Dugout Discussion – Man City vs Newcastle

Saturday ends at the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City bid to recover from their defeat at Anfield with three points over Newcastle United.

In Fantasy terms we have three of the top seven captain picks on show in the City attack.

Sergio Aguero leads the way with 581,000+ (10.3%) backers who will hope that he can deliver on an incredible record against the Magpies.

The Argentinian averages a goal or assist every 31 minutes against Newcastle in home matches, though he has just a single goal in his last four Gameweeks.

Kevin De Bruyne sports 178,000 armbands (3.1%) as he goes into the game with three assists in his last five; his last goal came back in Gameweek 18.

Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling – who was surprisingly sold by 108,000 ahead of Gameweek 24 – has the support of 152,000 managers as he bids to add to his tally of nine goals on home turf.

      i put in aguero for the first time this season (for a -4 in fact) but it wow it paid off. I captained him & will get 34 pts! I remembered the 5 goals he scored against newcastle 2 years ago & hence I captained him. I was going to captain salah but news of his illness made me captain kun!

    Did they really say on the scoutcast that Aguero was passed-it?

    Only CF who can play for City, zero rotation threat, top of the league, scoring goals for fun... and yet no one even discussed getting him in. As soon as I heard them slaying him and focusing on Firmino vs Vardy, I put the armband on him!

              But Kane has frequently blown hot and cold this season (having blanked in more games than he's scored in) and nobody is criticising him? He's been very ordinary for large swathes of the season. I think it's clear as day Pep's set up doesn't suit Aguero, the fact that he still scores plenty is a testament to him.

    I think the template team is starting to crack. Especially the midfield players. Lingard, Sterling, TOT players have tough 3 games coming after SOU, Man City defence with Zinchenko and even Stones is looking not so good anymore. Time to look for some other options.
