Sky Sports Focus

We have a change in leader in the Sky Sports Scout League, a new contender to chase the glittering prize of £25k in the overall rankings. With the Knockout Cup now looming, there’s plenty to cover as we take a look at the movement at the top of our League, analyse the latest transfer trends and look to tonight’s edition of the Fantasy Football Club…

The Scout League

After over a month on top, Charles Mouzon’s “Geordie Lads” are finally toppled as Paul McAnulty’s rapid rise up the rankings has him claim the leadership of the Scout League after yet another impressive Gameweek tally. Paul’s “Housewives Favourite” move on to 1059 points to look down on the pack, just 28 behind the overall Sky Sports leader, as he sits in fourth spot. Charles remains in touch, some 10 points behind Paul, with Simon Davies’ “Nags Head Rovers” back in third on 1037.

For the Contributors, Andy remains the highest-ranked on show – he’s now 30th in our league. Very respectable.

We now have seven players in the top 20 overall rankings, although the gap at the top of the Private League rankings is now just five points.

A reminder that if you’re playing the Sky Sports game and have yet to join our league, you can sign up to the FFScout League with this Pin: 8004519. We have a home cinema system, worth £600, available to the winner.

The Knockout Cup

The Sky Sports Knockout Cup had its preliminary round in the previous Gameweek with the draw now made for the first round which takes place over the matches of Gameweek 20 (December 29 and 30). Click here when logged in and you’ll get a full analysis of your first round opponent. The winner of the Knockout Cup will receive a home entertainment package complete with a 3D TV, a 3D DVD player and a free, full Sky HD+ pack for a year. Nice.

Market Forces

Stoke stopper, Asmir Begovic remains the “most wanted” transfer target this week, with over 48% of deals involving the Bosnian keeper off the back of his eight clean sheets, which have seen him climb to the top of the value rankings amongst the keepers. Not surprisingly, Santi Cazorla’s exploits at Reading on Monday night has earned him some renewed interest and he ranks third in the “transfers in” table – over 19% of trades involved the Arsenal man. Cazorla has now returned 20.59 points per million for his modest 6.7 fee – making him the best value player in the entire game. Cazorla’s popularity this week is bettered only by Begovic and Robin Van Persie; the latter is still earning suitors with 21% of transfers seeing his arrival in squads this week following his goal and assist against Sunderland.

Yet again, however, Van Persie is amongst the most transferred out players on show. While Marouane Fellaini’s ban has him shipped in over 41% of this week’s deals, Van Persie has been sold on as part of 21% as Sky Sports managers clear the decks to free up funds, no doubt. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is the other striker on the transfer see-saw: he was brought in as part of 16% of deals in the last seven days but sold on in 14% of the transfer transactions.

The Fantasy Football Club

Peter Reid is tonight’s guest in the changing rooms of the Fantasy Football Club tonight. He joins Fenners and Merse to roll-out his all-time XI at 10pm on Sky Sports One tonight.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
