Premier League Set Piece Takers

These tables display a list of expected set piece takers for each Premiership side. These are a based on a mix of information gathered from last season matches, pre-season friendlies and also the a player’s role at previous clubs.

The list will be updated constantly as new information becomes available on assigned set piece takers. It will also be updated throughout the season as roles chop and change.

Players are listed in order of priority for the given role eg: the first name in the penalty/direct free kick takers list is the preferred taker. For corners and free kicks the first two players are those normally employed in the role.

Kaboul at Spurs has taken two long range free kicks pre-season. His first effort was stunning, just a whisker away. He looks likely to be 1st team for at least two months (till King is fit).

I’m sure I read that Landzaat scored from the spot in a 0-2 win over Barnsley pre season. Koumas played the full 90 mins and scored the other goal from open play.

The african nations cup is coming up and Pizarro will get his shot- HE IS GOOD- with Kalou out and Shev not heard of. He will go in place the alternative option is malouda up front, he is a great winger not a striker.

Van Persie didn’t take last weeks pen because he was fouled for it. at arsenal if you win the penalty you don’t take it. has always been this way even when henry was taking them just some strange thing wenger has going.

Arsenal: Direct Free Kicks: Toure also takes some of the free kicks. I don’t know why Wenger still alows him.. I can’t remember last time he scored on a free kick. (Toure – 20+ meters)
