The bread and butter of a defender must always be clean sheets. Anything else is extra. He won't score everyweek and I think a Southampton defender with their form and fixtures looks key for the next few weeks. No brainer really.

What will you gain from an injury to Pelle in training midweek? Or gets flu? The wait is for injuries and illness.

Barring injuries I'll be doing Ade to Pelle next Friday night. Pelle is exactly the kind of mid priced striker I like - central to all goals, nailed on and in an attacking side. Those fixtures - esp QPR look too good to miss as well.

Pelle's finishing is worrying though. That heavy touch after receiving a nicely timed ball from Tadic must have been very frustrating for his owners (and Saints fans!)

Wow! Welbeck's stats are impressive from today. Most notably 31 successful passes out of 32 attempts.
Welbeck is a top, top, top player.
He's good. But don't get carried away just yet. He still has to show some consistency in front of goal.
Terrific work ethic. Sure, his finishing often is lacking, but dropping deep to help defend, and picking the ball up at the half-way line often really helps his midfield going forward. Often ran out wide, too, unusually so for a centre-forward.
