Dugout Discussion – Brighton vs Stoke

Gameweek 12 comes to its conclusion at the Amex Stadium this evening as Brighton entertain Stoke at 8pm.

For the hosts, Pascal Gross has been the standout asset in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Sitting in over 19% of FPL squads, the playmaker has averaged 7.2 points per match (ppm) in front of his own fans – when on the pitch, he’s played a part in 83% of their home goals.

Four strikes in the Seagulls’ last three league outings have brought Glenn Murray (5.8) onto our radars as a potential budget frontman – over 112,000 acquired him for Gameweek 12.

Up against a defence that has conceded at least twice in six of their last eight, Murray is the most captained player for tonight’s encounter, handed the armband by 6,868 managers compared with Gross’ 3,904 backers.

The Potters’ two most popular players, Eric Choupo-Moting (5.8%) and Xherdan Shaqiri (5.3%), have struggled on their travels, with just an away assist between them (for the latter) in five road trips.

Yet the duo’s home form means that, overall, they’ve still averaged a decent 4.0 and 4.5 ppm respectively this season. And clashes with Palace and Swansea in the next three could warrant further attention for the midfield pair.

Brighton, though, have been fairly resilient at home – league leaders Manchester City, in a 2-0 win in Gameweek 1, are the only side to have scored more than one goal away to Chris Hughton’s men.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

How is Ragnar Klavan as an option? 4.3 and has played full 90 the last 3 games and Pool have a decent run of fixtures. That would also allow me to get my old-time favorite Baines who seems to be trying to highhandedly save Everton it seems

I wouldn't. No LIV defender is safe at the back for next month or so.

I was considering him before last GW but I realised that he played only because of injuries. So avoid him.

Matip & Lovren appear to be the first choice pairing but both rather injury prone. It’s a risk, but a cheap one.

He's not nailed imo. I'd expect Matip to take him out the team once he's back. He was just put in for 2 games to take Lovren out the firing line but he's not been bad to be fair. So there is a chance Matip could take Lovren out instead.

I was actually hoping Lovren was out of the team for good because of all their fans ganing up on him and stuff. Anyway thanks for the insight guys!

Wilson rising has prevented me from straight swapping him in for Abraham 🙁

If Aguero plays most of the game tomorrow and Abraham is ruled out for the weekend, would Aguero and Abraham -> Morata and Wilson (-4) be worth it?

Oh right 🙂 I wanted us to keep him this season and happy for him to go next season. I would take huge money and switch to a 4231 and get Firmino behind Belotti/Icardi.

              • 7 Years

Yeah probably would be happy with £130m personally. But wouldn't complain about keeping him! I'd rather Werner personally. Don't think Belotti is the right type of player for us. Icardi is a great call though.

Werner is probably a more realistic bet to be fair, but I think it would have to be Werner +1 in that case. Maybe throw some money at Pulisic too.

                  6 years, 5 months ago

Yeah Pulisic would be a great buy just depends if he'd be happy second fiddle to Mane/Salah. Hoping we can get Goretzka, Van Dijk and then potentially another CB on a free like De Vrij or Gimenez and a keeper as well. Don't want much :') I'd be selling Karius, Lovren, Henderson, Sturridge, Origi, Markovic and a few fringe players at the end of this season as well.

Aguero, Carroll, Hunemeir and Fabianski to Niasse, Sane, Alonso and Speroni for -8?

    1. Jsadler95
      • 7 Years
      6 years, 5 months ago

Why not just do Aguero and Carroll to Niasse and Sane this week. Then Alonso next week, then Speroni the week after? Surely not a good time to bring Alonso in against Pool. Did you decide against Hazard then?

      1. VardysParty
        • 6 Years
        6 years, 5 months ago

I think Sane will do almost as well as Hazard and I think Alonso will get a fair few points too. Need to get Speroni in to find Alonso so would need one hit regardless I think. Could do two transfers this week then two next?

          • 7 Years
          6 years, 5 months ago

Ahh I see, I already have Sane and Salah so next on my list was Hazard. My recommendation would be wait until after tonight first, see what pep's line up is. If Sane starts and Aguero doesn't then Aguero is likely to start on the weekend. If you did just the first two transfers who would be in, instead of Alonso and Fab?

Which 2 strikers do you prefer in Draft for Christmas period?

    1) Abraham
    2) Niasse

    4) Benteke

Hey guys what is the difference with...ok i'll use the example of Crystal Palace - Zaha was up the front, but Benteke is now back to fitness, and in Lineup Lessons it says Benteke will be expected to lead the line, and Zaha will move to Left Wing.

So i'm wondering what peoples thoughts are, on Zaha's output with Benteke back, VS when it was just Zaha up front?

Obviously, Benteke's presence and runs will create more chances and assist opportunities for Zaha. So perhaps this means more chance for points??

But this is just one example of what i'm trying to ask in general...about change in positions with influx of stronger attacking talent and how it will influence results.
    Cheers

Under no illusion that my team requires major surgery.

    Team Name: Spursy..
    FPL Team Code: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/102786/event/12
    OR: 354,378

My only saving grace is that I find myself sitting at an OR of 354k despite 10/12 captain fails and not owning Salah or Lukaku all season.

I would appreciate all advice on this team, personally I am thinking to hold my transfer for this one week (unless Bailly is definitely out). The team, in my opinion, is extremely top heavy and light in midfield, however, I do not want to be binning Hazard to free up funds given the form he is in and his upcoming fixtures.

    Team:

    Forster
    Walker - Daniels - Trippier - Bailly - Maguire
    Sane - Hazard
    Kane(c) - Morata - Vardy

    Bench: Elliot, Surman, Carroll, Carrick

    Cheers,

    Rahul

bailly maguire out > lots of choices 4.6
      t.carrol out for rlc
      vardy out for niasse

choose what you want to do. but not more 2 hits. -8

get some cheapies in def. and with vardy to niasse
you can afford salah and mayb chupo.

if i got it right you will be able to play 352 with 1 or 2 coming from the bench.
