A third of the season is almost done, and Burnley’s defence is riding high as a source of Fantasy returns.

After a surprising debut campaign in which a recurring series of defensive heroics – particularly at Turf Moor – saw the Clarets survive in 16th place, their sophomore season has been altogether more impressive.

Sean Dyche’s side sit in seventh place – tied on points with both Liverpool and Arsenal –a nd have conceded fewer goals than all but the top three of Manchester City, Manchester United and Spurs.

Can their defence continue to perform at such a high level throughout the campaign? And who among their array of options looks best placed to prosper from this upturn in solidity?

    Approaching Xmas I find myself over 100 points adrift in all my leagues and need to take some drastic action.

      No need for drastic action, 100 points un December is not a big deal.
      Been there done that, key now is to find a player that will become essential over coming weeks (like King last season for example) and get him before masses do.
      Dont panic just think through your moves and pray for a bit of luck.

        Aguero was injured for one of them, another he missed after playing an unexpected 120 mins in the cup so essentially he's 2-1 up, with only the Bournemouth fixture being one he was benched for without reason

    Leicester away isn't an easy fixture and City have already qualified in the CL. They face Feyonoord at home, which they beat away 4-0 and have 0 points in their group. My guess is that Pep will play his best squad against Leicester with Agüero starting and Jesus will get more minutes in the CL

      Add Daniels and Moreno and I like it a lot. You could also consider going with Valencia for United's easy fixtures and bringing Azpil in for GW14.
