The ScoutCast – Episode 123 – Ghost

The title summons up imagery of Granville straddling me at the Potter’s wheel, lovingly helping to craft a clay creation as we unite to sculpt out a Van Persie bust – in true Lionel Ritchie’s “Hello” style.

That’s probably lost approximately half of our potential audience who are too young to recall the analogy. The other half are likely to be repelled by the image of Granville and I caught in a Swayze/Moore-like clinch.

If you’re part of the minority still sticking around, curious to hear how the above nonsense translates into a podcast, then listen up. You’ll catch the plenty of Wildcard ribbing, a tale of captain calamity exposed by this week’s community questions and the usual array of regulars.

Prepare to be haunted via this link or exorcise your right to stream via the handy player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Deulofeu back will mean mirallas up top.. Naismith was just horrid upfront. a real headless chicken. he has not pace so they cant play him on the wing. hopefully, deulofeu is back. then it'll be a mirallas punt for sure 😎

I thought Winston Reid was back for this weekend, but he still is listed as doubtful?

Am I wrong or did big Sam clear him fit last week but said he wouldn't play against Chelsea?

He's been in full training this week but as far as I know Big Sam hasn't stated he will play. WHUFC website stated his return is "imminent" but nothing concrete (yet) otherwise.

Given their resolute defending against Chelsea (I know they won't play so defensively against Swansea) I can't see a big rush to get him back, but I'm hopeful!

This is a repost from last night but some may not have seen it, hopefully it helps show the situation in week 29. As a previous FFS article stated there is a chance that PL games could be rescheduled during the same game week, although this is not what happened last season....

I've been looking at the FA Cup fixtures and the Premiership fixtures that will have to be moved depending on results.
I’ve assigned the % chance of each premiership team winning – let’s not argue over random 5%’s!

    Fulham (70%) vs Sheffield United
    Sunderland (50%) vs Southampton (50%)
    Cardiff (70%) vs Wigan
Man City (60%) vs Chelsea (40%)
    Everton (65%) vs Swansea (35%)
    Arsenal (55%) vs Liverpool (45%)
    Brighton vs Hull (50%)

Using these %’s here are the fixtures for week 29 with how likely they are to be on:
    WBA vs MUN 100%
    NOR vs STO 100%
    CHE vs TOT 60%
    CPL vs SOU 50%
    WHM vs HUL 50%
    MCI vs AVL 40%
    NEW vs EVE 35%
    ARS vs SWA 30%
    LIV vs SUN 28%
    CAR vs FUL 9%

In the worst case scenario we could have only four games being played.
One of Chelsea and Man City (corrected from previous post) will have a fixture.
It is possible that the only other game to be played in week 29 would be either CPL vs SOU or NEW vs EVE.
I thought my Boruc/Mannone rotation meant I was safe, for a keeper at least, in week 29 but if Southampton and Liverpool win (23% chance) then I end up with no keeper – and barely any outfield players!

We'll have two gameweeks to plan once we know the results (assuming no replays) but with no MCI, MUN, SUN or WBA the week before this is going to be tough!

4 including the two 100% games (WBA vs MUN and NOR vs STO)
There could be more games, that is worst case scenario.
The only teams guaranteed games in both 28 and 29 are Norwich and Stoke - from which I have 0 players.

I don't know, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me could answer that?
At the moment I'm pretty resigned to having a poor week in 29.
There is no way of knowing what is going to happen and I wouldn't let this affect my transfers or WC at the moment - although 3 players from MUN, MCI and SUN would be a bad idea!

But surely if you do this every week then you will lose ground as Suarez gets better points per game on average.
If you want to be different get a few players in with low ownership but don't play around with your captain choice - always on who you think will score the most points.

Someone was on earlier about 2 transfers each week to improve the game, along that theme I would like to see players rise or fall as soon as they hit 100%,this would massively increase decision making and also dispose of wasted transfers every day ,eg mata is going up tonight but about 20 k transfers will be irrelevant and notion number two would be just scrap the flag system altogether,eg again RVP wold probably be around 11.9 now given all his absences....

You have to be careful with the balance between FPL fanatics and casual players. While many on this forum would presumably like 2 FT and constantly changing prices, it would make it more difficult for people who enjoy playing FPL but don't have the same time allowances for it, and discourage them from playing in future in the gap is extended between them and the fanatics.

It wouldn't improve the game, transfer decisions would lose as much impact because it would be easier to ship people out. Teams would become more similar as people would find it easier to transfer in on form players.

        12.5 at worst.

Game would become a 24 hour game. Too much work for FPL to keep updating constantly.
I don't mind flags if obvious. RVP being cheaper would just make him an easier acquisition.

There are 2 reports on the Scout Tweet section on Livermore. Which one is true? Is Livermore staying at Hull or returning to spurs?
