The Knee Jerk

The Knee Jerk- Taking Liberties?

Three home games and not a single goal conceded- Swansea once again returned a clean sheet this afternoon as Brendan Rodgers’ side finally picked up their first three points of the season.

While the swashbuckling performances of both Manchester clubs provide Fantasy managers plenty options going forward, the Swans continue to offer plenty cut-price options at the back and, in this thoroughly unpredictable Fantasy campaign, are showing a defensive consistency that seems to be lacking the length and breadth of the Premier League.

Michel Vorm defied West Brom at the Liberty Stadium with a string of saves and jumped to second in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) goalkeeper rankings- at 4.1 he’s cementing his position as one of the bargains of the season. Ahead of the Dutchman, the likes of Angel Rangel, Ashley Williams and Neil Taylor –the left-back was stretchered off after a clumsy challenge from Peter Odemwingie, however- are all racking up the points right now.

Shipping four goals in their first fixture, it seemed impossible that Swansea would then go on to concede just one in the following four but, exposed to the harsh realities of Premier League life in the Etihad Stadium opener, Rodgers’ side have learned fast. While the likes of Arsenal are hit for four by a side managed by Steve Kean, the Welsh club are defying all expectation with a series of resolute displays.

In a sense, it merely adds to the frustration of many Fantasy managers this season. There have no doubt been a proportion of casual players who initially added Swansea defensive options to their ranks simply due to the low price, allowing their budgets to be allocated to big-money buys such as Wayne Rooney and Sergio Aguero. Hand one of them the captain’s armband week after week and bang- there’s your big points haul right there. No need for tactics.

As the big names bang in the goals, the dirt-cheap options chalk up the clean sheets- this Fantasy lark is supposed to favour the more dedicated player; study the form and the fixtures, rotate as and when accordingly. At present, though, it seems far from it.

This GW is the first time my captain has scored higher than 2!! (Had RVP as captain)

Anyways, should I do RVP and Brunt out for Adebayor and Mata?

De leat out? Any other 4.0s worth it?

Thinking waste a transfer this week and
    Cabaye out Tiote in
Deleat out Shawcross in next week

    Thoughts?

Sorry team is linked, lazy on iPhone to type it

Would like to keep Cabaye because he looks promising but has done zero for two weeks and a bit better defense to get the clean sheets we are seeing more of seems sensible
Tiote got an assist, has reasonble stats (Esp key passes) and is cheap

        Team:
        Vorm / Krull
Taylor N , enrich, bos, de leat, Simpson
        Mata, Walcott, nasri, Cabaye, dyer

im lazy to click it lol. I personally like the looks of Cabaye. An option ive considered is gettin in Johnson from NOR for nice and cheap and just rotating him and Dyer. So that might be an option if you want to consider that to free up some funds. Then depending on what Dzeko does this week mayb ship him for Adebayor??

Thanks for reply. Yes those are possicle changes but not convinced adebyor will outscore dezko even with rotation. With VDV back and a few good gameweeks in maybe a different story. Can't see it for this week

Walcott, there was a good scout article showing how streaky he is. Worst consistency. I knew this bit he can produce great returns and no way to get RVP in without killing my team.
Hindsight maybe arteta was the better buy but similar to nasri/silva can't change now

What do people think of these transfers:

    S. Fletcher out, Agbonlahor in
    N'Zog out, Barton in

This frees up enough cash to get rid of Moses the following week for someone who is 6.8 or lower.

Good idea or can you think of any other people I should consider?

It is a little strange but I guess when ou are owned by so many people it's easy to drop in value if you arent scoring every week.

I wont be dropping him anytime soon either. I think he'll score plenty this year. He should have scored more than he has already this season. Once he finds his goalscoring boots they'll be no stopping him

Just from two games they play together in Villa, stat seem to say Warnock edges Hutton in overall performance.

Warnock seems to be better in defense and involvement in key events of game.

But, in last night game, Hutton was a bit more advance and attacking as he put in more crosses.

      A very good move IMO.

Moses has had some very easy games but cant find his scoring boots at all and Baines was always over-priced, but now Everton are a shambles and he aint scoring (many) points it's a no-brainer to get rid.

I like Enrique as a cheap in to Pool DF coverage and Arteta is debatable just down to the fact Arse are on a horrible downward spiral

Wait and see whether Dzeko plays today - could give more idea of whether he's worth hanging onto.

Any good defender for 5.5 or less.

I have Shawx, Warnock and Enrique and De Laet currently

Maybe a Villa defender? Not sure of their relative merits. Trying to decide between Hutton and Warnock myself.

Sorry, I see you've already got Warnock. I really must learn to read.

In that case, how about a Newcastle defender?

"If you do not use your free transfer, you are able to make an additional free transfer the following Gameweek. If you do not use this saved free transfer in the following Gameweek, it will be carried over until you do. You can never have more than 1 saved transfer."

If i have 2 free transfer for GW6 but i only use 1, will i have 2 free transfer for GW7? i cant exactly understand the rules above.. hmmmmm

Yes you can always save 1 FT. If you have 2 FT better make at least 1 so that you don't lose that.

Look at this week's highest scoring team: Nani Torres Zamora on bench! Costliest bench ever!!!
