monreal, Davies, Jones (Mbemba)

    Kane, Aguero, Vardy

Should I play my free hit?

      imo yes

even hazard has traditionally been bad away from home. perhaps just get in 11 nailed starters and go with a big midfield including sanchez, coutinho, salah etc

    Go with:

    Pope
    Otamendi Cedric Ward Davies
    Salah(c) Hazard Richalison RLC
    Jesus Vardy

    Elliot Wimmer Carroll Kane

    Or

    Free hit to:

    Elliot
    Monreal Ward Moreno
    Sanchez(c) Salah Coutinho Sane Richaelison
    Lacazette Jesus

    3.9 Marriapa Hunemier Quaner

Sigh, I thought this would be my first week ever to save a FT.

Is Morata a good replacement? (Already have Aguero)

Or should I play Jack Cork and keep Kane on the bench?

I'd be surprised, he's already risen once this week apparently so the threshold is doubled for the second rise. Early in the day to say though.

My free hit is for when we have a DGW - one of those mini doubles with 3/4 teams.

So many seem to be playing it to save a -4 or -8.

To save points and to gain much more points from their premium striker this week. Kane 0 pts vs Laca 13 pointer potentially, plus a lot of other players with favourable fixtures, it could gain you 30+ points than your current team. Free hit doesn't look like a bad idea at all this week
