Kaboul at Spurs has taken two long range free kicks pre-season. His first effort was stunning, just a whisker away. He looks likely to be 1st team for at least two months (till King is fit).

  2. 2 On August 6th, 2007, Mark said:

Yep…meant to add Kaboul to this list. Will do so. Thanks for the tip off Chris.

Nani (after he came on) took some of the corners for ManUtd in the Community Shield.

What makes you think Koumas will be taking penalties at Wigan?? Free kicks and corners definitely but Pens????

  5. 5 On August 8th, 2007, David said:

I’m sure I read that Landzaat scored from the spot in a 0-2 win over Barnsley pre season. Koumas played the full 90 mins and scored the other goal from open play.

  6. 6 On August 8th, 2007, Mark said:

Hi David..yep you’re right, Landzaat is the pen specialist so that one needs to be re-ordered.

i have a feeling rooney will be taking some of the free kicks at united aswell. no doubt the names you have now will take more but he will be wanting his fair share too

The african nations cup is coming up and Pizarro will get his shot- HE IS GOOD- with Kalou out and Shev not heard of. He will go in place the alternative option is malouda up front, he is a great winger not a striker.

Baines has got a wicked left foot when fit, he just needs to grab the ball off arteta, easier said than done.

it looks like after van persies missed pen 2 weeks ago, adeboyor has taken over instead of silva.

  17. 17 On September 15th, 2007, Trev irwin said:

Van Persie didn’t take last weeks pen because he was fouled for it. at arsenal if you win the penalty you don’t take it. has always been this way even when henry was taking them just some strange thing wenger has going.

  18. 18 On September 18th, 2007, adam white said:

oh right, i thought that was just with henry. good news for me then as im keeping van persie in my team!

Arsenal: Direct Free Kicks: Toure also takes some of the free kicks. I don’t know why Wenger still alows him.. I can’t remember last time he scored on a free kick. (Toure - 20+ meters)
