Sunday treats us to a single, but nonetheless crucial, Gameweek 24 fixture as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s at 4pm.

After Sergio Aguero’s hat-trick at home to Newcastle yesterday, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) managers are looking for a repeat performance from Harry Kane today.

Having put three past the Saints in a 5-2 win in Gameweek 20, the Spurs frontman is the number one captain choice in FPL, handed the armband by 29.3%.

However, the visitors’ potential at both ends of the pitch has been dented by the absence of key duo Hugo Lloris and Christian Eriksen through illness.

Sold by over 96,000 FPL managers last week, the Dane could now be subject to a late-January exodus – Mauricio Pochettino’s men play Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal in the subsequent three rounds of fixtures.

Up against a defence that has mustered just a single clean sheet in their last 11 at home, owners of Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min will be optimistic of returns – the pair plundered 15 and 14 points respectively in that recent triumph over the Saints.

In defence, Ben Davies is handed a fourth straight start for only the second time this term, with Danny Rose again missing out due to an ongoing knee complaint.

        I agree. Do it now. Utd with Jones starting have a ridiculously good record for goals conceded. There's a good chance they keep a cleanie and if not, you've got Jones. Spurs seem to have a complex against Utd, and I fancy Utd to do them like they did Arsenal.

    Having a very average season and need something to spark it. Doing ok in mini leagues but OR pretty poor at 140k. Thoughts on Alli and Lloris to Hazard and an alternate keeper? If Courtois out for a longer period will prob go Caballero. Will be for -4 and would probably captain Hazard

      I wouldn't sell Kane, but double up with Son seems too much. On the other hand I can see Son scoring against strong opposition, and maybe even outscore Kane in the next 3.

      So I'm not sure if Son to Mahrez is straightforward.

      Spurs will be interesting soon with Toby back possibly even for the next league game. They will now have the option to go three at the back again bringing the wbs into play and one of eriksen or alli dropping deeper with the other plus Son playing behind Kane and both of those two behind the striker becoming more prominent scoring threats as eriksen and alli were the second half of last season.

      I could see something like

      Hard to know. I always get the impression Mourinho can't stand him & vice Versa. I think he SHOULD start, as he is better than Lingard, Mata & Rashford. But could easily see Mourinho starting Lingard Sanchez Mata/Rashford & using Martial from the bench

    What do I need to do here? Thinking of saving a FT if I avoid injuries.. However, Elliot is probably not going to play, which leaves me with Foster away to City.. Struggling to find a goalie worth changing to though within my budget..

        Always been front loaded, but hurts this GW f.ex when Alonso, Azpi, Jones and DDG gets points.. However Agüero (C) made up for that.

        Regret that I didn't have the guts to go for Shaqiri instead of Lingard. Did Son and Morata to Lingard and Agüero.. Would've made Hegazi to Jones possible, or getting a 5.4M GK..

        Not a big fan of Evertons fixtures..

      Her played there a couple of seasons ago for arsenal when welbeck was up front and score massively. Lingard run coming to an end I'd say.
