As always on Friday lunchtime, we turn our attentions to PlayON, the weekly Fantasy Football game. Scouring the PlayON Price List for potential bargains, we assessing the upcoming bumper Gameweek which sees six sides play twice– unsurprisingly, then, we focus on both Manchester teams ahead of tomorrow’s deadline, whilst in-form Sunderland are also on the radar:

This week PlayON have a £1,000 GUARANTEED game on offer – you can enter the game on the multiplayer page here. PlayON are also giving FREE ENTRY into the £1,000 GUARANTEED game for all new sign-ups between now and 10.45 on Sat morning – no deposit needed.

If you’re new to PlayON, it is weekly Fantasy Football so you can dip in and out of playing throughout the season. Once your starting XI is built, you can compete for cash. You can challenge other players to one-on-one games, selecting the amount at stake. The likes of Robbie Fowler, Les Ferdinand and OptaJoe are all playing the game and are there to be challenged for free or for £1. The Fantasy Football Scout team is also available to be challenged and has a 51% win rate up to this point. You can also create an open challenge against anyone else on the site – just click the amount you want to play for and the number of slots (number of people who can accept your challenge) on the one-on-one page .

For a more in-depth introduction to PlayON, take a look at this season’s introduction article.

Goalkeeper – Joe Hart
Priced at a mere 7.7m, the Man City stopper travels to Everton this weekend before hosting Villa at the Etihad in midweek. Manuel Pellegrini’s side chalked up their first shut-out in six attempts last Sunday and, whilst Hart may have to rely on saves for the Goodison encounter, Villa’s record of two goals in four matches is indicative of their struggling attack. David De Gea is also very favourably priced. Coming in at 7.4m, he welcomes Sunderland and Hull to Old Trafford this Gameweek and earned his first home clean sheet since January last weekend. Given their budget-friendly price tags, in comparison to other double Gameweek keepers, it’s difficult to look beyond the Manchester-based pair.

Defender – Patrice Evra
The Frenchman’s raids down the left offers the chance of points at both ends of the pitch for the Red Devils’ pair of matches. Setting you back 9.0m, Evra looks poised to start both matches and, as last week’s win over Norwich highlighted, Ryan Giggs is determined to go on the offensive and finish the season on a high. Sunderland’s Santiago Vergini is available for just 8.1m for a trip to United and home encounter with West Brom. The right-back looks to have risen above Phil Bardsley in the pecking order and offers the cheapest route into Gus Poyet’s backline, with a clean sheet to his name in last week’s resounding win over Cardiff. Coming in at 10.0m, Vincent Kompany is the cheapest of Manuel Pellegrini’s backline regulars but, with three goals to his name so far, the Man City skipper has netted more times than any defensive team-mate ahead of the matches against Everton and Villa.

Midfielder – Juan Mata
With five goals in his last four appearances, the Spaniard has finally settled at Old Trafford after a series of inconsistent displays. Mata climbed off the bench to bag a brace in Ryan Giggs’ debut at the helm last weekend and with doubts over both Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie, he seems poised to be re-installed to the starting XI ahead of the pair of home fixtures – coming in at 10.5m, he looks a canny acquisition for the Gameweek. Yaya Toure’s return from injury last week proved pivotal to Manchester City’s title ambitions. The Ivorian’s goal and assist in the 2-0 win at Crystal Palace ended the Eagles’ five-match winning streak and placed the visitors firmly in the driving seat for their second title in three seasons. Priced at 10.1m for the games against Everton and Villa, Toure still looks excellent value as he attempts to add to his 19-goal haul and fire Manuel Pellegrini’s side to the summit. Adam Johnson (9.2m) could finally be set to end a recent dry spell. Granted, a trip to Old Trafford is tricky, but the home game against West Brom bodes well – the Baggies have conceded three times in three of their last five fixtures.

Forward – Sergio Aguero
Available for 11.3m in this week’s PlayON Player Price List, the Argentine could be set to deal some real damage over the double. Aguero seems the safest bet from either of the Manchester sides to start both matches and, as we’ve seen in seasons gone by, his predatory nature in the penalty box could make all the difference to City’s title bid. Robin Van Persie is still a doubt for Man United’s matches against Sunderland and Hull but, having returned to training earlier in the week, the Dutchman – who comes in at a mere 7.8m – is very favourably priced and could be a real bargain if given the game time by Ryan Giggs. Handed his first start since February last weekend, Saido Berahino fired the winner against West Ham to take West Brom a step closer to survival. Available for 10.5m, the youngster has back-to-back matches against Arsenal and Sunderland to plunder the goals again.

Not worth a -8 to replace Aj and Rooney with Mata and Borini is it?

      My team

      De Gea

      Zabaleta - Evra - Azpilicueta

      Mata - Ramsey - Sterling - Toure

      Suarez - Giroud - Aguero

      Koscielny my first sub.
Who to captain? And does it make sense to play Koscielny instead of Sterling? Even if Arsenal get a clean sheet, I feel like all my players have a decent chance of scoring 6 points or more

I'd like to stick with what I said before that for those who are trying to make up ground, it is important that you take hits, especially during this stage of the season, to up your position in an effort to leapfrog the masses. It's a necessary risk, even -8. Now that Rooney's out and if you've got a good differential, I say you take it.

-12 would be over the top.

    Team is:

    Mannone
    Evra Cahill Kolarov Chester Bardsley
    Mata Ramsey
    Aguero (c) Rooney Suarez

    Bench: Adrian Eriksen Mutch Nolan

Do I play any of my bench over Chester and/or Bardsley?

Take some hits to try and get Silva in or Alonso in for Bardsley.

Dzeko questionable due to Silva's return.

So here's the dilemma. Currently 2nd overall in Nepal, 44 points off first, and would love to finish top. The leader doesn't have Yaya but does have Aguero, and unlikely to bring him in given available funds etc. But it's not worth any money to finish top in that league, and in both the cash leagues I'm in, the guys in 2nd (I'm top) will captain Aguero as they too don't have Yaya.

    Do I:

    (a) consolidate the lead I have in my cash leagues and captain Aguero, mitigating the risk of them catching me

    Or

    (b) take a punt on Yaya, in the hope it pays off and I catch the leader in Nepal, simultaneously extending my lead in the cashies?

Risk and reward at this point in the season, risk and reward.

Thinking about it some more, as I have both there's more upside potential in captaining Yaya. I still get Aguero's single points if he goes berserk, but if Yaya goes mental I really steal a march on my opponents....

PS. Cash leagues worth a good few hundred quid.
